[7.0] "Kyle Fletcher really needs a character change. I know people are really behind him as this new bad guy, but he is still just a dude named Kyle. Just have him call himself Protostar and drop the dork name. He will never go where you want him to go while named Kyle Fletcher. Too complicated for AEW to understand, I know. Anyway, I liked this well enough. Better than the first and horribly overhyped meeting. Briscoe actually sold as the babyface this time, like I wanted. I did not expect a crimson mask in some random Collision main event."
[9.0] "Surprisingly better than their Continental Classic match, Whilst that didn't have that crazy finishing sequence, this does have blood, which is beautiful. Kyle's a little more subdued in the facial expressions this go around, and Mark's earnest fighting spirit was done so well. Both guys were on top form. Four and a Quarter Stars out of Five."
[7.0] "****1/2 a great match, the chemistry between both is great, great sequences, great spots and with very good timing, I think they should have had more time because the ending feels too spontaneous and it took away the rhythm of the match, very good ending but they should have had more time"
[8.0] "Sehr gutes Match.Tolles zweites Match der beiden, mit tollem Pacing und passender Härte, hoffe Match 3 lässt nicht zu lange auf sich warten. ****"
[8.0] "Didn't see the first match but this one was good. The action was really quick and the both charachter works were good. I felt like they could have gone slightly longer because of the absence of a time limit but for what it was this was great sprint. ****1/4"
[8.0] "Hmm, yeah it definetely was a good match for a TV product and probably the best match I've seen from Briscoe yet. I only have problems with two things. Again, AEW couldn't do a match without that overused cliché of the opponent having to bleed and the second thing is, that I found that rather shitty, that Fletcher no sold that two Froggy Balls - one of which put him through a damn table - but he shrugged it off like it was nothing. The brainbuster on the corner was sick though. 7.9 out of 10."
[7.0] "Really good match this. I continue to be very impressed with Kyle Fletcher. Never realised how tall he was in Aussie Open for some reason, he's got a tremendous look and he's become a terrific upper-mid card singles guy now. Briscoe is always fantastic to watch regardless. If I had one critique here its just the number of 2.99 kick outs in a TV main event sort of leaves you nowhere to go on PPV at times, its sort of crazy what it took to put Briscoe away. That's a frequent criticism I find myself having with AEW - leave something out there for the PPV, but its very much nitpicking."
[8.0] "these guys have tremendous chemistry and had a second great collison main event between them. fletcher is the future and mark briscoe should not be forgotten."
[8.0] "This was a fantastic main event from the residues of the Continental Classic tourney, and it had all the flavors of a Briscoe banger! Briscoe is someone who could easily be slotted into any storyline because of his overpowering popularity along with a strong background of a real fighter. On the other hand, there's Fletcher who has ascended immensely as a solo prospect showing a bright vision of a textbook heel. Both men complemented each other's styles very well and delivered an excellent brawl. I believe this could be the way for Briscoe to side with Omega & Ospreay for this rivalry's extension and I don't mind seeing such a high act be a part of this. 4 out of 5 stars!"
[5.0] "I don't think there is anything about this match that makes it above average outside of 2 spots which to be fair I liked. Other than that, the match was just okay and they didn't do anything special. Fletcher has been great lately so I hope he kills it again soon."
[8.0] "Tremendous match between two of the best wrestlers in the world right now, this was sensational, Briscoe and Fletcher mastered very well the classic underdog babyface vs cocky heel dynamic, and both men character work here was great. I loved the application of the moves, loud and brutal, and Mark's blading was incredible, right at the beginning of the match, he started to bleed and it was a very nice look, every move felt painful. The anticipation for the table breaking spot was also fantastic, and the entire match was just super well worked, with a lot of details, things that only the great wrestlers can pull, very enjoyable to watch. After taking some nasty moves, the Protostar recovered and won the match with a strike on the turnbuckle - {****}"
[8.0] "Killer match that stands ahead of everything else AEW has done on TV this year. Great chemistry with these two as they can work a pace and take really ugly bumps that elevate the stakes of a match. Fletcher is owning his character of being the most arrogant member of the Callus family that can back it up while also taking cheap shots when he needs to. The blood, hot crowd, and the crazy table spot were all perfect ingredients to make this main event feel like a car wreck in all the right ways. ****"
[8.0] "[4.0*] Another incredible match for these two, my second favorite TV match of the year until now. I loved their interactions with the table during the commercial break, so great to add heat to the bout. Phenomenal action, hot crowd, a lot of blood and crazy nearfalls, this was just a complete TV match that had no right being this good with only 14 minutes. AEW used to do this kind of business in 2022 with Bryan and Mox and I am happy they did it again now."
[8.0] "This match made Mark Briscoe look like a killer, I wish they do more with him because any time he's given a chance he delivers. He's over as a babyface and can accomplish so much more. Good main event."
[8.0] "This match was great. Mark Briscoe once again overdelivers, he just can't help himself. Kyle Fletcher is a star. He has added personality and physique to his skill set and he's about to go straight to the top. This match had everything you need. It was well paced, well structured, and two guys who know what they are trying to achieve pulling together. I would love to see a third match should there be a reason to do so. BANGER."
[6.0] "Similar problem to the Keith vs Bandido match earlier in the show in that there is a part of the match that is very obviously structured around the commercial break, something I really dislike in TV matches, but at least this handles it a bit better. And this match is better thanks to the shared history between these two and the very obvious face vs heel dynamic between them. Briscoe is as red as a tomato and Fletcher does some good heel stuff. Just the type of TV match this company needs to be having every week."
[9.0] "That was a banger! It's not better than the first match I think, but the difference is minimum. Fletcher is so good at his heel work and Briscoe is so good at his face work. They can face each other 10 times more with that chemistry"
[10.0] "From the start of the match to the end, we witnessed the creation of a great sequence from these two super wrestlers, as well as an unparalleled heelwork from Fletcher and an incredibly strong storytelling for their strikes. Fletcher was maneuvering on Briscoe's head and after he made Briscoe's head bleed, he was better at storytelling his strikes (before, I was thinking of making Briscoe's head bleed with the storytelling of his strikes). One of the sequences that was supposed to be one of the best sequences in history was the sequence of using the table (the way Briscoe placed the table showed this at the beginning of the match and the way the two wrestlers struggled to gain momentum to use the table when Briscoe tried to throw Fletcher on the table with his single strike and finally Briscoe elbowed Fletcher) was all wonderful. In between, there were a lot of different strikes and sequences that you just have to see. The ending of the match was also great, and in the end, Fletcher was able to defeat Briscoe. Along with all of this, Arena, the Nearfalls, the two wrestlers' slams, and especially, Fletcher's post-match promo and everything else you can think of helped make this match great."
[10.0] "I first saw Kyle Fletcher way back in 2017, a guy wandering the scene in Europe here and there. He even did King of Trios that year because they did it in the UK, something which I had forgotten until I looked it up. Frankly he didn't make much impression then. Over time I got to know him better as one half of Aussie Open with Mark Davis, a fine tag team but one I didn't get overly excited about, and when I did it was usually about the hard striking Davis. Fletcher was the weird looking one with bad hair and I just didn't vibe with his style. Over time he also seemed to veer more into Ospreay-esque territory where he would just do all his stuff for the sake of it, and while not without talent he wasn't good enough at that to really stand out. I pretty much dismissed the guy as not interesting to me, and groaned when he was set up for a singles push in AEW under the perpetually irritating Don Callis. At first I didn't see anything different in the guy than I had before and was soon skipping over many of his matches. But eventually I started hearing comments from folks online, folks who have similar taste to mine, saying hey look, Fletcher is actually working on his heel character now, he's developing his game. Even then I wasn't sold on what I saw, there were definitely more heel mannerisms as opposed to simply getting the spots in, but it seemed rather basic to me. Well, within the last few weeks something either clicked for him or me because in this match I finally saw what felt like some true potential with Fletcher. I've seen him fight Mark Briscoe before and there was always chemistry there, though the previous matches were nothing to write home about, but something here just made it work for me. Briscoe is one of the purest babyfaces you can get so his great performance was expected, but I felt like Fletcher went above and beyond. The wobbly selling when he got hit, bouncing around big for Briscoe's offense, the crowd engagement, the teasing then putting off the table spot as long as possible, and DAMN how good did that spot look when they finally did it? Everything just clicked and this was by a big margin the best I've seen Fletcher look. I'm not saying he's flying to the very top of my favorites list, but now I'm actually interested in what he does next. I hope he can keep up this style, too many wrestlers today stagnate on their athletics and not enough heels work to actually develop their tactics like Fletcher has, so I give him a lot of props. In my top 10 matches of the year to date."
[9.0] "An incredible match in what has been a phenominal couple of months for Kyle. Kyle has been able to deliver big time performances in the past couple of months and evolve and stand on his own two feet as an act. Shedding any resemblence of a wrestler trying to figure out who he is and evolving into who he knows he is. Kyle Fletcher has been on a tear of incredible matches eespecial since the start of the C2 which this match derives from, being Fletcher's only lost in the tournament he seeked to get his win back. Mark Briscoe is no slouch either. Being one of the best in the world for over two decades at rhis piunt Mark stands his ground and showcases who he is. Mark get busted open early into the match and that became the story of the match, a ticking timer for Mark to try and put the young Ky Fletch away or risk a lose due to the loss of blood. Mark delivers a beautiful Froggy Bow on the outside through the table and Fletcher gives great offense himself. For Mark Briscoe though he unfortunately comes up short with a Brainbuster off the top rope. An amazing match that capped a night of good action this is a must watch from the AEW side this year. ****1/4"
[10.0] "I much preferred the drama of that C2 nail-biter going down right to the wire, so matching it was going to be a tall order. They almost succeeded, and even in failing to do so, they still ran something like a 9.74 against Usain Bolt. Briscoe is the type of babyface that looks really good in a hard-fought defeat, and Fletcher is the dastardly heel you love to hate. Put them together, add in the brilliant chemistry the two men have, and just let them go hammer and tong for 15 minutes, and you get a frankly incredible match."
[9.0] "Did not expect these two to go this hard and for this to be this good, but damn, they did! Awesome match and a great way to cap an excellent Collision."
[9.0] "Phenomenal match. Equal parts drama, brutality and athleticism. Both guys gave as much as they got and everything was executed nearly flawless. A contender for early MOTY on 2025."
[8.0] "Fantastic babyface fire from Briscoe repeatedly extinguished with well-timed cutoffs from Fletcher. Mark turned the clock back here to some concussive & blood-soaked, prime-era Briscoes mayhem ***3/4"
[7.0] "This match took a little while to get going but picked up towards the end with the help of a little blood and a nice table spot. Despite Briscoe's previous upset win over Fletcher, these two feel like they're on different trajectories and that made anything but a Kyle win a little hard to buy, especially with the Australian show coming up. They did a good job of making an obvious result compelling. Even though the crowd knew who was going to win, having Briscoe kick out of a near fall was like a band walking back on stage for an encore and the fans were into it, demonstrating the value of not overusing big kick-outs throughout a show. I felt like both guys shrugged off the table bump a little quickly but at least it came near the end."
[9.0] "Man, these two just have a great chemistry. Their first match in the C2 was excellent with Briscoe getting an upset victory, this was one was equally as good with Fletcher avenging that loss before his homecoming to Australia. The crowd's invested, both men play their roles to perfection (Kyle's a great heel that really knows how to get heat while Briscoe is amognst the best babyfaces in the world) and the action was really good. Great intenisity from the get go, Briscoe gets color which adds a great visual to the match, both men's offense looked great (those kicks by Fletcher were vicious) and there's a great table spot near the end. Some good nearfalls too. In the end Fletcher wins after a devasting top rope brainbuster. 9/10 - 4.5*/5*"
[10.0] "One of the best things about tournament wrestling is that sometimes you stumble into these great pairings, this was not the first great match between Briscoe and Fletcher and hopefully it won't be the last. Briscoe is an ultimate babyface, one that can lose and lose without really losing. He's also quite a giving performer as everything he did here was beneficial to Fletcher. Fletcher was put over CLEAN while still making sure Briscoe was presented good enough that beating him meant something. A hot corwd, great in-ring action and a good in-ring and outside the ring story (with a pinch of blood) all combined to give us an all-timer TV main event."
[9.0] "A very underrated and odd matchup, they have VERY good chekistry with each other and this being their best match yet, i loved the intensity and action in this match, Briscoe with his wild antics is always a fun watch (4.5/5)"
[9.0] "This was my match of the night. Two guys that have good chemistry together who had already had a great match during the Continental Classic. Fletcher is legit!"
[9.0] "A second great match between Mark Briscoe and Kyle Fletcher, with Fletcher getting revenge for his loss to Briscoe in the Continental Classic. A lot of people skip Collision because they don't think anything important happens, but they miss out on great matches like this one."
[8.0] "Another great match between them, i wouldn't expect that this two will have so good chemistry. Fletcher looks very good and i'm in shock how he improve in last months and it's just a beginning. Hope we will get a trilogy for this two."
