9 | 15.03.2025 | ReiEscobar | 10.0 | Probably the best match between Ibushi and Ospreay is the lightest one lol. The wrestling is something really simple, you don't need to do crazy spots and unique skills even if you really can do it. It's Ospreay and Ibushi! They're fucking good, everybody know there, I even have a huge theory that sadly lacks of strong and concrete proofs that Ibushi Prime during 2014-2021 is actually a ET coming from a far far place, cause everything he shows in the ring don't see like a normal thing to do. Will Ospreay is also a fucking beast like everyone know, this match is fucking gorgeous and everyone knows it, but right here they really did only things that made sense into the match. Kota Ibushi was build in this match to win it and surprise! He actually wins this. Will Ospreay was building himself at this time to became a monster and the fucking wrestler we current know right now. It's a shame that a match between those guys will probably never happen again due of the recent issues of Kota Ibushi involving his own healthy, I doubt that he can comeback and show something, it's better for me and my mind accept that it's over for him and it was good while happenned. So good, that I'm gonna come here and say that this is a five stars match...at least for me. |

27 | 20.03.2024 | Bren0 | 9.0 | [4.75*] Ospreay and Ibushi have some really fun matches together, here they do a great job. Young Will Ospreay starts the match intensely and does limb work on Ibushi's leg, despite a more rhythmic start, the rest of the match had an accelerated pace with many spots and incredible moves from both wrestlers, Ospreay and Ibushi physically. they were in incredible form here and the match was incredible and exciting. The end of the match features a stellar performance from Ospreay who does everything he can to win the match and almost succeeds several times, the nearfalls were extremely dramatic, yet with an incredible sequence of knees, Ibushi wins the match. |

39 | 05.08.2023 | KuczyPL | 8.0 | Very good match, however some of the stuff was just too much for me and I'm not even talking about selling issues (which was done only partially good). I absolutely adored some spots, especially the transition from Ibushi's lariat attempt to Ospreay's twisting Powerbomb. On the other side, however, I have to mention a couple of needless kick-outs towards the end of this match. I'm not saying it ruined the flow, but at the same time didn't make much sense. With that being said, both guys are incredibly gifted athletes and I'm sure as hell they can do much more than "big spot -> kick-out" loop. 8/10 for this one and I hope their next matches between each other will only get better once I'll have a chance to watch 'em. |

43 | 18.07.2023 | Oswuold | 10.0 | 4, 75* really close to 4, 5*, not 5* for me. The action should have been faster and most important Ibushi didn't sell Ospreay's legwork. In general there are lots of better matches outhere that haven't reached the five stars level that are better then this fight in every aspect. If you wanna see and Ospreay/Ibushi match, watch theyr Sakura Genesis match. It's longer than this one but has a much better rhythm that gave it a fantastic epopea sensation; the full score classic this match wanted to be. ****3/4 |

61 | 07.11.2022 | LariatNation | 9.0 | You know you're in for a good one when the lockup tells a story. And man, this was about as close to being the epitome of storytelling as it gets. Six months prior, Will Ospreay concussed Kota Ibushi with the Hidden Blade in a display that had even the fiercest members of CHAOS questioning his morality given the levels of violence he was willing to distribute. Six months later, Ibushi was now nursing a different injury, one to his ankle, that had resulted in his starting G1 Climax 29 at 0-2. Unfortunately for Ospreay, a neck injury of his own had already caused him to miss the most recent match that he was scheduled for. And thus, the perfect foundation for a match that was anything but what most expected it to be was provided. Ospreay mercilessly attacked the leg of Ibushi, using a near perfect blend of technical wrestling and sheer brutality to hobble his opponent even further. It made for a fantastic early story. It also led to a perfectly placed kick to the neck that resulted in one of the best selling performances that I have ever seen. A turning point in the career of Ospreay. The physicality and offensive innovation was impressive here, as all expected it to be. That includes the insane counter to Stormbreaker that had me wondering if Ospreay would be able to exit the ring under his own power. But it was the story, the selling, and the character work that made this one of the best matches of G1 Climax 29. Ospreay attacking the leg, but ultimately falling victim to his hubris as Ibushi saved himself from disaster by baiting the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion into proving he could punch above his weight class. Ibushi trapping Ospreay in the Tree of Woe and returning the favor from their nigh iconic Wrestle Kingdom sequence. Both men making it a point to escape disaster by targeting the injured body part. Throw in the all-time sequence involving the Hanging German Suplex and Hidden Blade, and you have yourself an otherworldly experience. And that is what this match was, at its core. A special experience. I think the wrestling itself may have been at the level of 4.25, but the story made this something even greater. As such, I land at 4.5 stars, 9 out of 10. Essential viewing for every type of wrestling fan. |

70 | 07.07.2022 | Okaro143 | 9.0 | It was an excellent match which was even better than their WK 13 match. Going into this both men were injured and they did a great job of using the injuries when needed but never actually focused too much on it. Ospreay's striking has really become a thing of beauty and it was really fun to watch. One of the best aspects of this match was the great pacing; they never went fast and maintained a slow and methodical pacing. But it never drag and both men enjoyed control at different points. A lot of tremendous nearfalls, beautiful counters and great in ring character work (especially Ospreay). ****3/4 |

86 | 10.11.2021 | TheLegitBoss | 8.0 | Very good match between Ospreay and Ibushi here as it could hardly not have been the case considering the two elite performers that were facing each other here in this long twenty-seven minute main event, there was no reason for this match not to deliver and although for me it wasn't the classic that's being sold to us with all these ratings as well as Meltzer's appreciation it was still tremendous to watch. Maybe a little too long because at times it felt like it was really dragged out for not much except to add an epic feel not necessarily needed when you have two great wrestlers like them, but it was never bad and I found it really cool to watch. These two guys are absolute genius as I said before and considering all the feedbacks I had read I still expected better than this, but it was still some genuine stuff all around. |

**** 1/2 (11) |
