Ivy Nile vs. Lyra Valkyria

[6.0] "Great showing from both, love a submission focused match wthat targets a limb. Really good work by both, Nile is capable of some really impressive strength and can lock in some great looking holds. Lyra is still fantastic."

[7.0] "One of the most underrated TV matches of the year, and probably the most underrated match in Lyra's entire title reign. I'm not a fan of Ivy but she can definitely go in the ring. This was fun hard hitting match."

[5.0] "This was a fine match, I hope they start to push Lyra because she's good enough to be close to the main event. (2.75*)"

[6.0] "A pretty solid title defense for Valkyria here that also made the challenger, Nile, look good. I'm glad that Valkyria's had two successful title defenses as her last two matches following her loss to Bayley in the lead-in to Elimination Chamber, as I mentioned that I thought that was a weird choice."

[5.0] "[2.5*] I like both of them but I remember this being very average, it didn't blow my mind and I didn't remember it fondly."

[6.0] "Probably the best Ivy Nile match in either NXT or the main roster. Match was average, but a couple moves before the end got me. When Ivy powerbombed Lyra and put her in an ankle lock, torquing the ankle up to Lyra's head, I was into it. You should be doing that the whole time. Lyra should not be fighting the bargain basement of WWE as champion, no matter how many reps they have together in NXT. It is easy to say, "Just put her against Rhea! " WWE has plenty to choose from. There are even people sitting on the bench like Kiana James that could reappear and make an impact that gets heat right away."

[6.0] "A pretty average match in my opinion and it seems like Lyra faces the same two wrestlers every week at this point. Valkyria sold her back well and Nile is getting better every time out. 3 stars."

[7.0] "Good wrestling match, Ivy Nile is really talented and should be used more, and Lyra has been impressive as always, the knee injury angle added to the match, if it was longer, it would have got a higher rating tho"

[7.0] "I loved the wrestling content presented here. It was great back-and-forth wrestling and technical in nature. The moves were executed beautifully and it was visually pleasing to witness. Lyra' back is the centre of attention but she is able to muster enough to put Ivy away after catching her off guard. ***1/2"

[7.0] "It was a valiant effort from Ivy Nile to wear down Lyra and try to pull off an upset, but the champ was equally competitive in not letting the title slip away. These women worked their way to a tightened battle on short notice, but I wish there was more window of room to induce more damage to each other that could've resulted in an underrated banger. Still, it was a well-structured match but seeing how hyped Ivy was built up as a stern combatant, I was expecting a bit more. 3.25 out of 5 stars!"

[6.0] "Fine. I expect better from Lyra, but I probably expect worse from Ivy, so no complaints really. Ivy has good intensity and a wicked German. Lyra winning undoubtedly the right decision and I look forward to her next defence being better than fine,"

[7.0] "Pretty good match but I think more can be done with these two. I know people say limbwork is boring but I think it works well if done correctly, which it was here. Wish I got a couple more crazy spots from Lyra like in the 1st Women's Intercontinental title match. I'd be interested in a triple threat with Dakota Kai and these two on a PPV."

[5.0] "I liked this match at times, but you can see the difference in quality between Nile and Lyra is vast right now. Zero doubt that that Ivy has and continues to improve and will be a good wrestler for years to come. Solid enough match, but a touch rough in other places."

[8.0] "Really enjoyed this one. Lyra's selling was on point and her offence is really cool and Ivy Nile looked like an absolute beast throughout. Thought the ending was a bit rushed which was a shame, would have been happy for this to go on a while longer and have a more fleshed out conclusion but I liked all of the rest of the match a lot."

[5.0] "The Women's IC title match was okay, but I felt that WWE relied too heavily on the injury angle. Lyra and Ivy are the two of the best female superstars on the midcard, but the match didn't meet the standard. So far, the Women's IC title doesn't get enough matches, especially quality matches. There is nothing too memorable about this match."

[6.0] "An easy starting defense for Lyra. I have to say I really like her, she can give us a good reign if they wanted, but putting her up against opponents like Ivy Lane I don't know, she's still a bit green. Mind you, with the American Made character she has that backup she needs, but I think she still has some room for improvement. But I liked the wrestling, I wouldn't have given her this rating."

[7.0] "I hope they continue to have Lyra Valkyria continue to defend this title weekly it's slowly becoming a workhorse title, which I love because the matches Lyra Valjkyria has had since winning the belt have been very fun. I think this match between Lyra Valkyria and Ivy Nile was hard-hitting, very much back-and-forth, but what I enjoyed was the time these women got to wrestle because they could showcase and make the crowd get out of their seats, and that was the case for both women's matches were on this RAW Card. Ivy Nile, in the future, I do see winning this title she's very underrated now I wonder who's next for Lyra Valkyria?"

[5.0] "I have a feeling I saw that match a hundred times in HHH's WWE. Babyface has an injury (it's a knee almost everytime) and he or she sells it thorught the whole match but manages to catch the opponent by mistake, has a counterattack and wins."

[6.0] "These two had good chemistry together so the match looked smooth with good pacing. Lyra sold her leg really well. Wish the crowd invested more into the matchup as that was its biggest flaw."

[7.0] "Solid work here, Lyra sold the hell out of her leg and Ivy did some good work. The crowd sucked here though, they Woo for Lyra's entrance then do nothing in the match. I hate when a crowd just don't react, but the in ring was good."

[5.0] "There are some good spots but--as someone who is new to her--I keep waiting for Valkyria to impress me and she keeps not really seeming to connect. She somehow comes across as extremely muted personality-wise, but not in a Strong and Silent Type way. She just doesn't seem to be displaying anything unique. I'm not saying she doesn't have anything to offer; I'm saying WWE hasn't shown me why she's a good choice for a champion yet."

[7.0] "This was a solid match, and if the plan is to position Valkyria as the face of the Women's Intercontinental Title, making it the women's division's workhorse championship--she's definitely on the right track."

[3.0] "This was a big dud. Besides the chant during Lyra's entrance, she is not over enough and Ivy Nile gets nothing. They were wrestling in near silence - a huge contrast to the reactions for the rest of the show, and they didn't do nearly enough with those circumstances to impress. Lyra sold her knee competently for a bit but disregarded it for the finish, she didn't feel like a surviving champion and Nile didn't feel like a threat at any point. I still don't really understand why they made her champion."

[6.0] "This match really stood out for me because of how well Lyra sold her knee injury. It's been a while since I've seen someone commit to selling a limb that effectively, and it added a lot of depth to the match. Two strong performances in a row from her is a great sign, especially for the Women's Intercontinental Championship scene."

[7.0] "The match was really good. Ivy was put over and clearly carried the match. She showcased great technical skills, while Lyra's selling was decent but had some issues. You can't end the match with your driver, especially when your supporting knee has been weakened throughout the match. At the very least, she should have made it wobble to show a warrior-like struggle in executing the move despite the injury, then immediately gone for a pin while holding her knee. But she didn't, which kind of broke the overall selling of the match."

[6.0] "I liked Lyra Valkyria's selling here, as she gutted her way through a successful title defence against Ivy Nile. Valkyria will have her work cut out for her soon though, with several top female names looking for a WrestleMania match."

[5.0] "This match was interesting, definitely feels like an improvement from their previous bouts with Dakota Kai, I liked that this was treated like a proper title match, it wasn't just a null action, with zero psychology and random moves being thrown, and despite being pretty much heatless, Lyra's limb work and struggle was very nice to watch, she was selling damage on her left knee, and this made the match very interesting. The ankle lock by Ivy Nile was great, excellent near finish, the selling was on point as well. After that, Lyra managed to recover and won the match, she did a move that she fell on her knees though, and didn't sold at all, that could've been better worked, but overall the title defense was solid - {**1/2}"
