[5.0] "I get the story reason for this, but that doesn't change that this was just not great. That said, I'd like to see what these two can do against each other in some sort of No Disqualification-type match. I feel like things could get pretty crazy there."
[3.0] "This was honestly a waste of time. Braun and Jacob definitely could've had a better match with each other, and I hope we get that soon, but this was mostly a storyline given match. Seeing Strowman like this really hurts the younger fan in me cause of how Braun used to be booked back then."
[7.0] "At first I was disappointed with the DQ finish this match received. The match was flowing nicely for me. Fatu looks like such a beast so to see him against an equal monster is interesting. Strowman doesn't really do it for me but I feel he played his role well here. The DQ Finish was annoying, however, it worked so well once Fatu was able to really unleash his attack. The multiple moonsaults were great and he showed the beast he really is."
[6.0] "Honestly I thought it was good before the DQ, it didn't meet the monster vs monster expectation but it made Jacob look like a crazed maniac (for like a week)."
[7.0] "This was a great device to show off Jacob's raw power. Definitely a good character device for sure. Braun also delivered as he usually does. I enjoyed all of the big power spots between them like when Braun sends Jacob flying across the announcer's table. Although the DQ finish can most of the time seem underwhelming or anti climatic, I think it works really well in this situation. This match was to show that Jacob Fatu is a psychotic unstoppable beast. It succeeded in that. The amount of blood and the scene that was Braun after Jacob had his way with him after the match was pretty brutal. Great work by both here. Enjoyed watching this. Hope they get some more good opponents for Jacob."
[2.0] "This match started off to be something that was going to be a showstopper in my humblest opinion! It was absolutely dreadful! Then too matters off; it ended in a DQ which again in my opinion made it the worst possible match! I have all my fingers crossed they are saving this for a big Stipulation at one of the PLE's. I genuinely despised this match!"
[4.0] "I was a little let down with this one but I hope its because they are going to run it back. Just feel like two big guys can't get a win over each other"
[6.0] "Jacob Fatu looks strong and destroys a monster, would've preferred him just winning clean and then carrying on beating Braun down. But it worked and Fatu looks like a monster. Nice moonsaults from him too"
[5.0] "A match that ended prematurely in unfortunate circumstances but ended up being turned into an angle that made Jacob Fatu look like a monster heel! The match itself isn't anything special or noteworthy. This was more of a story device than a match itself, overall mediocre match risen by the outcome. [**3/4]"
[4.0] "Nothing unexpected, but I had some hope that Fatu could elevate this despite Braun's limitations. Enormous commercial and a DQ finish never go over well for me."
[0.0] "This is exactly what I expected. It was terrible. Braun Strowman got a job because he was born a really big guy. The end. Fatu has real talent and can perform a lot better than this. This probably works better if you're a kid because I can easily watch some old boring big man matches but I have nostalgia on my side for those. However, I'm not a kid anymore and I thought this match was hot garbage. The drizzling shits, such as it were. Braun has the exact same trajectory as Ryback. They were over but it didn't last long. Like Ryback, Braun has no value outside of WWE."
[0.0] "WWE dropped the ball with this one! There was barely any match shown, and most of it was outside the ring with Braun running around. WWE already had Braun vs. Bronson Reed. What was the point of this match? I don't know. The DQ finish only made it feel worse. In my mind, Fatu's attack on Strowman was exaggerated. We get it; he's a bad guy."
[5.0] "(Grade:D/**) It was an alright big man on big man match. Fatu looked good and Strowman stature added a bit of questioning on if Fatu could take him down. The DQ finish I wasn't a big fan of. However, the post-match assault was cool to see."
[6.0] "Everything that happened in this match laid the foundation for the monstrous post-match assault by Jacob, and credits to Strowman for taking those bumps like a pro and making Jacob look like a billion bucks. Match-wise, it was as good as expected; a literal car crash! Both men's meaty size matched very well for a sprint of powerful strikes and grapples with a good mix of Jacob's awe-striking athleticism. 3 out of 5 stars!"
[6.0] "A match that will be remembered far more for what happened after it finished. Braun Strowman has now played a massive role in building two new monsters - Bronson Reed and Jacob Fatu."
[5.0] "Ultimately serving as the bridge to an immense post-match angle, this honestly isn't much good. In order to make up for that later business, Strowman takes a lot of this, a little too much in my view. Granted, Fatu's bumping is a treat to watch but unfortunately, Strowman's current state leaves him unable to fully capitalise. Hopefully we get a five minute shootout between these two at some point but for now, a quietly disappointing first-time meeting. **1/4"
[5.0] "The match itself really isn't that important, but even this is latently better than it could have been. It's the aftermath, with juice and uncompromising intensity, that makes Jacob Fatu probably the most acutely hot WWE Samoan representative, ahead of his Bloodline colleague Sikoa."
[6.0] "The match itself was pretty forgettable outside of a Fatu Suicide Dive but the post match beat down got Jacob over huge with the destruction of Braun and leaving him a bloody mess. Solid 3 stars."
[4.0] "A bad match with bad work on one side with a bad finish that makes zero sense. The short build of Braun made it obvious what this match was going to be, but it still under delivered. The naff showman express was over used and the hip attack somehow drawing a DQ ending is the dumbest match booking I've seen in a while. Luckily the after match shenanigans served their purpose but even that felt over done. No doubt about it, Fatu is a megastar and one of the best acts in any company. But this match sucked."
[9.0] "Absolutely no shame in rating this a 9, loved every second of this. It had one goal in mind - to show Jacob Fatu as an absolute monster, and it went further than that in a huge way."
[6.0] "For the match alone, this is like a 4/10, maybe a 5/10. But the post match angle was geniunely so fantastic that I am willing to bump this up a rating or 2"
[4.0] "Interspersed with a long commercial, this short match and its DQ-induced ending looked more like an angle than anything else. Not bad, but rather anecdotal at this stage. In-ring quality: 0.5/4. Stakes: 0.5/2. Justification: 0.25/1. Place on the map: 1/1. Suspense: 1/1. Bonus/Malus: none. Total: 4.25/10. Match seen on WWE's YouTube channel."
[8.0] "This was more of angle but my goodness was this so good on how it played out. They established as the monster that he is. That shot of Strowman with his face all bloody was nuts. This man is destroying Strowman and the crowd is chanting Fatu! Can you believe we had to endure that solo push in the summer lololol. Not to rag on the guy but my goodness, he's not bad by any means but he was clearly pushing above his pay grade that no one took seriously like that all. Very happy things have been corrected for the better now. Jacob is on the way! Need a rematch between the two in a sick ass plunder match. Again this rocked. ****"
[5.0] "This match should never have ended in a DQ. This was a good fight, but I think they tried to protect Strowman by having him win by DQ, despite the fact that he was broken and bloody at the end. Which is the dumbest ending to that match. Honestly, just give Fatu the win, Strowman can take it, and it actually would have added to his story to have been beaten by him. Fatu looked great, Strowman looked okay, and really if Fatu had won I think it would have made him look stronger than going for the wild man DQ ending. We get it, he's craaaaazy, but that doesn't mean he can't win at the same time."
[4.0] "As an angle, not as bad as the match. But the match was severely undercooked. Honestly would've been better if it was a Cena/Lesnar-esque squash instead of ending in a DQ."
[2.0] "The match itself is a huge joke. We must see barely 2 minutes of the match if we remove the commercial breaks before the match turns into an angle. So yes the angle is great, and if it can allow us to build a dangerous Jacob Fatu I am for it. But in itself the match is to be skipped. (1*)"
[6.0] "I was expecting more from the in-ring standpoint, something more physically impressive but I think the match was quite entertaining and it perfectly served its purpose, putting over Jacob Fatu as an assassin beast, more out of control and bloodthirsty than ever after Solo Sikoa got humilliated. This right here boosted him as a star even more than ever, and the guy was already settling himself as a next big thing. Entertaining and serviceable match, even better booking for Jacob and a great post match attack (I'm tired of referees, security and producers coming out to do absolutely nothing but yell at attackers and, in the case of guards, being manhandled. They're just there for shock value that is completely lost after repeating the same scheme over and over. At least try to hold him back or something, not just yell at him uselessly) (*** 1/4)"
[5.0] "one of the best post match segments i've seen in a while that legitimately made a guy seem like a bigger star i mean the match itself is solid it's alright i just didn't like the finish. 8 hip attacks which the ref then looks like a dork and asks fatu to stop and gets chucked out the ring. If fatu is gonna destroy strowman with a move and do this whole deal why not do a move that seems a bit more impactful and seems like a bigger deal of a move and not a move we see every other 5 minutes in almost every match ever. 2.50 stars but awesome post match"
[8.0] "I'm going high on this one. I don't care about the DQ finish, this match, and more importantly the post match, put Jacob Fatu over as the monster he needs to be. Braun sold like a good 'en and nice to see such brutality and blood on a fed show. Love how Fatu was cheered as well and got 'one more time' chants after his first moonsault. Be interesting to see if they can turn him face and still maintain his aura."
[5.0] "Great promo from Jacob to start this off. The break spot is an impressive dive that Strowman sells quite well. Back from commercial and then it's Fatu bumping like a madman. He regains control and begins hip attacking Strowman over and over and gets DQ'd for it. Not much of a match here, but the aftermath features some moonsaults and strongman breaking a blood pack in his mouth."
[6.0] "Fine match that was there to build Fatu and the post-match angle. Strowman did have fun with the running should blocks on the outside. DQ finish actually worked with trying to make Fatu this dangerous monster."
[4.0] "This was a bad match. The problem is Fatu needs to have opportunities to be really fast. Putting him in there against the slow lumbering Strowman didn't do him any favors. The real story was the vicious beat down that Fatu handed out. I love Fatu and the crowd did too. It might be hard to keep him the viscous heel when he's getting the Austin reaction. Moonsault after moonsault and running hip shots to a downed strowman left Strowman a bloody mess until Tama came to rein him in."
[6.0] "**3/4 (5.5/10) You know the DQ alone is what will build the ire of certain fans! Yeah, there was a ton of build up to the battle of monsters, and considering how Fatu beating the living hell out of the monster of all monsters, then we can see them running this back with (possibly) a special stipulation to give more intensity to the air. But, even if you hated the disqualification result, you can't deny that the post-match beatdown was one of the all time greatest beatdowns we've seen anyone take."
[3.0] "Completely disappointed considering the hype that was being built around this monster vs. monster insane match. It was never going to be brilliant, but why couldn't they have Jacob Fatu pick up a victory and completely demolish Braun Strowman? A disqualification loss will keep both "safe, " but it really doesn't in Fatu's favour. Yeah, he put Strowman on the shelf after the match beatdown, but in terms of victory credibility, he's just lost his second singles match."
[3.0] "The only bad match of the night. This was all about getting Fatu over as a dangerous guy that can put Strowman on the shelf. After the post-match they kind of managed to do that, even though the fake blood they used looked bad and could have been skipped entirely. The match itself was a flop of a brawl that wanted to pretend it was doing something crazier than they ever did. The action was flat, never getting close to finding a good pace and only being a way to get to the angle afterwards. *1/2"
[5.0] "This had potential, but it wasn't fulfilled. The ending was boring, although I know it was done to protect Strowman from losing cleanly as Fatu obviously couldn't lose. Nice action outside the ring, but overall it's a bit disappointing"
[6.0] "The match in itself was nothing much and the DQ-finish was a bit stupid. But it was saved by a great aftermatch of Strowman being beaten to the pulp, with a great selling from Braun. 6/10."
