[8.0] "Oba Femi has quite literally mastered these David vs Goliath type matches. Myles Borne was great here. I did believe for a sec that Myles would win but it was obvious he wouldn't at the end of the day. Another great defense for Oba."

The match picked up during Borne's comeback in the last third but missed it's peak and finished with Oba Femi running through treacle and rushing the end sequence due to being out of gas."

Myles was really cool too he showed a lot of heart! Genuinely wanted Myles to win near the finish it was crazy lol. Get him in a G1 or BOSJ! ****"

I think Borne could do with a slightly larger moveset. Nonetheless, he looked like a potential future champion here. Oba Femi was just too good."

[4.0] "No Story here for a title match on a PLE. Somehow a chokeslam is a transitional move now. For God's sake. Myles has no charisma, so this was quite dull to watch and i did not care for his comebacks, he just did generic 2025 wrestler moves and looks like a default create a wrestler. Nothing particularly stood out, and they really overdid it with the boring near falls for the sake of near falls to get the surface level pops. This match sadly made Oba look weak as hell and not a force of nature like how he should be booked."

[8.0] "Very good match. Nice showing from Myles borne who should be a much more prominent member of Nxt, especially with the current state of the men's division. I kind of wish Oba brought it to Myles a little more tho. This could of been much better if Myles had to dig deep just a little more. Was still good tho but just an observation I have made from watching this. I'm not sure I would of had this match be longer than Stephanie's match with Jordynne Grace, and even go longer than some of the singles matches Oba has had with opponents with far more experience than Myles. We move tho. ***3/4"

[8.0] "This gets the same rating as Stephanie/Grace, but it got there a different way. The Women's Championship match was about their in-ring ability, this was about the story. Not that the in-ring wasn't good, it was, but I really enjoyed the story of an unexpected challenger hanging in there and bringing it to the Champ. If you know the match isn't the main event, there absolutely should be more surprise contenders like this. Myles Borne was elevated so much higher in defeat here and I'm sure he'll be facing bigger things after it than he was before. Oba Femi's dominance rolls on, although there were some nice near falls here that made you believe he could be upset. Really good stuff."

[8.0] "This was definitely a much better match than I thought it had any right being, but than again I currently haven't been following WWE for something like 3 years until now. That being said, Oba is just an absolute unit of a guy isn't he? He's the kind of guy you look at walking around with a world title and think to yourself "that makes sense". I basically had the same reaction. Anyways, as for the match itself it actually ended up being a great display by both men, primarily for Oba but also Myles. It's just that Oba, on top of looking dominant, is actually very good in the ring, and is just great at kind of standing out with his style. That being said, Myles is quite good as well (kinda looks like a bastard child of Randy Orton) and despite Oba just bulldozing him at the start, still put on a great underdog performance and got his licks in, seems like he can actually go in the ring. Regardless yeah, I'm still in the process of refamiliarizing myself with profession wrestling and get up to date, but they definitely did more than enough here for me to consider this a great match. ****"

Am also not a fan of this seeming split in the NQCC, and the disbanding of Borne and Heights as a tag team, who I thought had great potential together. In ring though of course, both wrestlers did a great job."

[7.0] "Oba/Borne exceeded expectations the most on the night with a well laid out match that made the fans believe Myles could do it here. Borne put in a Herculean effort here, busting out moves he's never done before and then showcasing his underrated strength against the larger opponent. Femi has shown so much growth over the last two years where he can grip the audience into his matches by giving his opponents these hope spots before snatching victory away with his unbridled rage and power. Very good semi main (***3/4)."

Oba femi was fighting like a pure boss while Myles Borne was there to give his best to prove himself. He actually failed in the last, but deserve respect. (****1/4)"

[8.0] "(8) Very solid match. I think it suffers a little from the fact that Bourne was never really going to win, and he didn't have any real bit that made be believe that I may be wrong, but overall I think he had a great babyface performance. The comeback took a little while to get to but it showed a lot of what Bourne had to offer, and hopefully we stay consistent with his (and the entire NQCC) booking, as the men's division needed a match like this to elevate others, something I hope they trust Oba to do more down the line."

[6.0] "A decent enough slice of Wrestling 101 - today's lesson being the David vs. Goliath match. The commentary team did a brilliant job of selling the highs and lows of Borne's slightly rickety underdog journey and the initially indifferent crowd were briefly buying into the upset big time, right up until they overplayed their hand a tad ***1/4"

[7.0] "Good match for the NXT title. There wasn't anything complicated here. Oba beats down Borne for a few minutes, Borne makes a comeback before getting beat down again. They didn't really stray from that formula and for this kind of match it didn't need to go as long as it did. Borne puts up a good fight, but eventually Oba is finally able to put the challenger away and retain the title. It was nice to see someone new get a chance to prove themselves and I thought Borne did a fine job. While there certainly are worse wrestlers to cosplay than Orton, he could tone it down a little to stand out on his own. 7/10"

[8.0] "Who said Oba was only good in triple threats again? Nice David vs. Goliath match. Although yeah, the first minutes of Oba man handling Myles all over the place were dull, they were necessary to build momentum. One thing, I did NOT like Myles fully embracing this Randy Orton cosplay gimmick, way too much standing dropkicks, and I really thought he was ready to hit an RKO for a 2.95 near fall. Anyway, if this is a one-night thing, it gets the pass from me. Oba winning in dominant and decisive fashion was the right call, maybe they can run it back later."

That corner splash into German suplex spot was the moment this match clicked for me and from that point I was fully in for a great stretch of the match. Solid stuff here."

[9.0] "What a breakout performance by Myles Borne. This match made a man tonight, and the bet HBK took on this kid has been fulfilled because he swam with the sharks instead of sinking. The match had no expectations. I said I hope Myles Borne shocks everyone and swims with the big dawgs, and he did just that. I'm happy with the performance of Oba Femi. I feel like he should just relinquish the title instead of losing because no one can beat them. But man, after this match, I feel like Myles Borne should be the next WWE NXT North American Champion. he just shocked me in this match, and he looked like a baby Randy Orton with the powerslam he did, which looked identical to Randy's version of it. But I'm going to rewatch this match because this was a great match."

diamondtaker324 wrote on 26.05.2025:
[4.0] "Simply put the reason why I am rating this match so low is because I just could NOT care less about Myles Bourne. And the only reason I'm not rating even lower is because Oba Femi always delivers a great performance. This was mainly just a squash match where they only had a few times that made Myles look strong but would immediately show Oba is just on another level. And even though my interest in this match lacked, the true biggest problem is that this match lasted way too long and would likely be another point or so in the right direction had it be even 5 minutes shorter."

[8.0] "Might be a hot take but this was my Favourite match from the show. Not just because the performances of both wrestlers. But because of just how much good NXT managed to take from a dire situation in their lack of Main Event talent. Femi looked great and is probably the best Monster Heel we have seen in a long time and at this rate by the end of his carrer, he'll be the best ever. Borne pulled out a phenomenal underdog babyface performance. It's simple, big monster champion VS Underdog babyface challenger. But it's done to perfection. Props to both of them for delivering maybe not the best, but one of my favourite World atitle matches this year.awesome match indeed."

[9.0] "I went in with zero expectations, and they completely won me over. Even though I never fully believed Borne was going to pull off the upset, the underdog "Rocky" vibe was incredibly compelling. It felt like someone way out of his depth stepping up against a dominant champion, and making it matter. Easily one of the most memorable things NXT has done in quite a while. And Oba has this monstrous look that just makes anyone else around him look and mean much more by the end of it, Bourne is one of the best wrestlers with a disability, and I'm glad that never hinders him."
MyTwoSenseReal wrote on 26.05.2025:
[10.0] "This was a solid challenge for both competitors to handle a match of this length on a PLE stage, and they managed it well. Oba still has some growing to do before hitting that next tier, but matches like this offer valuable experience, and he's clearly on the right track. I haven't seen too much of Myles' work before this, but he looked sharp in the ring and came across as genuinely likable in the lead-up promos. His performance here showed real potential. The in-ring work was outstanding, but even more impressive was the emotional depth, it's rare to feel that level of connection in a match, especially from two rising stars like these."
MeltzerMark wrote on 26.05.2025:
[9.0] "This match was all about making Myles Borne look like he belonged in the deep end, and it absolutely succeeded. Oba Femi's dominance was never in question, but the way Borne chipped away with smart technical wrestling gave the bout real weight and drama. Oba having to hit two additional Fall From Grace finishers after Borne kicked out of the first told the story perfectly: Borne may not be champion material just yet, but he's no easy out, and that's a major step forward for him. While Borne didn't walk out with the title, the performance clearly positioned him for something meaningful going forward, North American Championship contention seems like the next logical step. This match made it clear he's ready for that level."

[8.0] "The match had me absolutely glued to the screen. Sure, the in ring stuff was incredible and I'll talk about it, but I rarely felt that much emotion throughout a wrestling match, what a showing from this two very young fellas. Oba Femi continues to get better and better every single time he wrestles, not just getting more athletic and confident but also showing some technical prowess. Myles Borne is one of the people that also represents how bright WWE's future really is, very good technical and high flying wrestler, who'll just get better with time. Extremely fun match, very emotional."

I can't say this blew my mind at all, in fact it was a little disappointing, but it was a good physical title match. Oba's heat segments worked well, but his cutoffs are always awesome. Myles had some really cool moments to get the crowd to believe in him, my favorite being the catch of Oba into the German. For its spot on the card this worked, but I do wish they had gotten more out of it. ***1/4"

Good match , and myles is like a young version of randy Orton I wanted him to hit a rko but that would've been copying randy and myles is his own man so that makes sense he didn't. There is tension in the no quarter catch group as they weren't out supporting myles and Dempsey gave myles a glare."
