His booking this year has been so disappointing, as Bron Breakker, Lyra Valkyria & Tiffany Stratton have been established. But there were certain spots in this match that were well put. And the ending of the match was wonky but expected, as Aleister Black got the win. Carmelo Hayes needs better booking. It's insane how they've been mishandling his booking since his debut on the main roster.

Ref didn't check on Melo so I assume it just looked great He mixes the strikes with agility, a moonsault to the outside before the break, and one off the middle rope to a standing Melo in the ring when they were back. He's fun to watch and Melo can hang with most anyone. Roll up achieves a few things, gets Black the win, leaves us with scope for a rematch, protects Carmelo somewhat, and potentially gets us nearer getting him away from Miz. I enjoyed this, but expect better from a rematch.

It's a decent match, but nothing was truly gained from this in terms of having either competitor produce a noteworthy performance that'll propel them in any certain way. They should be allowed to tear it up to build anticipation and excitement for a potential rematch instead of having a short 50/50 match that would be a better fit for a house show. Mechanically, it's solid, but it doesn't offer anything else. Aleister did some of his 'psychological mind games' with the sitting criss-crossed spot, and what followed where he took some of Melo's offense in the corner and sold it like he quickly recovered. Melo did an abbreviated version of what he does. **1/2
