Akito vs. Jun Akiyama

Akiyama hasn't had to be a come-from-behind Babyface for a while given that his role these days is largely as the grizzled vet that just over powers and bullies his opponent. Akito was the perfect person to get that old magic out of him by keeping this mostly a grounded affair, targeting Akiyama's knees and doing every dastardly trick he could to steal a win instead of confront Akiyama directly. It's magnetic stuff and it effortlessly blends in to some of the humor of the match, with Akito jawjacking ref Matsui and nearly getting fast counted out of the ring."

[6.0] "Good match for a small show, Akito is always very smooth in the ring and even when Akiyama is taking a night off there is still something special about seeing him hit that Exploder Suplex. Not sure if I'd recommend going out of your way to watch, but I enjoyed. 3.25 stars"
