101.07.2025GameBoyAbyss2.0One of the biggest disappointments I've had in my few years of watching wrestling. The match started slow - which was fine, as it felt Cena was slowly building, and things began to kick off with the flurry of AAs and the STF, and I was getting excited seeing Cody getting pushed against Cena's offense. But once the ref goes down - an element that very rarely makes a match better - things began to unravel. Cody can't get his win, Cena retaliates and stuns Cody. But then we're 'treated' to an awful multi-minute entrance of Travis f'n Scott, who does pretty much nothing whilst Cody lays around stunned, before Cena gets Cody to look like a loser for not hitting him with the belt. Cena wins, which is cool, but that he won 17 in such a poor, unsatisfying, and stupid way - to say nothing of the fact the Rock no-showed - makes this the opposite of the incredible climax of last year's Wrestlemania. Have I seen worse matches? Oh yeah, but something like this shouldn't be the main event.
230.06.2025ajschlos1.0This gets one point solely based on John Cena's entrance. The match itself was very very boring Travis Scott interfered and I do not like his music let alone him being involved in the WWE. In my opinion this is probably the worst world title match at wrestlemania since wrestlemania nine.
330.06.2025N2A1C1.0It's the match of the year, the most important, the best story, and it was horrible, Cody's entrance was very good, but the match was very slow, and nothing worked out for them, Cena wasn't up for so many minutes, and something historic, something that had to be remembered like Cena surpassing Flair was pretty bad. Unacceptable for a WrestleMania Main Event.

522.06.2025TPG4.0For all of you telling me that Cena was technically keeping his promise to ruin wrestling with Travis Scott coming out, just because someone says they're going to have a shit on your pillow doesn't mean you'll get a good night's sleep. It's a real shame too, because up until that ending with the horrible overacting and the bullshit, this match was actually really good with both men working a very good showing. I liked how they were replicating an 80s sort of match too, though that all went downhill when Travis Scott took a birthday to show up and screw Cody over. I think WWE really dropped the ball with not having the Final Boss show up. **
622.06.2025BasuraNocturna1.0Man, this match was terrible. Maybe the biggest sin on it is Rhodes' lack of fire. He shows no urgency for most of the match. I get Cena is working at a slow pace, but have Cody try to regain control at every moment. Cena's going to cut you off. Don't just stand there and do nothing while being worked over. Rhodes just seemed like a real bum out there. Then there's the shenanigans. They just take too much time. Cody's extremely long hesitation to use the belt also builds up on his case for one of the worst babyface performances in ages. In Rhodes' case, this refusal to bend the rules in the name of retribution is particularly outrageous given how the angle with Cena was set up (the bet down after John's heel turn) and the lengths Cody went to in his feud with Kevin Owens at the Rumble. Mind-boggling to say the least.
722.06.2025cioran8.0Pretty good match, with a big match feel, marred only by the skinny rapper IDK showing up instead of the Rock (who should have been there) and an overbooked finish with ref bumps etc. Match itself was better than most recent main events until the finish and I enjoyed the more relaxed pace. Played out more like a mania main event from the 80s. Psychology heavy match that depends on following the feud and the cena heel turn. I have no idea where these 0's and 2's and 3's are coming from. I could understand getting a 5 or 6 because we all expected the Rock and got some rapper that looks like he weighs 150lbs soaking wet but the rest was fine.
819.06.2025DeadPinky2.0Inadequate feels perfect as a rating for this match. I loved watching it live, heel cena wowed me (and I was pretty intoxicated). I can't even get halfway through rewatching it knowing that Travis is going to take longer than New Day v Viking Raiders to get to the ring. This is a bomb without the fuse. The first time you watch it, will be the most you enjoy it; so tread lightly and intoxicate adequately to make up for what's ultimately a snoozefest. Rewrite everything with Travis, make the final ten minutes the cena we've been seeing throughout the rest of his run, and then introduce his new super finisher dick kick belt shot combo.
918.06.2025angelavivi5.0Although I understand people's disappointment towards this match, I can't help but applaud Cena for his heel performance during this match. Even though I still believe it makes no sense that he turned when he did and that his reasoning doesn't explain shit about aligning with the Rock, I kind of like the meta heel characteristics such as not changing attire, coming out with no graphics, the complete lack of emotion in his face, the slow paced wrestling (yes, one can argue that he just can't go anymore and I don't doubt that if he came to the match as a face, it still wouldn't be exceptional but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now), hell even Travis Scott showing up might be part of it given the reaction it got. I honestly would rather them do a retcon down the line and ditch the Rock involvement (who should stay OUT if he can't commit to the story) and just keep going with this character, even if it would be quite incoherent. As for the match itself, as mentioned the early parts were slow and quite dull but it picked up after some 10ish minutes. For a WM main event it's below average but it was inoffensive overall, there wasn't anything outright terrible in it.
1015.06.2025crfdevitt3.0I'm really torn on how to rate this match. There were a lot of moving parts: some worked, others clearly didn't. In terms of the in-ring action, Cena wrestled at a deliberately slow pace. It wasn't exactly thrilling, but I was still entertained. He made it clear that he only cared about one thing: winning, no matter how. When he said he was going to "ruin wrestling, " it genuinely felt like he meant it: his performance came across as intentionally uninspired, which suited his current character. But everything shifted the moment Travis Scott got involved. Let's be honest, The Rock should have been there. This was WrestleMania, the biggest event of the year. A historic moment, with Cena breaking the all-time World Title record. And instead of The Rock, we had Travis Scott (completely unrelated to WWE) taking part in the finish of a historic main event. I mean, if Travis had some in-ring history or any real storyline involvement, maybe it would've made sense. But that simply wasn't the case. His appearance felt random, forced, and completely out of place. After Travis took the Cross Rhodes, I actually started enjoying the ending. The moment where Cena tried to hit Cody with the belt, only for Cody to counter, was a great sequence. I get why Cody didn't hit Cena with the title (and why it ended up costing him the match). He's the top babyface in WWE right now, and he clearly can't act the same way Cena has been acting lately. But if you look back at some recent events, Cody destroyed Kevin without any remorse, threw steel steps at AJ Styles at Backlash 2024, and even hit a Cross Rhodes onto a chair to beat Owens at SNME (without the ref seeing). So why now can't he attack Cena with the title? It definitely didn't make any sense. John Cena having one last (and most important) run with the title as a heel is going to be really interesting to watch. I'm genuinely curious to see what comes next. In the end, I'm not even sure how I feel about this match. Part of me enjoyed it (it had moments that really worked, especially the closing stretch) but there's also this lingering sense that it could've been so much more. It was historic, yes, but not in the way I hoped. There's something bittersweet about it. I'll definitely remember it... I'm just not sure if that's for the right reasons.

1215.06.2025Goatbomb6.0It wasn't an all timer of a match, but I don't think you can expect that with Cena at his age. Cody did a great job as usual playing the white meat babyface in peril, for what it's worth. We did get a ref bump, a "run" in by Travis Scott, low blow and a title belt being used as a weapon, which is pretty standard affair for WWE nowadays. It was not as atrocious as some people make it seem and the crowd was very much into the match throughout. It was cool to see John win his 17th and it'll be interesting to see where this heel run goes. One last gripe for me was not having the Final Boss show up was a bit of a head-scratcher to me, I really think WWE dropped the ball here.

1613.06.2025HV851068.0I am aware this is an extremely controversial reception right now especially with the way it finished, but I absolutely loved this. The storytelling of Cena not being as agile as he used to be, so he works a match that suits his strengths. He's clearly getting in his bully bag, wrestling like a heel feels like something he has wanted to do for a long time. Cody was on his A-Game, everything prior to the overbooked finish worked for me. Then the ref bump, I normally will dock points for this, and I did last night against the Punk/Rollins/Reigns match, but I'm starting to feel like if there is ever a time TO go all out and overbook your finish, to me it IS the main event of WrestleMania. Travis Scott is not someone I like either, but have you considered that that choice might have just been what they wanted to maximize heel heat for Cena? People will still cheer The Final Boss. EDIT: I overrated this a fair bit on the benefit of the doubt regarding the story. I was hoping for it to be more. Still, I thought it was a legitimately strong match. 4 Stars. ****

2309.06.2025mitaalex0.0An absolute trainwreck of a match. Not even Travis Scott's cameo could distract from how lifeless and uninspired this entire thing was. The pacing was sluggish, the energy was nonexistent, and the crowd seemed more invested in their phones than what was happening in the ring. Whatever story they tried to tell fell flat, and the execution was just as forgettable. If this was supposed to be a WrestleMania moment, it failed on every level. Travis ended up being the only spark in an otherwise dead segment.

3007.06.2025Tribaldog2.0Really disappointed in the way how Cena's last WM match was handled. Him and Cody didn't seem to have good chemistry and the Rock's missing just completely ruined people's expectations...
3105.06.2025papamama An absolute disaster. Cena vs. Cody felt like a lazy, uninspired attempt to cash in on nostalgia and hype. The pacing was painfully slow, the offense looked soft, and there was zero chemistry between them. Cena looked checked out, and Cody couldn't carry the dead weight. The Travis Scott interference? Completely pointless and borderline laughable. The finish a low blow followed by a belt shot was insultingly lazy. This wasn't a WrestleMania moment; it was a parody of one. If this is how WWE treats its icons and top stars, the future looks bleak.

3404.06.2025SapBR015.0Disgusting finish with Travis Scott coming out, feels like such a crime to even write that morons name in such a historic main event. The match itself being so disappointing was certainly surprising. Both the guys are legends and long term workers and for some reason the worst produced match that they could have had , they did.
3504.06.2025RealGrapsThomsen4.0A match I was looking forward too that unfortunately ended up disappointing. I get what they were going for, trying to replicate an old school wrestling match, but it just ended up being boring and Travis Scott's interference at the end was so unnecessary, also Cody refusing to hit Cena with the belt made no sense.
3604.06.2025knightofenigma1.0You have John Cena on a retirement tour doing his supposedly final WrestleMania and it's against a big opponent like Cody Rhodes who became the face of WWE with the big Finish The Story tagline match last year and this is what you get? Travis Scott? A big and long Travis Scott entrance to pause the match and interfere in the worst way possible. Where was The Rock? This is trash
3703.06.2025LasVegasPlayah5.0Cena vs Rhodes! Vom Namen her ein legendäres Main Event.

4330.05.2025Dannyboy4.0The match before that ending to me wasn't too bad, The atmosphere was very interesting with a Pro Cena and Anti Cody crowd but I thought it was pretty cool. I also liked Cena's heel work, very much like an 80s heel, and Cody once again looked great as the babyface. However the ending ruins it all. Travis Scott being the only run in is a joke, also it wasn't really a run in since he literally WALKED TO THE RING. Also I didn't like the ending with Cody hesitating and the match ending with a belt shot really puts a damper on this. Long story short, I thought it wasn't bad, nothing special but they worked around Cena's limitations pretty well, but screw that ending. Would be 6-7 for me but it's a 4
4429.05.2025MeloDontMiss5.0
4529.05.2025RyanFitzmagic5.0The match itself was fine. Pretty slow-paced but that was to be expected. Travis Scott's presence was weird and felt out of place, but him taking a Cross-Rhodes was funny. Ending felt a bit anti-climatic but fitting to Cena's new heel character. Overall, the legendary implications of the match make it main event worthy, not the match itself.
4629.05.2025Sansbear273.0The fucking audacity to have this be your main event. John can't go anymore. Cody's iconic title reign ends in a whimper. His character is completely assassinated. He lost like 5 months of character development in 10 mins. I love travis but that was unnecessary. And cena's heel turn now makes no sense. Fuck off rock
4727.05.2025KingSlender0.0I've been a fan of wrestling for nearly two years now and I can say this was the only match I've seen thus far that actually made me angry. Cody spent so much time working his ass off to get to where he is now and for what? Everyone fuckin booing him just cos they felt like it. I don't like to use the word "mark" cos it doesn't mean anything anymore but I saw it first hand. A stadium full of marks. This should've been an easy layup for the fed, finally a passing of the torch from Cena to Cody to be the company's ultra-face but it came across as a burial attempt. I like Cody well enough, probably not enough to consider myself a fan but it really made me want to go to bat for him. An even bigger crime is the match was so boring! John Cena is one of the best big time match wrestlers ever, Cody's no slouch in that regard either, yet nothing happened. Maybe Cena's age is showing but it really seemed like he made Cody wrestle to his pace rather than try to keep up with Cody. Travis Scott coming out was so pointless. Finish was lame as balls. Hate it hate it HATE IT.
4826.05.2025Nohamolait0.0I hated this match unfortunately, really really hated it. I never was the biggest John Cena fan but I admit he managed, with the right opponent, to put some all-timer. But that time is well past now. That sequence with Punk in the Chamber fooled me. You could see Cody slowing down so that John could keep up. Obviously the Travis Scott stuff sucked but what really pissed me off was the finish. It made Cody look like a dork, I get what they were trying to do but cmon Cody cheated in WWE before when the stakes were way lower. Also winning with a belt shot after Cody kicked out of 4 AA is very anti-climatic, Cena winning with the Bionic Elbow or the Figure Four would have been pretty cool. Once again it's probably what they looked for because of John's meta "I hate wrestling fans and will ruin this sport", which imo is an awful pretext because knows is washed and can't go anymore... I don't think this match as any redeemable quality [-*]
4926.05.2025Captainoats22 Saw this in the building. Finally got round to rewatching it at home. Completely understand the Travis Scott negativity, and was expecting it to come across poorly televised. Honestly, it wasn't bad as a lot of people are making it out to be. Cena is blatantly limited in-ring, he already was, but now with his career, you can tell he's protected. This was completely decent for this era of WWE. I'd sit through this a million times over a Jey/Roman SSlam style main event. All it needed was Scott to jump the barrier or be ringside at the start, and I feel people would be fairer to it. Crowd were into it in the building anyway and that was fun to be apart of. Should be happy it wasn't a HHH/Orton or Cena/Miz end to a decent day 2.

5225.05.2025combatpulsemma3.0I'll start off by saying: they tried. I know Cena/Cody is not finished, with a rematch likely at Wrestlemania next year. I'm sure it'll be better than this. This match was MEANT to piss us off. Just like the Wrestlemania 39 ending, they are building an even bigger moment for Cody Rhodes. What failed is, the match did not even come close to Cody vs Roman 1. Slow, boring, forgettable; and this is coming from someone who is STILL on board with the Heel Cena run. I get what they are attempting to do. Piss us off, make everyone hate Travis Scott / John Cena / The Rock even more. It worked but not entirely. The Rock was too heavily involved in the heel turn for him to skip out on Wrestlemania. They should have saved The Rock being involved for next year instead, should have just let Travis Scott help Cena turn at the Elimination Chamber initially. I know this story is nowhere near finished, and I am willing to bet we are getting worked right now and that The Rock will be involved heavily in the conclusion of it next year. The match itself, bombed hard. I love Travis Scott being involved, he is a huge wrestling fan and is actively training for a match or two. He brings TONS of eyes to the company, it's just that this match needed The Rock somehow involved considering he convinced Cena to turn after 20+ years. Love Cody, love Cena too; just wish this match delivered more for the fans in attendance THAT NIGHT. I know the payoff will be worth it in the long run but comparing it to the Wrestlemania 41 Saturday main event makes it look worse. Congratulations to John Cena on his record breaking seventeenth World Championship.

5822.05.2025AlexClark3141.0The absolute drizzling shits of the new era of WWE. Stupid levels of finisher spam that did not matter in the end. A dull combination of basic rest holds and fundamentals which lead to the WWE special a ref bump which you think would lead to an run in by the Rock but not we get Travis Scott who has zero to do with the business and its then lead to some amateur theatre acting and a flat finish with a belt shot, What a waste of Cena breaking Flair's record and his final Mania main event. {1/4*}

6619.05.2025underlinepunk1.0It was going so well. Cena was fighting like a heel Hollywood Hogan, and even though it wasn't the best match possible, it was enough. But they literally fucked everything by stopping the match for Travis Scott. This was the most garbage way to ruin Cena's 17th. The only feeling this match had was that something was missing, because the moment which was supposed to be one of the biggest and most important of the company was wasted to a run-in from a rapper.
6718.05.2025Rassle Fan2.0The match suffered greatly from having to wait for Travis Scott to saunter ALLLLL the way down to the ring. It killed the flow of the match and also Travis Scott is pretty terrible. His presence wasn't needed and if the match had ended the same way but without him, I would've enjoyed it more. It also had the ongoing problem of WWE matches having several finishers and signatures trades and kicked out of for up 15 minutes. In between they have to lay there or sit up in "disbelief". Cena's heel turn isn't working as well because he's exactly the same in presentation except he's sad now.
6818.05.2025Bushi597.0I don't understand why this match is rated so low. Johnny Boy told us he was going to ruin wrestling, and he did. The storyline makes sense, and for once, we should thank WWE for that. I sincerely hope that Johnny Boy will keep the title for a long time with the same intention of ruining wrestling.

7018.05.2025hassan014.0First of all the finisher spamming was annoying as f. What was it like 5 or 6 AA's for f**ks sake. That is mad and really takes any interest I had, out of the match. Not completely scant in terms of substance but it lacked sufficiently. And if that wasn't enough we got Mr. Fein in the place where he doesnt belong. At least he got hit with a cross-rhodes, so thats some salvation. **1/4

7217.05.2025yaboifuzion3.0Oh, what this could have been. With a better build, and a better executed inclusion of the Rock into this storyline, this could have yet again been another massive storyline for WWE. Instead, Rocky doesn't even bother to show up for the main event, and instead, we are left with a poorly done celebrity inclusion, that made WWE look cheesy and phony. Dead ending also didn't at all feel like the way to bookend a quite historic reign under Rhodes. This match just oozes "what could have been". In another world, this was yet again another "cinematic" WrestleMania main event. Instead, TKO looks for, and will end up finding posts from SportsCenter and other massive social media pages that will post about "Travis Scott showing up at WrestleMania and gifting John Cena his historic 17th Championship".

9011.05.2025KingofKings56322.0So like.......I say this with all due respect......Cena's washed, right? Lets forget the god awful finish for a moment, and just look at the action. Cena was never an excellent worker, but this was painfully slow and plodding. Some sequences legit felt like it was slow-mo. You would think Cody would try to add to the pace, and kind of work around him, but he really never. He just had Cena's match, at half speed, and it stunk. Then the finish was an all-timer for bad finishes. Not only does it make little story cohesion sense, the masterplan was to.....get DQ'ed right in front of the ref? What? I legitimately think they succeeded in the story they were trying to tell. Or at the very least, there was no attempt to adjust and right the ship. I'm just sitting here like, well, what the hell story is that? 2/10 because story was told, moves were performed fine, and at least it had some aura before they crapped the bed. I'm being generous though, cause it's probably the worst main event ever.

9311.05.2025Notorious273.0One of the worst Weestlemania main events I've ever seen. Nothing about this was good. Cena genuinely looked awful in this match. The match had no rhythm, it never picked up, it never peaked, never went anywhere. Just god awful offense from Cena and loud spot calling. After all that we get to the finish... I honestly didn't mind Travis Scott getting involved as much as much most people did, BUT the way he got involved was god awful like everything else with this match! Show up out of nowhere and do a quick interference, in and out. Try to make it at least somewhat shocking. The guy got a FULL entrance mid match and then got face to face with Cody milking the moment acting like this is some sort of a generation face off. Awful match, awful ending, everything about this was awful. 1.5*

9510.05.2025piotrusjasigma5.0
9610.05.2025sirvalkyerie0.0This is just abysmal. For starters the match itself was awful. Very slow, very plodding, very boring. No urgency. No hatred, no aggression. A more limited than ever Cena laboring through a match against the King of 3* Matches, Cody Rhodes. This is the sorta thing that needs a red hot crowd, lots of overbooking and a great storyline. But unfortunately for everyone, we had none of that. A very poor, malingering build-up to a Mania main event that inexplicably didn't feature The Rock and had a terrible laugh out loud interference from Travis Scott. It seemed bizarre. This was 2001 WCW bad. Just a goofy, poorly booked, uninteresting and badly wrestled match with a celebrity run-in that makes no sense and excited no one. Bad bad bad
9710.05.2025JRMac5.0What a shame. Idk what the Rock was thinking not showing up for this one. It was actually starting to pick up steam near the end, then Travis Scott takes 5 mins to walk down the ramp and kills the pacing completely. Sad way to break the record.
9810.05.2025ThanosWasRight5.0This match was actually going well up until the 2nd half of the match, I wasn't a fan of the of the layout of this match because it just hurt the flow of things in my opinion. Right person won in this & crowd rightfully cheered but it felt like it could've been so much better if they tweaked things.

10008.05.2025SeniorPickle566.0I liked the match tbh. I was a fan of Cena's slow, calculated style and I think for a guy whos in the last 12 months of his wrestling career he looked good. Cody looked good too and I liked the versatility of offense and the storytelling throughout the match. The ending was stupid tho. If there's no Rock, Travis should've not been there. Or he should've been under the ring, or said "with orders of the final boss, I'm the referee now and screwed Cody". Any morsel of creativity would've been good. Also Cody refusing to hit Cena would've made sense if, in the build to the match, Cody talked about not believing that this is really John and that the real John Cena is still in there and that by sparing him John comes to his senses. The Heel run could've been done much better from Cena but alas I'm still excited for what's in store. 6/10
