[8.0] "It was a good opener. I like that they continue doing more World X Cup stuff and keep alive the Jerry Lynn vs Team Canada feud. The match was very good and all wrestlers showed fire. Jerry Lynn started the match with a hurricanrana and some stomps in thr corner to Roode. Later he counters a slam with a reverse DDT. Roode's offense was very impacful and his strikes looked powerful and his presence was felt in the ring. For example he counters a Tornado DDT with a knee lift and a punch to the back, later hits a strong spear. Heavy Metal did some of his lucha stuff, with a handspring back elbow and does a cannoball off the apron at the end of the match. The Lynn vs Petey Williams parts were very decent, I really liked Lynn's tilt a whirl backbreaker, how Williams countered the guillotine leg drop or how Lynn later backdrops Williams over the top rope onto Roode, who had been sent to the floor with a dropkick. After Roode's spear with a secret tag they work a Face in peril segment over Heavy Metal. It was good as they cut the ring in half, with many tags and hurting him. They did strikes, stomps, Roode hit a double underhook suplex and a wheelbarrow bulldog. I liked how they cut some of the tag attempts. I liked the three consecutive rope breaks sequences with D'Amore trying to break them. Finally, Metal tags Lynn and hits a sit down powerbomb for a two count. Lynn counters the Canadian Destroyer with a Kryptonite Krunch. There's a ref bump and Lynn gets knocked out by Eric Young, who hits him with the hockey stick. The ending was a bit weak, but the match was fine. I'm loving this Team Canada matches and segments. Before the match D'Amore was hyping them to take down Lynn."

[4.0] "I don't have a lot of nostalgia for the Asylum years as I started watching TNA five months after this. So this whole look still feels foreign to me. Before I start, Jerry Lynn teaming with a guy named Heavy Metal is so peak. Now, this match is boring. Which when you see these names you wouldn't think so, but Petey & Roode aren't as good as they would be barely half a year later. This match is just heat heat heat, and then we get an overbooked old school territory finish. Like I don't have much to say because it felt like nothing happened. Heavy Metal fucked up a dropkick, Jerry Lynn had some good fire, Petey's counter to that Guillotine Legdrop spot was cool. That's really all that happened, this was match that existed. Two Stars out of Five."
