Naomi worked surprisingly well as a heel in this setting, and I actually liked that she got the win. Solid triple threat with a fun dynamic and great in-ring work."

It did it's job of delaying Rhea/Iyo and fueling the fire of their inevitable WM match. But rewatching it just now, I'd say it might be my favorite WWE match of the year. If we're comparing the two, they're two densely different triple threats, in development and styles mended. Naomi has never had a better match than tonight. The first half showed us the new monster she is in Women's wrestling, proving her heist was no fluke, and that this reign should prove wonders to the product. The magic Naomi's riding along with the wonderment that unleashes when IYO and Rhea collide is just the perfect pairings for the Wrestling Gods to gift us something lovely. I'm telling you, go rewatch this now if you've only watched it once. You'll see what I mean."

I liked this triple threat less than was at Mania, but it's also a great."

With the talent involved, the bar was sky-high, and while the action was crisp and the flow solid, it never quite hit that next level. Everyone had their moments, but the stakes didn't feel as intense as they should have. Still a very good match just shy of greatness."
[9.0] "Excellent opener. We know how good Rhea and Iyo are together, but Naomi was really good here with what she added. I liked the story beat that Iyo and Rhea were more than happy to start this match targeting Naomi after she interrupted their classic at Evolution. Naomi escapes with the win after some nearfalls that certainly had me. I'm glad they didn't use any extra-curricular activities here as we have a lot of no-DQ matches to come tonight."
[5.0] "Just a bunch of moves. No selling or pshycology. Big bumps and then they are fine and doing their own big move 10 seconds later. Yeah there were some "cool" moments but I fell a little flat for me. Idk if there was any feuds, I doubt it, but It didn't feel like a big match."
[7.0] "Good match for the women's world title. WWE has done really well recently with its women's triple threats, and they go to that formula again to open a PLE. While this was enjoyable, it didn't live up to the expectations. I was happy to see Naomi more involved than I thought she would be, considering she's a heel she easily could have done very little, but instead she was regularly in the action. The best parts of the match of course were when IYO and Rhea were facing each other. A pretty predictable finish with Naomi basically stealing the win by rolling up Rhea after she hit IYO with an avalanche Riptide that took her out. Noami wasn't going to lose the title so soon after winning it. There was something missing here, this never felt like a big match at any point in spite of everything going for it. 7.5/10"
[8.0] "Yeah this was a really good opener for the evening with lots of good action throughout. The action between Iyo and Rhea was top notch as expected with lots of excellent spots the reverse rana was especially good as was the powerbomb on the outside. But it is easy to see Naomi is not on the in ring level of Rhea and Iyo and it hurt the match for me as it meant the match became less fluid when she got involved a Rhea and Iyo have such brilliant chemistry. But Overall it was still an excellent opener that was better than 90% of the stuff on the card last night and this should of has more time and i was not a fan of the roll up finish tbh i just want to see Rhea and Iyo have a singles match with a definitive finish for once in my life. [9.0] "This was a very fun opener to kick things off for SummerSlam Night Two. Naomi being in this match was great I was so happy for her she deserves this more than everyone else. IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley had a brief alleince as they were going at Naomi the in-ring action was very nertaining. IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley battled it out and the crowd went nuts for it. It doesn't get old when they go up against each other. The ending sequence of the match was very entertaining. When they hit a Moonsault and Split Legged-Moonsault was a good moment, but Naomi got the reverse pin to retain her title, which was the right decision."
[6.0] "If the finish means we'll continue to have fresh faces in the women's main event scene then I'm all for it. Enough of Rhea, Becky, and Charlotte. The match was decent but I wasn't enamored with it. Certainly not bad but nothing special either."
[7.0] "Lots of shine on Naomi to start this, and rightly so considering how she won the title from these two in their last match. Iyo shows off her legit technical wrestling skills; she really is a talented, multi-faceted performer. Rhea hits a really impressive looking cannonball to Naomi on the outside. This was a solid opener and was pretty exciting throughout but it can't compete with the triple threat from maina earlier this year or Rhea v. Iyo from last month."
[8.0] "A great triple threat match to kick off night 2, any match with Iyo and Rhea will be a good one and Naomi despite being the weakest in the match definitely showed she can compete in 2025 with these women here. 8/10"
[7.0] "I think this match had high expectations to match the WrestleMania triple threat, which it did not, but that does not mean this was a bad match. It was very good all around. Naomi's entrance was sick to start with. You then have the temporary alliance teaming up against Naomi. Once you get Rhea and Iyo in the ring together it is just pure electricity every single time. Although I went in thinking Naomi had no chance of losing, there were moments where I thought it was over."
[7.0] "Really good opener, not a better match than the WrestleMania three-way, but definitely with a pace that I find more enjoyable, and that's because of Naomi, she was the thermometer of the match, and had a very good performance actually, she deserved the win, the way she dominated the match and played chess made the match what it was, it needed a heel doing heel works and dictating the rhythm, her knee strike was awesome. Naomi won after a roll-up on Ripley, which was the obvious choice, it's tough to imagine another finish - {***1/2}"

There were some callbacks to Iyo and Rhea's big matches, with Iyo getting a nearfall off of a moonsault the same way she won the Wrestlemania three-way with Bianca Belair. Rhea hit the Riptide off the top rope, calling back to Iyo and Rhea's match on Raw before Wrestlemania, but Naomi pulled Rhea into a pin for the win. This was not the Wrestlemania three-way with Bianca Belair. Naomi is not very good. **"
