[5.0] "Another Plunder hurt syndicate match. I wish MVP would just be fine with missing a ppv. Instead we get filler matches and the show ends up being longer. I also don't care for Sammy or Dustin do it hurts it too since neither are good right now to me."

[6.0] "Easily the weakest match on the card, which is a shame because I do like everyone here. However, it's a compliment to the show, as a whole, considering that I didn't dislike this whatsoever. The Sons of Texas are not a duo I'm super interested in and I also never thought they were winning here. I get why they were the challengers, though, as they've both been here since the first day of the company and this is, kind of, an anniversary event, after all."

It was slow paced most of the way with THS working over Sammy as the face in peril and the challengers came close a few times, but we knew they had no chance. Lashley and Benjamin are fun to watch as a team. I don't see them losing any time soon, but if they do lose, then I want FTR as the next champions. **1/4"

[3.0] "This was a poor effort by everyone involved. The Hurt Syndicate's Brian Cage style of getting their shit in and otherwise not putting the work in continues to be a frustrating trend. Bobby Lashley appears to be worse even compared to his WWE in-ring performances. Shelton Benjamin is more willing to do the work, but Hurt Syndicate being booked and blocking out the match to be so dominant makes him look as disconnected from putting on an actually good match as everyone else. Dustin and Sammy were never given proper opportunities to be presented as faces worth cheering for, which is baffling considering how great Dustin is at comebacks and Sammy is at big spots. This match should have been better. The wrestlers in this match should have put more effort in. But I don't see how that's necessarily realistic so long as the Hurt Syndicate is unwilling to work at the kind of level expected of AEW wrestlers when they're fine getting by on their popularity. Hopefully, the crowd turns on them soon."

Cavazos01 wrote on 08.06.2025:
[4.0] "**3/4 decent match, as usual the Hurt Syndicate is one of the worst in AEW PPV's, meh chemistry, they had botches and lack of fluidity, normal pace but very driven by Guevara, Dustin and Lashley did not follow the rhythm so well, some normal sequences (driven by Guevara) and a very simple ending, nothing interesting in this, the Hurt Syndicate is one of the worst in AEW currently"
DJChiliWonka wrote on 07.06.2025:
[6.0] "Bobby takes charge of the match to start quickly attempting to cut the ring in half to keep Dustin away from Sammy. Shelton and Sammy have some good back and forth. Sammy does some good acrobatic moves but Shelton ends up shutting him down before tagging Bobby back in. Bobby and Shelton take over beating up on Sammy. MJF even gets some offense in on Sammy while the ref isn't looking. Sammy finally gets some momentum and reverses a back body drop into a pop-up stunner. Sammy is then able to get the hot tag to Dustin. Dustin ends a nice sequence with a big Code Red for a two count on Shelton. Dustin hit this move really well for his age. Dustin then sets Shelton up in the corner for the Unnatural Kick, which I believe was called Shattered Dreams in the WWF if I'm not mistaken. As Dustin attempts the Unnatural Kick, Bobby tries to come in but Sammy super kicks Bobby to stop him and MJF tries to come in as well. As the ref is distracted by MJF, Dustin is able to hit the Unnatural Kick on Shelton in the corner. Shelton is able to lock in an ankle lock on Dustin. Dustin gets Shelton in a Crossroads position as Sammy hits a shooting star press on Bobby to the outside of the ring. Dustin hits the Crossroads on Shelton but only for a two count. I like how coordinated the attacks are by The Sons of Texas. I like that someone's always there to cover the extra guy. This is a pretty decent tag match compared to some of The Hurt Syndicate's matches I have seen. MJF gets up on the apron to try and offer The Dynamite Diamond Ring to Shelton. Bobby interferes to tell him no. The Sons of Texas end up getting a little bit of momentum off of this, but Bobby ends up hitting a spear on Sammy. Shelton goes to pin Sammy but Dustin pulls Shelton out of the ring. Bobby tries to spear Dustin but he hits a big boot on Bobby. MJF and Dustin get into it on the outside of the ring. MJF threatens to hit Dustin with The Dynamite Diamond Ring. Once again Bobby is there to stop MJF. MJF and Bobby reconcile with the fist bump and then Bobby spears Dustin through the barricade into the crowd. It was pretty gnarly. I'm honestly nor sure if I have ever seen a barricade spot like that before. Bobby and MJF celebrate on the outside of the ring. Sammy sees an opportunity to dive onto Bobby and MJF who are on the outside of the ring. Shelton intercepts the dive with a big knee before Sammy is able to execute the dive. Shelton hits a running knee and a stiff thrust kick on Sammy before pinning Sammy for a 3 count. The Hurt Syndicate retain their AEW World Tag Team Championships."

Thankfully, both are just entertaining enough to keep this afloat, even when things somewhat fall apart. Rhodes' age is admittedly apparent here, but there is a genuine joy to Guevara being launched around by The Syndicate. It's a messy piece of business, but it's certainly not boring. **3/4"

The crowd wasn't into the babyfaces and the action wasn't very interesting. Guevara had a couple of cool spots, but Dustin's really slowing down. There were some misunderstandings between MJF and the Syndicate, but they were able to put things asaid in order to win. Bobby spearing Dustin through the guardrail was the best moment of the match. **3/4"

The MJF storyline is silly and goofy but i love it, it was nice seeing Bobby Lashley finally accepting MJF in the group and being happy that he's here. Even if I know MJF will eventually betray the Hurt Syndicate, but I will enjoy the ride until then. Bobby and Shelton simply do not age, the dudes look like they are in their 30's even if they are slowly but surely approaching their 50's. A great match, and MVP on commentary is always great."

I also enjoyed the concept that TT dominating ROH meets TT dominating AEW and obviously Hurt Syndicate were destined to win this. Match was fine, I mean Im not really up to watch Dustin Rhodes at this age on PPVs but match was ok. I didnt like the role of MJF here. He had NO ROLE. He's best what AEW has to offer and his utilizing these days is scandalus. He was biggest persona here and wasnt doing anything important."

AEW should hang its head in shame for going from a place where tag wrestling was a proud feature to a place with a poorer tag team division than WWE. AEW literally does not have enough tag teams to keep the world tag titles story moving."

I can appreciate that Bobby and Shelton have reinvented themselves post-WWE, and that both definitely had a lot more to offer in AEW, but I've always thought their matches were lacklustre, and left too much to be desired. Of course, that's not helped at all by their opponents, in this case being Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara. At the end of the day, there was nothing too remarkable here, as it was just another throwaway match to help further the MJF and Hurt Syndicate story (why are we still doing this? ) ***"

Rhodes and Guevarra are good in ROH, but not here (especially Rhodes who struggled to keep up the pace). MVP on commentary was fun, as was the constant will-he-won't-he with MJF at ringside. Overall though, pretty forgettable match, especially given those that have come before it on the card."

These random tags against mid-bottom ranked teams ain't it. AEW's tag team division seems to be lacking right now so that might be more of the problem."

Hurt Business being champs looks great, but they've got no tag division to beat up right now. That's all they need, good teams to destroy and hopefully put a new team over by the end. (With Max likely causing their loss)"

[8.0] "Some people are being harsh on this match, some are rating it low just because there wasn't much story behind it which I think is really unfair when we're supposed to be rating the match itself, not the feud. I watches this not knowing what to expect, and not being a huge fan of Hurt Syndicate (I prefer high flyers generally over brawlers) but this match was actually pretty good. Lashley and Benjamin are very competent wrestlers for their age and they took offense just as well as they dished it, Lashley's slams are a thing of beauty and Shelton is very well rounded. They wrestle like they're in their 30s so I wouldn't have thought their collective age was 97. Sammy is an exciting guy to see, even if he lacks charisma. He's a fun flippy guy and seeing him fly around in the ring and to the outside is fun, and Goldust is surprisingly good for his age and has a familiar moveset, fun striker and has one of the best powerslams in the business too."

I feel like most of their matches are them overwhelming their opponents and not meshing well. The Sons of Texas whilst on the surface is an odd pairing but giving Sammy & Dustin history they do well together especially since their day 1 in AEW. Hurt Syndicate with MJF is still odd to me tho I have an idea where this might be going."

[5.0] "I enjoyed this one quite a bit. It felt shorter than the actual time it got, probably due to the pacing. Dustin was nice, showing guts at first, even though he was completely outmatched, and his second tag had some nice fire to it. Sammy, I thought, looked good here using his speed, especially as he rushed Lashley, using Bobby's momentum against him, taking to the air, and although Bobby was very giving to Sammy in particular, it wasn't at the expense of him still coming across as a monster with some of those spots, like when he flipped Sammy on his shoulders, and the spear outside was sick. The camera work in the last 4 minutes was not good. **3/4"

Ozwern wrote on 28.05.2025:
[2.0] "Yet another Hurt Syndicate match that was a complete waste of time on a PPV. It's funny how no one questions why they're booked constantly on these PPVs when they contribute absolutely nothing other than latching onto MJF to do their repetitve and outright boring storyline that is going nowhere. This match had no life to it, the challengers are a team that nobody cares about so this turning out the way it did wasn't really that surprising. Every PPV match they've had so far have been some of the worst parts of PPVs but you know they are total badass killers and all that."

[6.0] "Meh. THS doing cool powerhouse stuff and Sammy taking some good bumps. An ok match with nothing to highlight. Underwhelming for an AEW PPV but I guess it's never going to be all bangers. THS needs to be involved with the top of the division."
BunkFunk44 wrote on 28.05.2025:
[6.0] "(6.0) I didn't need this at all. "Sons of Texas" don't move the needle at all for me. Sammy has fallen far from his once-lofty status as one of the four AEW "pillars". Dustin is good at times, but he's never intrigued me in-ring even at the height of Goldust. This now marks the third straight PPV title defense for the Hurt Syndicate where they have an underwhelming opponent, following The Outrunners and then Big Bill & Bryan Keith (Learning Tree). No disrespect to Big Bill - who is great - but it's ridiculous that this has been The Hurt Syndicate's reign. The problem is twofold: 1) They've been wrapped up in the far-too-long story of MJF's "will he or won't he" attempt to join their group. Even if that saga had been half as long, it's not involving another tag team. So, there's no feud or legit challenger. 2) The tag division is too fragmented. FTR is apparently on another trajectory after their turn, EVP Young Bucks are involved with the Death Riders story, and there's not a single other tag team that's being built up. Private Party disappeared after losing to H.S., Top Flight is just sort of always there as a mid-card filler (no matter how good or entertaining they can be), CRU is less than nothing, and GYV has only just returned to the fold. I thought The Righteous were intriguing, but the crowd never took to them, they got pushed down to ROH, then let go (I think this is a mistake). Gunns are M.I.A. Gates of Agony have been given a bit of TV action lately, and matched up well against H.S., but are apparently not worthy of a PPV rematch? I don't know why. They have it all. So, unless we get a Callis Family duo, or Buddy Matthews gets healthy for a Hounds of Hell tag run, IDK what we're doing. Lashley & Benjamin are magnetic stars, but without a legit rival, they're just there, doing a side story with MJF. This match had good action, and a few missed spots involving Sammy. But, it was mostly about the ringside drama and moments with MJF. Even MVP on commentary couldn't elevate above worst on the card."

[2.0] "I mean, better than their previous PPV matches but still bad (or at least bad for me) this was boring only MJF interactions were funny, what a waste of time, this is one match that should've happened on TV and not on PPV, and Dustin and Sammy are a pretty uninteresting tag team for me and I just want Dustin to drop those titles and give to some trio and team who desereved more, and please TK do something to fix this tag division"

[7.0] "So this match honestly really surprised me with how decent it was. Starting off I felt that this was just another tag title defense that should have been on TV, but the MJF antics really elevated this match. Dustin and Sammy didn't particularly shine here, you could have put any jobbers in this spot and the match would have been the same, but they worked a good match regardless. The Hurt Syndicate has had a bit of goofiness baked into them for a while but MJF taking over that role while Shelton and Bobby look like giants is an incredible chemistry. I don't expect this trio to last for long but in the meantime this was a fun match that I think proved it deserved to be on this card."

All in all a decent match which would of been good on a Dynamite like the 4 hour one coming up but on the type of ppv tonight was it will be forgotten very quickly can we please build up some bigger threats to THS please god. The MJF angle is predictable, it'll end with MJF being betrayed and or betraying them in a month or two, most likely leading to MJF's next feud.
