| 30.08.2022 | TSwifty | 5.0 | I was massively disappointed by this match after hearing MOTYC reviews from many puro fans, because I expected a lot more from two great wrestlers. The first 10 or so minutes of this match consists of Hideki and Nakajima grappling on the mat. I thought it was really intriguing as Nakajima actually outclassed Hideki several times. Hideki would work on Nakajima's neck , and Nakajima worked on Hideki's leg. I thought they had a lot going for them, but the next section of the match lost me. This crowd brawl was incredibly weak and dragged out. Once we got to the 20 minute mark we got the expected strikes exchanges. All of their signature strikes looked good and their chemistry seemed solid, but I thought they were lacking urgency until the very last 2-3 minutes when they began trading finishers. It didn't feel earned despite going the full 30. I mean, Hideki basically no-sold the Vertical Spike just to hit his finisher before the time limit. They definitely had something special with the mat-wrestling and the final third has some really good moments, but the structure left something to be desired. **3/4 |
| 17.08.2021 | CFOS | 10.0 | NOAH Higher Ground 2020 : I don't know why this match is rated so low, that was amazing. The match began with a lot of technical/grappling exchange and i really liked this. The second part was a brawl in the outside and in the ring and that was amazing too. And i also didn't see the time passed and i wish this match had more time because it didn't feel like 30min. I also wish that Hideki comeback one day in Japan because he have a lot of dream match that he didn't do. An amazing match overall. Highly recommended. CFØS Ratings : ****3/4 |
| 01.03.2021 | Bushidospirit22 | 10.0 | Really fun match. The thirty minutes flew by, especially after the early mat work. Great brawling in the crowd and an incredibly hot closing stretch that had me on edge till the end. |
| 28.12.2020 | Zack122 | 10.0 | I enjoyed how this match built up. From the grappling and technical wrestling, to the brawling on the outside, and then the climax. I was so disappointed to see this end at 30 minutes, I wanted them to wrestle for quite a while. Hideki reminds me of Timothy Thatcher by alot. Reading the comments on here beforehand, I expected a boring bout but I was loving every second of this. |
| 24.12.2020 | PUNQ | 6.0 | Katsuhiko Nakajima -vs- Hideki Suzuki [** 3/4] The last 5 minutes are quality. The rest consisted of oddly passive fighting. Either their styles doesn't mix well, or they didn't have a strong enough plan going out there. I was still intrigued, or baffled, always questioning what they were attempting during those early stages. Even if it didn't fully click, it did feel a little different than the ordinary formula. |

| 14.12.2020 | pierreMinne | 9.0 | That was a true war of 30 minutes between these two, and the time limit draw represents well how hard hitting that match was. Nakajima's kicks and strikes were absolutely incredible, I loved the brawl in the crowd and I was so invested in that match, wow. Best match I've seen of Hideki Suzuki so far, I saw a little bit of him and he is always interesting to me. Great technical contest too at the beginning of the match, the only negative point I have to say is when Nakajima did his Brainbuster, then Suzuki kicked out to do a big move like 5 seconds after that, forgetting to sell the move. Except that, that was enormous. ****1/2 |

| 12.09.2020 | Black Mass With Love | 0.0 | 0 points is a fail. And yes, this match failed miserably. It was very long and extremely boring. Nakajima and Suzuki showed nothing. And this is not an exaggeration. Katsuhiko is a great wrestler, but his work there was terrible, as was his opponent's. Not an ounce of storytelling, everything that the wrestlers did was forgotten after a minute. It's a pity that I cannot forget about the existence of this match. |
| 06.09.2020 | killowenskill | 1.0 | This is a disaster. This match is really nothing. It seemed to me that they were completely uninterested in working with each other and it would end faster, but there was a high bid for this match, it lasted 30 fucking minutes. And nothing, absolutely nothing in this match is worth your attention. Their exchanges of blows were forced and did not produce the desired effect. It was really strange for me to see this in Nakajima's match. Worst time limit draw in my memory. Useless stuff (1/2*). |

| 08.03.2020 | hagbardo | 4.0 | Suzuki is a good athlete, but does not know how to present his style in an interesting way. Often his matches start to get carried away only in the last minutes, when you are already beginning to get sleepy from what you saw earlier. Unfortunately, he is far from Sabre in terms of technical skill. |

| 20.02.2020 | Roach | 10.0 | A technical classic. Hideki just gets pure hatred out of people, and he did it here, allowing Nakajima to look like the charismatic badass star he is. The first part of this match had some of the best grappling ive seen in a long time, and the second half was filled with just absolute hatred and perfectly built to big moments. |

| 19.02.2020 | richeyedwards | 8.0 | There was a hell of a lot to like in this match but also a couple of glaring issues that regardless of the positives of the match could not be overcome. The grappling section followed by a good ten minutes of matwork at the start was all fairly excellent. I was surprised how much Nakajima held his own on the mat. He had good counters and predicted when Hideki would attempt to throw in an elbow or two and had the response ready. They followed this with some work on the leg of Hideki and then a lot of brawling around the outside. This was largely pretty good outside of one short part that did feel like time wasting. Hideki was good at his selling of his knee, never stopping him from doing anything but instead just slowing him down a bit and allowing Nakajima time to recover. The finishing stretch is where the issues come in. The match went to a 30 minute draw and at no time in the run in to the finish did it ever feel like one of the two had a chance at winning. The pacing of the match was that of one that would reach near the 40 minute mark rather than 30 so when they suddenly rushed to do a couple of finishers at the very end they didn't feel suitably built up to and instead thrown in because the match should have 2 of them. Also in doing this they no sold them as Nakajima hit the vertical spike but the next move was Hideki hitting the double arm suplex only 10 seconds later. It was all very rushed and it fell apart a bit at the end. A big shame considering how much work and careful build had gone into the first 25 minutes or so. It is very rare the to wish a match went longer, often I complain about matches being too long but very rarely, like in this case, the match was actually well paced to go really long but sadly didn't. A shame that it fell apart at the end because it was really building up for me at least to be something pretty special. ***3/4 I also really hate those invasive graphics, either make them half the size or get rid of them. |

| 18.02.2020 | Jetlag | 1.0 | Once in a while, I torture myself by watching a 30 minute long modern Japanese pro wrestling match. It's pretty depressing that these two largely refrain from all the stupid shit that makes modern wrestling unwatchable and still can't produce something good. They are booked to go long, so the opening section feels overly tentative and slow. Pretty much what you expect from two mediocre wrestlers. I liked Suzukis nasty Greg Valentine-ish basic moves and holds. As soon as they moved to do pointless floor brawling for what felt like 10 minutes the whole thing got really bad. Neither guy does any selling to draw you in and it's all lengthy strike exchanges and suplexes that are no sold from that point onwards. Nakajima is still pretty worthless as a worker, but at least he hits stupidly hard. He also does these embarassingly bad thigh slapping superkicks which look even more laughable in the context of a match between two guys with otherwise snug, no nonsense offense. Suzuki deciding to sell his leg at random is a good example why the match failed to build any heat. Watch if you hate yourself. |
| 18.02.2020 | ZaiahxSteel | 8.0 | Excellent contest! A great display of mat work for the first half of this match. Both men testing each other to see who was the better wrestler, while also having Nakajima constantly trying to annoy Hideki so that he would lose his cool. After that was over, it just seemed to break down as both men tried to out tough the other with a vicious display of strikes from both sides. From then on, it just turned into a straight up fight. They fought inside the ring, outside, and into the crowd just for good measure. And then the ending really topped it off with both men hitting their big moves, but neither man giving the other the satisfaction of them being put away by it. This was so good. My only complaint is that the mat wrestling could've been shortened down a bit and worked the crowd a bit more, but that's about it. This is as physical of a display of grit as you can get between two men. Most certainly seek this one out when you have the time. ****1/4 |
| 18.02.2020 | PuroresuLover | 9.0 | The match starts with a slow but great matwork and it just gets better as it goes. Once Nakajima starts hitting his sick kicks, he starts to kinda focus on Suzuki's leg and a chaotic war outside the ring starts. They're back to the ring and the war continues and it just gets better, they try to kill each other at any way possible, but the Time Limit Draw prevents them. This match had amazing spots and a beautiful final sprint, that was simply awesome. ****1/2 |
| 18.02.2020 | NastyYaffa | 7.0 | The match starts with some matwork & it takes the first 10-minutes or so. It starts off kinda meh, but as they continue going at it with them holds & looking to truly gain control over one another, it gets better as it goes. You can see Hideki's focus is Nakajima's neck & he works over it in quite nice fashion throughout. Now once Nakajima finally gets back into the thing w/ them lethal kicks, the match gets considerably more brawl-y, and they have a damn good fight outside the ring. Once they make it back to the ring, it's still a fun slugfest, but the runtime definitely starts to show itself there, as it does drag by the end, and it does feel like it goes on for some-minutes too long. Definitely a good match all in all -- some bits sure were meh, but some bits were GREAT & most of it was at least good. |

| 17.02.2020 | Cheker | 8.0 | I understand the gripe a lot of you had with this match's first half, but I don't agree. This started as a grapplefuck clinic through and through, human chess, the pinnacle of pro wrestling if you ask me. I love Suzuki, he's criminally underrated, and Nakajima hung with him on every move here. The crowd reacted more to the outside spots, but to me it brought things down. |
| 17.02.2020 | seriousbusiness | 8.0 | It's not like the first 10 minutes were boring per se, I know what they were doing was pretty educated technical wrestling, but it went on for way too long as a means to stretch out the match. I think once they started brawling outside and started beating the fuck out of each other is when this match got good. It went from a match that maybe didn't seem like they had chemistry together to a great back and forth that showed the best of both guys. I don't know if it was politics that got in the way of a winner, but I am definitely interested in a rematch. |

| 17.02.2020 | Makai Club | 7.0 | I liked the mat wreI liked the mat wrestling at the start. I was intrigued by Nakajima actually outmanoeuvring Hideki and staying in control. His holds looked fairly tight and effective. Hideki probably could've tried to do more defensive work on the bottom akin to Yuki Ishikawa but it was good. It dragged on long for my liking though. Nakajima attacking the leg was a neat segway, which he'd focus on several times throughout the match. Hideki sold it nicely at times as well. The finishing stretch was a bit of a let down. There wasn't much urgency until the last minute of the time limit and Hideki no selling the Vertical Spike sucked. Hideki popping up after an nearfall to hit the Robinson Suplex was Gargano/Cole territory of bullshit. Honestly, Hideki knows better. Flat ending but really enjoyable match with good mat wrestling and some good leg v neck storytelling. I think I prefer the Go match overall though. ***1/2 |

| 16.02.2020 | arrancar | 5.0 | If indie-puro fans love anything more than parroting the dead meme of "nothing happened in the first x minutes of this NJPW match", it's immediately pivoting and praising a truly dull-as-nail match like this, just because "omg it's so r e a l i s t i c". I can get behind grappling wrestlers like Sabre, Ogawa, and Gresham, so it's not like I see a grappling match and say "boooo I want a million finishers and kick-outs" (I thought the recent Sabre-vs-Ospreay match was great, after all). Hideki must just think that showing zero interest during his performances will somehow make him come off as a stoic badass. If you want a stoic badass, look at Misawa; that was a guy who showed minimal emotions on his face yet still showed immense energy and personality in his physical actions, hence why he was one of the greatest of all time. Hideki just never seems to care, whether he's delivering offence or selling for his opponent's offence. He must think he's making wrestling 'cool' because he's acting cold and focussed like an MMA fighter, but wrestling is MEANT to involve some amount of meaningful spectacle to set it apart from actual combat sports. It's not at all an exaggeration to say that barely anything happened for the first 20 minutes of this match. Both guys just lazily fought over a handful holds, messily brawled in the crowd a few times, and threw some bland strikes at each other. With how dead the first 10 minutes were, it was obvious that this was heading for a 30-minute draw, which sucked out a lot of my already minimal interest. The match marginally picked up in the final 10 minutes when both men decided to show an ounce of passion and start energetically trading strikes, but even then, the structure of that work was all still very generic, resulting in a series of exchanges that you already see from multiple puro companies multiple times a month. There wasn't even any sense of urgency in the near falls as the match finished. **1/2 |
