Drew Gulak vs. Matt Riddle

[8.0] "This was a very good match between Riddle and Gulak here, it could hardly not have been the case considering the immense talent of these two wrestlers and their rather similar styles. This match was presented as the reunion of Catch Point after years, and I thought it was a nice touch to give us this match-up in this anniversary show. They haven't forgotten where they came from and the great things they were able to accomplish in this company in the past, and they paid tribute to them well by delivering an absolutely fantastic match. It was interesting from the beginning to the end, I never got bored because there was always something qualitative, everything was done with a remarkable intensity and everything was so smooth. When you go to watch a match between these two great talents, you expect to see a lot of submissions, strikes and counters, and that's exactly what happened here with a top notch execution. For an exhibition match like this it was great, and the finishing stretch was awesome. Great match."

[6.0] "A fine intense match with both men trading stiff strikes, aggressively applied holds, and impactful power moves. I wasn't a big fan of the few try-hard 'shoot' exchanges they went for, such as when they introduced clinches or tried using closed fists, since that just felt patronising, as if they thought I could only take their match seriously if they had me thinking: "wow I've seen this stuff in UFC before! And UFC is REAL so I should then treat this match more seriously! ". Apart from that -- which was honestly just a minor issue in the grand scheme -- the match was decent, though I definitely think the relatively short duration held it back significantly, since it felt like the pacing and exchanges only finally picked up at the very finish itself, since that was when both men suddenly went rampant with their variety of different attacks mixed together. That was when I was the most interested in the match, even if it felt like rather generic indy work, since it was at least more animated than their previous exchanges, but that was surprisingly where both men decided to end things. That honestly may have been for the best though, considering they probably would have just gone full indy spotfest if given an extra 5-10 minutes anyways, and I suspect I would have tuned out from that. ***"

[9.0] "A real throwback to the good ol' days when EVOLVE was the best damn pro-wrestling product on the planet. Somewhat depressing in that regard too, because nothing they've put out ever since guys like these two (& of course many others too) left has touched the magic they brought here. They just do what Riddle & Gulak do; greatly spirited, competitive, mat & strike heavy action with excellent urgency, progress & escalation. Exactly what that CATCH POINT name is all about."

[9.0] "Drew Gulak might be the best wrestler of 2019, as he seemingly can work miracles with any opponent, and on this night he carried a wrestler I despise in Matt Riddle and guided him into a deep, rich, crisp, exciting and intricate battle that dazzled the crowd and ravished their hearts. I very much disliked the casual reversal leading to the finish, but everything else was on point, honored the Catch Point philosophy and was flat out great wrestling."

[10.0] "Best match of the night by far. Both wrestlers were serious and it felt like a fight. The entire ending sequence is just about perfect, and the show of respect at the end was great. Catch Point was what got me interested in Evolve in the first place so seeing this tribute to the two members that exemplify its ideals the most was a treat."

[9.0] "An upgrade from their nxt tv match. We were in Philadelphia, Gulaks home town, so the crowd was pretty rowdy for both men (as they always are for Riddle). They started off with some crisp grappling and then we started getting some stiff looking strikes and blows. The match you would expect to get from these two, in the 1300 arena."
