[7.0] "This company, really, has one of the strongest Women's Divisions out there, if not the absolute strongest. I mean, just look at the field here and how they performed. This was better than the Men's Casino Gauntlet on the show, in my opinion. Also, Athena winning was not what I expected whatsoever, but it's certainly another interesting Casino Gauntlet winner on the show."
[7.0] "EASILY the better of the two gauntlet matches on the card, this was essentially a showcase match for a big chunk of the AEW womens roster. Starting with the two powerhouses in Stat/Megan was the correct choice to set the rest of the match up. Athena finally getting a LONG overdue spotlight in AEW is an unexpected yet very very welcome surprise here, would absolutely not be opposed to Athena dethroning Toni before the end of the year. Getting two big surprises in Syuri and Alex Windsor to close out the match was great, Windsors addition to the roster is almost guaranteed to provide us with some fun/fresh matches within the division in the very near future."
[7.0] "A pretty good match, but it didn't feel great to me. I'm happy that Athena got the win because she was my pick to win and I think she's an outstanding performer. I think it went too long like the Men's Casino Gauntlet Match. When you do two Casino Gauntlet Matches on the same show, it gets a lot of people on the card and I get that, but it also means a lot of time where people are laying on the floor doing nothing during the match. It's very repetitive when you see a 30+ minute match of people chilling on the floor for most of the match and then you see it with the women again. Anyway, I'm happy with Athena as the winner because she deserves a bigger spotlight in AEW even though she has been the ROH Women's Champion. ***1/4"
[8.0] "Much better than the men's casino gauntlet, following a bunch of rivalries throughout the match and generally better action. Although I expected more of a "Hoss off" between Statlander, Bayne and Willow :/"
[6.0] "Much better than the previous Casino Gauntlet on the card, though still altogether too long and bloated with too few enticing threads to follow throughout. Athena was the clear standout and deservedly got the win by pinfall. Not a perfect bout but it was engaging and enjoyable throughout."
[8.0] "The women's Casino Gauntlet worked way better than the Men's. From the participants to the pace of the match, to the rivalries ongoing in the division, it was a lot of fun. (****)."
[8.0] "This was so much more refreshing than the men's gauntlet match. I don't know a ton fo these ladies, but they have me intrigued enough to see more of them as I'm still sorting through 2021 on my watchthrough. Of course, the whole "lets' gather around on the floor so we can catch them" spot is infuriating and stupid every time."
[8.0] "I had a better time with this than I did the men's gauntlet match, but still wasn't the best I have ever seen. It had less of the stupid 1v1 situations that I don't like in matches like this, and the runins really added some excitement due to the increased number of bodies and wacky moments."
[7.0] "This was a lot better than the men's casino, because they actually kept things moving and they also shaved like ten minutes of time off of it which is good for a match like this. Overall a fun and good match ***1/2."
[7.0] "Better than the men's gauntlet match. I was a bit worn out from the Swerve/Ospreay and Bucks match, but that only affected the beginning for me. It was a lot of fun, and I'm very glad Athena won and is going to be featured more on AEW."
[7.0] "Good fun, just like the first one in the night. Absolutely loved the debut of Syuri and return of Alex Windsor. Again, good spots, plenty of high-risk offense that gave itself well to the match. The right woman won in the end, which will set up an interesting match in the future."
[7.0] "This one was a lot of fun, although it didn't have any many fun match ups as the men's one, which is probably because they don't give the women enough time on TV to build stuff. Love all the aminata and thekla bits, and Syuri and Alex Windsor made a strong debut. Athena winning felt right, she's just so good and needs to be on AEW TV more often. Overall a really strong showcase for all the talented(and hell I'll say it, beautiful) women AEW has in the locker room. *** 1/2"
[7.0] "The better casino gauntlet of the show is here. Bayne & Stat start off great - big moves on the outside from each are impressive crowd pleasers. Willow joins next because of course a rivalry spot is booked with Stat in the ring. There's a strange element to this match where 2nds get involved a fair amount even though they're not IN the match. Penelope gets in to save Bayne, Anna Jay counters her, Harley Cameron (who came from under the ring? ) does as well, then they chase each other to the back. It adds some fun and keeps things moving, but is mass interference going to be a part of these going forward? Skye Blue comes down with Julia Hart and gets heavily involved as well. She's in the ring a LOT and at one point Mina gets her to tap out on a figure four, but the ref has to tell her, "no you didn't win - Skye isn't in this match"! These aren't criticisms, just notable things that I don't think we've sen in previous ones to this degree. And, actually since this was shorter and more action packed than the Men's version, I think it's a good way to get more of your talent on the show without making it drag. We get Syuri and Alex Windsor debuts for decent pops. The only criticism I have is that with all of the women involved, there's still too much 1-on-1 with everyone else laying out on the floor. I understand the need to showcase spots and certain wrestlers, but you could at least have some side action going on at all times. Willow planting Athena with a death valley driver on the apron as Athena's leg got caught on a rope looked like an ouch. But, Athena does get the win on a great spot - sneaking up top from outside as Mina is about to finish off Rosa with a fig 4. As Mina turns, Athena leaps and hits her with the O-face and a 3 count. The hometown Dallas crowd loves it. I love it as an Athena fan hoping this is an AEW push (rather than RoH). And Athena was the 2nd of 3 winners to get legitimately emotional afterwards. All hail Athena."
[10.0] "This match was really good. It showcased the AEW woman a lot. MVP's for this match were Aminata, Thekla, Kris, and Megan Bayne. But all the women did great. I really loved this match. The aew woman have been getting more chances across the last few years and they knocked it out of the park this time."
[8.0] "The casino gauntlet structure is one that I inherently dislike for reasons I've talked about before, namely the lack of urgency to get a quick win going in the face of the rules of the match, and the strangely open ended feeling of it (do wrestlers just queue up around the building to see if it goes long enough to get in? ). But as the match type goes, this was definitely well executed, the pacing was on point to cover up potential logic flaws and the surprise names far exceeded those in the men's match in quality. Hyped for Syuri being around and pleased Athena won. This one just worked."
[7.0] "Overall, it had the same strengths and weaknesses as its male counterpart, although I preferred the ending and didn't really expect Athena to win. There were some nice surprises, although many of the names were expected, but some wrestlers really didn't get much exposure. In-ring quality: 1.5/4. Stakes: 1.5/2. Justification: 1/1. Place on the card: 1/1. Suspense: 1/1. Bonuses/penalties: none. Total: 7/10. Match seen on FITE TV."
[8.0] "Armed with palpable motivation and urgency, this smoked its male counterpart, which is no mean feat. As the night's second Gauntlet, the novelty of this was minimised, yet every grappler involved came out swinging. Pair that with surprising crowd response and you have a triumphant watch, even when the work wasn't silky smooth. ***3/4"
[7.0] "This match reminder me of all the talent in this division, but it's as if nobody is being utilized enough. They also could lowkey have women's tag belts."
[8.0] "Another good Gauntlet which was as good as the male one, the variety of starts was great too and I would argue that the spots were slightly better than in their counterpart too. ****1/4"
[8.0] "Actually enjoyed it better than men's match. Crowd was loud for it and every women showcased themselves tremendously. Athena winning is the right decision as she is long due for more spotlight in AEW"
[9.0] "Easily the best out of the two casino gauntlet matches on the show. A fantastic match between everyone involved with really amazing action and spots throughout, had more surprise entrants in Windsor and Syuri and the right woman won with Athena getting her All In moment in her home state."
[5.0] "Way too long, way too many participants, and not enough ideas to keep everyone busy and relevant. There were some nice surprises (such as Syuri), she came in, did a few spots and then just disappeared."
[9.0] "I really dug the Women's Casino Gauntlet more than the Men's version. Athena was the proper choice to go over. Within the match playing off of Aminata and Thekla was good as well as Alex Windsor and Syuri being allowed time to go at it was wise. Windsor/Syuri fresh off their EVE battle not too long ago allowed Syuri to get comfortable. Curious where it goes from here. There seemed to be set up of feuds etc within the match as I could see Megan and Tay going at it soon. The match was enjoyable and the ladies got to do their thing which is a win win."
[5.0] "Some great little match up's here but I'm still really not a fan of the Casino Match gimmick as a whole. Some really excellent wrestlers getting to pair up but also quite a lot of muddily fumbling about from some of the less experienced performers. The Skye Blue stuff whilst intended to be a fun run in, felt a bit silly, especially nearing the end of the match where there's a solid 5 or so minutes of just no one coming in so we can go to finish. Perfectly alright, some good wrestling spoiled by a poor match stipulation."
[6.0] "Way better than the men's casino as the women actually got to ring quickly. The stale problems for reaching the finish didn't really happened in this one, as the spots with all wrestlers also made up to some cool spots and something interesting was happening at basically every moment, so it flowed way better into a good finish."
[5.0] "Meh. The crowd was meh. The rhythm was meh. The impacts were meh. I think it's just me but I didn't like the match AT ALL. I don't know but my feeling about the Gauntlets this year were mixed. This match was better than the men's one, but I don't think it was up to the rest of the card. Happy for Athena though. Athena's finisher was very cool to watch."
[7.0] "[3.5*] Awesome match that was miles better than any of the first three matches. It was better than the Men's Gauntlet at literally everything lol. The Syuri surprise was awesome, the way all the stories between the participants were connected ruled a lot, I loved the spots and Athena was the best winner possible. Super successful match."
[7.0] "Significant improvement on the men's earlier in the night. Much more energy, felt faster and smoother. Could have done without the Skye Blue nonsense but that's really my only major complaint."
[8.0] "THIS right here is a fucking Gaunglet match ladies and gentleman, holy cow. Everything in this match almost looked perfect. The action between Thekla and Aminata was impecable, sequences with Syuri and Alex Windsor was great, the strange and creppy interaction of Thekla (the obvious MVP of this match) and Julia Hart was dope as fuck, I enjoyed this one, and like I said...almost perfect. Didn't like the job Thunder Rosa did here and honestly I think that both Kris and Willow showed good moves but nothing so agressive and brutal to represent their complex and conflictous friendship. At least, we got the right winner, again. The world belongs to Athena."
[7.0] "Wow, this was much better than the men's. There was tons of fun spots here, everyone seemed to have sense of purpose, or their own little story they were involved in, and the action was pretty consistent and the drama was quite high. I really liked the finish, and I feel the right person definitely won this match, overall it was quite good and maybe the best Casino Gauntlet ever."
[8.0] "I think this was the best casino gauntlet ever. Everyone did great, and there was good surprises. The women's division continues to show why they deserve more than what they get. Incredible match. Athena was the right winner."
[7.0] "I really enjoyed this match. This was much better than the Men's because it had more going on and flowed a little better. I do think the Skye Blue part was dumb because she could've just been in the match and since it's random intervals they could have just had her come right in before/after Julia. Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale are great as they always are."
[5.0] "This one was more entertaining than the men's match that's for sure, but the format of the match still drags it down for me. Another overly long match on this show already clocking in including pre-show over 4 hours and with 3 main events to go."
[7.0] "(7.25) very respectable, and young could tell the women were hungry for this match. I think it hits a little bit of a weak point in the middle and there's a huge lack of tension for. a match like this but some good high spots, plus the right winner, fun bit"
[7.0] "Dumb fun but better spots and wrestling in the dumb fun than the first one tonight. The Suprise debut of Syuri, Mina making Skye Blue tap and thinking she won but Skye not being in the match, Thekla/Julia budding Bromance spider suplexes, Aminata/Thekla heat, Willow/Stat heat, Athena/Thunder Rosa heat. The match was a great summary of the AEW Women's division stories, and Athena winning feels correct, She's done almost everything she can in ROH and this is a logical place for her to make her way to the main show."
[9.0] "This was much better than the Men's gauntlet (which was still pretty good) and overall one of the best matches of the night. It was well paced with a real sense of urgency throughout, and it did far better than the mens at keeping everyone involved instead of having some wrestlers disappear for excessively long periods outside of the ring waiting for whenever their next spot was (Mistico, I mean you! ). It really was a great advertisement for the women's roster (managing to feature almost everybody, including women not even in the match) and the hard work that's been done in the last couple of years to build it up, and leaves them in a really encouraging place going forward."
[7.0] "Best Casino Gauntlet of the night. Winner was less predictable (though with the line-up I expected Athena to have a good chance) so that helped it. Some good moments as well as some mixed moments. I popped for Alex Windsor, very much enjoyed that. I just wish they'd regulate the intervals more. You found it with this match more than the men's but it was in both. Some times it was under a minute between people coming out but then other times you'd get 2-3 minutes of no one coming out, and then the ending felt like an even longer period. I don't know, it kind of bothers me if in kayfabe we are meant to believe that there will be some people who drew numbers but were too far down in the order and it's too late for them to come out. Just something to maybe iron out in the future, it didn't matter too much."
[8.0] "LEAGUES above the men's casino gauntlet. The ladies went out there with something to prove and knocked it out the park. It was put together very well; little to no dead moments and the action was extremely cohesive with all ladies involved in some capacity multiple times. Bayne and Statlander was a great duo to begin things with; them joining forces at one point was very interesting. Thekla and Aminata continue their rivalry is an awesome sight to see; they might've found gold with these two. Harley coming back to take out Penelope was a nice moment, very cool to see her back. The debuts of Syuri and Alex Winsdor were great; both ladies shone big time as they battled against each other. It made feel both of them legit immediately. In the end, Athena picked up the victory following an O-face on Mina Shirakawa. Definitely the right choice; not just for the hometown pop, she deserves it to win and her win sets up so many great matches/stories. Great, great stuff all around. ****1/4"
[8.0] "This slapped and cleared the men's gauntlet by miles, It showed off the best of the Women's division (despite not including Toni, Mercedes and Jamie) all of the women in the match absolutely shined and made the most of every single minute they were in the ring. We got some great combinations of girls clashing in this match the like of Statlander and Megan going out it smacking each other to open the match. We also got another brawl between Aminata and Thekla give me the best of seven. We finally got to see Athena in a big spot and she was great and she finally got her big moment in AEW stealing the win from Mina who also looked great in this match, we got the debuts of Alex Windsor and Syuri who both looked awesome when they got to shine. the Likes of Julia, Thunder and Tay held there own and helped hold the match together, WIllow was immense as always with some great spots throughout. This match was so great as it was well paced with shorter gaps between the entrances. We also got a more flowing spread of action with things going on all around both inside and outside of the ring which made this so great and fun to watch. it was great to see so many women get there moment Infront of a big crowd. Please give us the women's C2. (****1/4)"
[7.0] "This was significantly better than the men's Casino Gauntlet match. It still has some of the annoying things about the match, like the random intervals and not knowing how many participants there will be, but the pacing here was pretty good. This also had plenty of moments that involved most, if not all, of the women in the match interacting together, rather than just being a revolving two-person match in the center of the ring at all times. Athena was the right winner."
[7.0] "Way more urgency in this one compared to the men's. I felt they did a better job than the men's in terms of making the match feel like one cohesive match, but it still felt largely like a series of sequences right after another. Cool to see Syrui, one of my favorites in the world, interested to see how her time in the US goes. Athena winning with an amazing finish seems like the right call. She's been sitting in ROH for so long, ready for a bigger opportunity, so strapping a rocket to to ger with an immediate main event push makes sense. It would've been nice to have more women's matches on the card beyond this and the Mone/Storm match. 3.5 stars."
[6.0] "***3/4 good match, better than the men's Gauntlet but still far below the All In 2024 Gauntlet, good entrances in a proper order, I liked that there were constantly people in the ring who were coming back after being knocked down, making the match more attractive, there was a "surprise" that was practically announced at Supercard Of Honor which was the arrival of Syuri, there were some good moments, it was much more entertaining than the men's and it didn't last too long, perhaps the bad thing was that in the end like 3 minutes passed and no one entered, which makes no sense if it has been said that people will enter until there is a winner and it seemed as if no more people were going to enter"
[7.0] "This was a lot of fun. This was miles better than the Men's Casino Gauntlet Match and was the perfect timespan, as this match went for around the twenty-five-minute range. The in-ring action was great. Thekla looked great, Megan Bayne was the muscle of this match with Kris Statlander. Willow Nightingale was the red-hot baby face of the match. Athena coming in was great as she was my choice for winning this match, and she indeed did. Now she has a future AEW Women's World title Match, and I'm glad she'll because I'm ready to see Athena and Toni Storm."
[8.0] "Really fun match, plenty of action and some cool surprises. Hello Syuri! Easily the better of the two Gauntlet matches on the show, it flowed better and had more storylines going on. Nice to see Mina and Syuri in the ring again, Athena getting a big pop and a hell of a cool win too. Love that for her. Cool way to start off too with Megan and Kris as the giants, got a little bogged down when others got involved who weren't even in the match."
[9.0] "mina thinking she got the win on skye tapping out was comedy gold. loved this match, it was great. so many ongoing stories in the women's division leading into this PPV and they all got a brief chance to shine in this gauntlet match. right woman won. wish nyla had been there though"
[8.0] "In comparing this to the men's gauntlet, the biggest thing here is predictability. I had no idea who was winning until Athena got the pin. No big surprises, but these women wrestled their hearts out. This match is the gold standard for how these casino matches should look, even without the extra spectacle of a return."
