[6.0] "As a hater of the John Cena Retirement Tour I think this is a pretty unfairly hated match. A waste of a John Cena match? Sure but it's not like he'd make the most of much else he'd participate in afterwards. I can also understand the frustration with how short it was but given R-Truth's spot on the card at the time it would've made no sense to give Truth more time and offence than this. Truth got to do his five moves of doom and Cena tributes but the guts of this match was to make Cena more of a heel and I think it worked to the best degree possible. People were never gonna stop chanting "thank you Cena" but Truth got such a great reception whenever Cena would throw him around. Had this resulted in a better run for Truth and had the Retirement Tour not been such a disappointment I think this match would be forgiven"
[0.0] "This was straight up garbage, and what a waste of one of John Cena's final matches. This was long squash match that meant absolutely nothing I'll never understand why they did this. John Cena was at his heel worse in-ring wise and Truth was at his comedy worse with his unfunny humor. The wrestling was meh honestly, but the story going into this was terrible, just a waste of time for Cena and the fans."
[2.0] "Hm, great use of one of Cena's final dates right? No, this was stupid crap and emblematic of the many glaring problems with this entire run. Could have had him do something at least vaguely interesting but sure let's do this dog crap instead."
[2.0] "A waste of time. If you exclude his retirement match, this was John Cena's final ever SNME and this is what they do. A 4 minute match with a screw heel finish. Very annoying if you ask me. I wanted him to defend against a La Knight or Jacob Fatu."
[4.0] "This was fun for what it is, the problem is that Cena has limited matches and they wasted one here. I had some fun watching it, i just think they should have done something more with John."
[1.0] "What are we even doing anymore, dude. I cannot sit here in good conscience and write something constructive about this match. It is 4 minutes and a total of what feels like 6 moves being done. This is only getting a 1 because it at least gave R-Truth something to do with his hero before his retirement."
[3.0] "Violently uneventful but ultimately harmless, would've been nice if Cena won clean but I can't complain. R-Truth coming out to Cena's theme with a personalized retirement tour shirt was funny."
[0.0] "1/2 * Horrid squash, an unnecessary waste of time on Cena's retirement tour. They squandered a match that could have been against someone like LA Knight, who would have greatly benefited from a brief rivalry against heel Cena. But they shouldn't waste that opportunity on R-Truth, and the worst part is that they didn't even try. Two or three moves were decent, but beyond that, it seemed like a match between two legends in their 60s who only know how to do their basic moves and don't want to risk anything more."
[4.0] "if you're going to this thing where R-Truth dresses up as Cena, then its not be taken serious. I just wish they went all the way with it and had a real match than 4 mins."
[5.0] "[2.5*] This was honestly mad fun lmao. Not unnecessarily long, they kept it short and told a nice little story. For a Non Title Match on the midcard, the whole thing was nice. Truth entering with Cena's babyface entrance and making his comeback truly set the crowd on fire. There's no reason to hate this one imo, I really enjoyed it."
[4.0] "There really wasn't a point of doing this, I like Truth but imagine we got Cena VS Knight because we probably won't get that, yes Truth's entrance was funny but that's all I really have to say."
[2.0] "A complete waste of time. There was no real story, no intensity and nothing memorable to take away from it. Both are capable of much better but this felt lazy and unnecessary. Forgettable in every sense."
[5.0] "This was probably the most enjoyable match on the card. I loved R-Truth's attire, and it didn't go too long. I'm just not sure if using one of Cena's limited dates for R-Truth was a wise decision."
[7.0] "This a weird one. Why we can rate it if it's under 5 minutes doesn't sound right but maybe because of what happened before and after the bell. I was disappointed that these camera men couldn't do their job properly. They never showed Little Jimmy on camera once. I know Cena can be hard to keep up with on camera but I didn't see him at all during this match. For these reasons this is only a 7 instead of a 10. R-Truth deserves al the credit for carrying this match."
[4.0] "The best Cena singles match since... forever. And one of the rare sub 5 minutes rateable match. Now it wasn't good, far from it. But at least it didn't last 20 minutes, it was a squash. They did their things and that's it, not much to say. I do think the moment Cena "hesitated" was very nice and his facial expressions were very believable, finally something somewhat positive about this heel run. [**]"
[4.0] "Considering this was a squash match and nothing more. I got what I was expecting, a short squash match where Cena does his usual moves then lets R Truth take the spotlight. I guess that's how it is when you book two people with no chemistry in a match."
[5.0] "Cena jumps the bell like the true heel he is. Truth does some good bumps for Cena. Cena hits the shoulder tackles and five knuckle and truth gives it right back to him. More great bumping from truth and Cena grabs the title. For a second it seems like he's not gonna use it but it's a fake out to distract the ref for a ball shot and an AA. Another short match for this SNME and it wasn't anything it didn't need to be, but not much to write home about."
[4.0] "It was a very short match, but it was fun. There's not much to evaluate in terms of the match itself, but Cena not hitting R-Truth with the title gave me some hope that he might be a face during this farewell tour. So far, though, this final run as champion has been awful and really needs to improve."
[7.0] "Despite not being a fan of Cena, I really actually quite liked this match. R-Truth is just so incredibly likeable that had he done an angle with a rubber band I would have booed that rubber band out of the building in blind support and adoration for R-Truth. I enjoyed Ron Cena, I enjoyed R-Truth pulling off all of Cena's moves. It was just fun. R-Truth deserves the world."
[3.0] "About as good as this match could ever have possibly been. More of an angle than a match, showing just how far Cena has gone that he's destroying his biggest cheerleader. Inessential and nothing."
[6.0] "I thought the match was pretty entertaining. They were never gonna do anything groundbreaking with Cena vs. Truth and this was about exactly what I was expecting. Both played the roles they were given and did the best with the little time they had."
[3.0] "Kind of ... nothing. I enjoyed R-Truth decked out in Cena garb, that was cute. Him doing Cena's moves, also cute. A match can't just be cute though. Should this have been Truth's retirement match? Probably. The Cena heel tour is losing me and I want to like it so bad. This could have been really brutal and gotten Cena some real heat."
"This match was the most entertaining of the night and is possibly the only thing worth watching from this SNME. It was so entertaining IMO that it overshadowed all the little and basic things they did. It was some pretty wholesome fan service, and I liked how John Cena handled his heel role at the end rather than keep teasing his possible face turn again, which wouldn't make any sense. And R-Truth was a gem as always with his performances."
[2.0] "I love Truth and Cena is one of the GOATs, but those things alone don't make matches great by themselves. This would have been perfectly fine if it wasn't just a four minutes match. I truely believe WWE crowds deserve longer and better spectacles with how loyal they are, and it's kind of funny that they don't realize that and settle for so little."
[0.0] "It's disrespectful to the art form to even call this a pro wrestling match. Failed comedy, nothing was at all funny here. And of course, everything else sucked as well, all the way up to the finish. At least it didn't take up a ton of time like other Cena matches have this year. Still, it's the second worst match of 2025. This Cena run has been so bad. And once again, this being what the world champion is doing on big shows is why WWE sucks right now. They wasted the last Cena vs Orton match to set this one up, unbelievably bad."
[1.0] "Uh, okay? So, we get this awesome moment with R-Truth parodying his childhood hero, and then we're hit with a match that totally fails to build on that story instead, it strips it of any value because Cena just wins right at the start. I can't see any reason to rate this above a 1."
[5.0] "Fine for what it was. Good payoff for this long term story that's been going on in the background these last few years with Truth calling Cena his childhood hero. Truth dressing up as Cena was fun and the pair had a comfortable sprint which focused mainly on the classic moves of Cena. Nice way to end it with Cena using his cheap tactics to win. Having it at this type of event was the right call, though I do wonder why the title wasn't on the line here. Only negatives are Cena's heel turn being rather stale now and the set up for a pointless tag team match involving three people I do not care for in the slightest."
[7.0] "I thought this match was exactly what it needed to be. I can't believe some people were expecting a real match between Cena and Truth. Those people also seem to hate fun! It was a funny, entertaining little match that bought a smile to my face. Some people need to stop taking wrestling so seriously!"
[8.0] "II don't know why, but I had a great time during this. It wasn't even a 5 minute match, but the build-up to it, as well as R-Truth's entrance and the surroundings of the fight made a lot of sense. In this situation, this match simply had to be checked off and that's it. It's hard to judge the action in the ring because it was very short, but everything that happened during those less than 5 minutes made sense. Cena wins in the most painful way for R-Truth because let's face it, he'll easily beat him after a regular AA and without cheating, but that's exactly what his heel persona is about, he does everything to ruin wrestling, and here he also managed to win in the most painful way for R-Truth. I don't just mean the physical pain, but also the mental pain associated with his heel actions. Let's face it, this isn't a title match because the title has to have seriousness, prestige, and last more than 5 minutes. singles match makes a lot of sense here, especially listening to r-truth's explanation that he's not going for the title just to bring back the old John. Now his reign is gaining momentum and I'm really curious what awaits us in the summer with many weekly appearances from Cena."
[3.0] "Why are we allowed to vote on this match if it was under 5 minutes long? We should be able to vote on every match no matter the length. Doesn't make sense if we can't."
[7.0] "I don't care what anyone says, this was excellent. It was exactly what I wanted it to be, I was thoroughly thoroughly entertained. Its comedy wrestling perfectly done, as silly as it is, there is a genuine story behind it all, and r-truth is just so funny that it made it such a fun time"
[2.0] "Brief and pointless and boring. At least Truth got some offence in which is something to take away at least. Never been a Cena fan and I look forward to the end of the year so we don't have to see any more of this, I hope there is some kind of pay off."
[1.0] "1 point for the Truth entrance and gear, the match was a waste of potential and a waste of time. Even at 4 minutes this match is more infuriating than the Cody or Orton matches cos Truth has an awesome angle for Cena to really get nasty and he gives us nothing. I rewatched his match with JBL at Judgement Day in 2005 recently and that's one of my favourite matches of all time, that's the Cena we need for this heel run but it's already clear we're not getting anything even close. Please Cena, lose yourself in the moment a bit bro"
[1.0] "I'm really worried about John Cena Farewell year of WWE and wrestling to be honest, if he had 36 dates and you waste them to do a match against R-TRUTH, it speaks louder that how much John Cena means right now to the company right now, and it's cruel to say that he was just give the 17 world tittle just for the viral clip of his heel turn, he delievered one of the worst Wrestlemania Main Events i could remember against Cody and NOW this shit against R-Truth, i'm very disappointed of the way Triple H is booking Cena, he's the goat of WWE 21st century. It's just sad"
[0.0] "This was a disaster. This could have worked as a way to further establish Cena as a heel to actually boo, and not this weird parody thing that he's been doing. R Truth is beloved and has the established comedy gimmick, so if Cena had brutalised him, made him bleed, not taken any of the comedy because he's against the concept of that now, and just left him in total shambles, it would have been an excellent use of TV time. Instead it was a joke which Cena played along with, and it undid the slight progress that the good Orton match made. Now he's going to be teaming with Logan Paul. This rubbish depresses me."
[5.0] "A match for a joke. Cena does the hits, Truth does Cena's hits, heel move by Cena. It did what it needed to for Truth vs Cena but had more potential. 5/10."
[4.0] "This was basically a comedy match with R-Truth mimicking Cena. Yeah, it was fun to watch but the match itself didn't amount to much. Cena does his five moves of doom, then Truth does them. Cena teases he's going to hit Truth with the belt but changes his mind, only for it to be a ruse and kicks him in the nuts followed by an AA for the win. Not bad or anything, just pointless. 4/10"
[5.0] "I don't think this could ever be described as good wrestling but this is WWE, no one watches it for good wrestling matches so in that context I enjoyed it. It was just inherently silly. I am not sure John Cena is very good at his job as a heel if he is just doing all the spots the crowd like to cheer and chant along too but the crowd is loud so what the fuck do I know?"
[3.0] "Not really a match, most like a long segment. I think they wasted a good chance, but it most a mirror match with dirty finish. Sadly they dotn give the possiblity for show the abilities and it was a lack of respect for fans, a 4 minutes match can't be in a major event, less if someone is the world champion."
[2.0] "Yeah man. Not a wrestling match. A mediocre uncompelling story beat with absolute minimal effort from both guys. Sure it was short but they did absolutely nothing interesting with the time they were given. It's a waste of a spot for John Cena's fucking retirement year. Also hilarious people thought Ron was gonna work a real match. *"
[1.0] "God damn, it's like they wanted to prove those who chanted You can't wrestle to Cena years ago were right. What a lazy useless match. «You don't understand, that's the point! Cena wants to ruin wrestling, he's a heel! » Well I'm sorry but it's still trash. The only reason it's not a 0 out of 10 is because my expectaions were already so low, yet they still manage to disapoint me. Appart from the heel turn itselft, nothing works with this cena heel run. Lazy Cena + lazy booking + «We only make 5 matches PLE, so when we put a cena shitty match on it, 20% of the show is ruined» = that kind of crap. They managed a decent match with Orton, but this was disrespectfull."
[1.0] "this is shameful and disrespectful to the Pro Wrestling industry! alright some might say : "oh you know, it was supposed to be a funny match! " well, it wasn't funny either! it's not bad to make a funny and comedy match, but it's totally different from making pro wrestling look like shit, with some very basic and fake ass moves! considering how Cena's last run has been till now, I think we're not gonna see anything special but seeing them shit on pro wrestling with overreacting, very old and repetitive scenarios. this match should've happened at a live event not a TV show! I can't believe that some people still find R-Truth funny! yes, he used to be, but let's not repeat the same thing for 100th time! furthermore, did you guys see that stupid Five Knuckle Shuffle from R-Truth? holy fucking shit man! Cena's heel run is has started to feel like a waste of his final dates! I respect both of these guys, and of course seeing them in the ring together is a childhood nostalgia, but I just wanna know who exactly comes up with these kinda ideas? (1/2*)"
[3.0] "I have no clue what Triple H is doing. I understand he's gotten comfortable with his booking and feels he doesn't need to put as much logic or effort in, but this is egregious. You ruined the last Orton/Cena by having R-Truth, comedy character, run-in and cost Orton the match. Okay, terrible idea, but surely you really want to do this match and have ideas for it if you're basically using Orton/Cena as an advertisement for this match. No, literally nothing happened. They simply went through the bare minimum motions, gave R-Truth a false finish that wasn't relatively convincing and Cena resorts to a low blow to beat comedy character 53 year old R-Truth. There is so much you can do with this, so many guys that can step up to try to pry this championship away from a heel overlord John Cena, and Triple H is just squandering it. His first four matches as a heel ever (besides like 2002) was one of the worst Mania main events ever, another mediocre at best Orton match, a fucking R-Truth comedy(If you can call it that), and TEAMING WITH LOGAN MOTHERFUCKING PAUL. I had always heard about the Invasion as one of the biggest missed booking opportunities in wrestling history, and I constantly thought to myself "Man, how did they mess it up that bad? " We're currently living through another one of those. This run is going to be talked about decades from now about how massive of a fumble this was and how huge it could've been. You could defend this and say it was 'inoffensive' or a 'house show match', but you're simply misguided. This is the record breaking 17th championship final run of heel John Cena. Every match should be a dream match. Every match should have meaning. If it's inoffensive or meaningless, that's actually worse than it being just bad because at least you tried something if it was just a bad McIntyre match for instance. Just going through the motions with 53 year old R-Truth in a comedy match while generational talent just rots away in the back is a fucking joke."
[7.0] "Look was it a great match in terms of the in ring action, probably not. Did I enjoy watching it 100% yes I did. Fun quick matchup. Biggest issue was I thought something would happen at the end to build to the next match but they saved that for the main event."
[5.0] "That was fun, the action was definitely much better than what the whole thing meant, I believe that this entire John Cena heel run so far is utterly ridiculous, but bell-to-bell it was fun, a very simple match, short, it went exactly how it should've, and the crowd completely loved. The match started with Cena demolishing R-Truth, who entered the ring cosplaying John, and it seemed like the match would be a lesson, but Truth eventually came back, hit Cena's five moves of doom, and had a nice nearfall. After that, Cena had a moment where he hesitated to hit Truth with the title, and everyone thought he was having second doubts about being a bad guy, but when the referee turned his back, he gave Truth a low blow and won the match. I had a good time watching this, even though it's a program that I really don't care about watching - {**1/2}"
[5.0] "Not sure why we can rate this with it being under 5 minutes? The way we got here was underwhelming but I am glad we got this match. It was fine."
[6.0] "This is unironically the best match Cena has had during this laborious heel run. The match served its purpose, being a comedic relief feud for the two men engage in, before Cena eventually turns face again. R-Truth coming out in Cena's gear and basically LARPing as Cena was actually funny. He is a national treasure, and we should protect him at all costs. Glad that he got a match worth being invested for. I don't think I'm going to give this a rating, but I do think it warrants some praise."
