Still not sure why that would be, but here's at least one thing she did! Returning both to her native country and to a promotion where she spent a lot of time pre-AEW, the women-centric EVE promotion out of the UK, she was able to match up against one of the more noteworthy women currently unsigned to a major promotion, Alex Windsor. The crowd was hot to see this one and why shouldn't they be? What they got was a tremendous slugfest, a very hard hitting fight between two very talented wrestlers. I appreciated the story approach to this match, as Jamie started out with probably the majority of cheers, yet with some brutal bullying tactics she shifted the crowd to rally more behind Windsor and create some additional excitement to the hope that she might defeat a big star like Hayter. Ultimately Hayter did get the victory but not without a great effort, and the crowd ended up showering love on both wrestlers when all was said and done. I'd rank this as my #26 match of the year so far, I really enjoyed it and I hope we see some feature length Hayter matches in AEW again before too long. |

It's Alex Windsor vs. Jamie Hayter, you cannot go wrong with that, but I'll admit, I did not expect them to have as great of a match as they did. This was 25+ Minutes of both women slugging it out, with Hayter showing more of her old EVE persona, playing into more of a heel character, whereas Windsor played more of a face. I liked the way that the commentators mentioned the size of the ring, it brought in an extra layer of in-ring psychology and story-telling. While the opening segments did stall quite a bit, that doesn't take away from what an incredible match this was. ****1/2 |

Only nitpick is the kick out at one towards the end, other than that this was about as good as it could've feasibly been and one of the best matches I've ever seen live. Magic. |

There were some good nearfalls but the match never felt truly blow and didn't match up to some of the already astounding women's matches we've had in Japan in 2025. The biggest compliment was how they managed the time, even if I wasn't living and dying with the action, they paced the match really well and told a good story. Hope to see Jamie back again soon and Alex continues her impressive run of big matches in recent years. This is a really strong 7 edging on 8. A good homecoming for Jamie and a good ending to super fun show, Eve is always a great time. |
