[7.0] "this was actually entertaining in my opinion, rhea getting to do moves she usually doesn't get to do was fun to watch, and this is one of the few people nia jax has chemistry with. ***1/2"

[8.0] "This was fun lil sprint. I still prefer their match at the chamber but if anyone thinks that this was better I would have no issue with that take at all. To think there was a point in time where folks were saying that Rhea isn't a good wrestler, hell they probably are still saying that but they are dead wrong. Nia Jax what more is there to say about her (the wrestler) another tv banger and continues to show why she is one of the best hhh rehires. This match rocked. ****"

BasuraNocturna wrote on 09.07.2025:
[7.0] "Rhea is tasked with overcoming a physical challenge like beating Nia Jax. Her work immediately reflects that. Not only by changing her move-set to fight off a bigger foe, but by the urgency in that she executes her every move. Nia is also good here. From the cheap shot, to the brutal and simple cut offs. Her selling is very precise, not bumping around, but keeping the big bumps for the finish to be even more satisfying. Good story also, with Jax's showboating against a way more urgent Ripley being what ultimately cost her the bout."

Screaming Enigma wrote on 18.03.2025:
[6.0] "Surprised to say that this wasn't my least favorite match of the night. Ripley's great, but Jax has continued to produce mid matches more often than not for me, personally. This wasn't particularly bad or anything, but it wasn't my favorite. I also don't really know why they ran this feud in the first place, considering that we got it the last time Ripley was champion at Elimination Chamber 2024."

[4.0] "It's pretty serviceable, but kind of lacks what could make it a better match. I've come to think that Jax is underrated and to an extent, the wrestling ability of Ripley is as well. She's a great babyface, able to get the crowd behind her and also sells Jax as a monster. Jax is a great heel, able to get real heat and make Ripley look good. I just think that this match felt a little too short and the ending sort of came out of no where in a bad way."

[6.0] "Rhea and Nia will probably never not entertain me. They are both at the top of their game right now. However, the story is just not here for this match. I enjoyed the match mostly even though it was a little short. Me enjoying it was purely for the performers and their ability. Just no story. Women's division is lacking good feuds for Rhea in my opinion. I do admire Nia's work ethic right now though. She gets the job done in the roles she is given. Rhea is great but sadly without a great story her character is a little stale to me. Still a huge fan of hers."

AnsonCaged wrote on 29.01.2025:
[7.0] "Good match between these two that was fairly unsurprising. The work was strong and Nia is so much better than she used to be. Hurt by an enormous commercial break. Nothing to write home about, or horribly memorable, but a good match to open the show."
Open The Vault wrote on 29.01.2025:
[6.0] "A smidget better than their match last year at Elimination Chamber. Nia Jax and Rhea Ripley are always fun in the ring with each other. Rhea sells her ass off here and we get some cool moves like that sick Twirl a Whirl DDT I was not expecting in the slightest. Good opening match and a good way to get the crowd pumped for what's to come. [***1/4]"
Rassle Fan wrote on 29.01.2025:
[4.0] "I can't fathom rating this match a 7. It was a very typical Nia Jax snoozefest. She's not better, she just learned to make up for it with admittedly better character work. It's an important part of wrestling but when you can't do anything except sit on your opponent from the second rope (Yokozuna was far more athletic than her), you're not interesting to watch."
liorb1985 wrote on 29.01.2025:
[5.0] "The opener disappointed me a lot. Last year, at the Elimination Chamber PLE, Rhea & Nia performed much better than this one. It was an unmemorable, middle-of-the-crop match with zero heat, given that it was a title match. Rhea and Nia did their best, but it had no big-match atmosphere."
AJN7 wrote on 28.01.2025:

Prince Osborne wrote on 28.01.2025:
[6.0] "Even though their previous match felt supreme (because of the atmosphere), it was the same as that one in terms of in-ring prowess. Nonetheless, both women developed great chemistry as rivals and as individual characters which led to an enjoyable opener. There was no doubt about the result as Rhea has barely defended the title since her win, and Nia did great work as her first challenger. 3 out of 5 stars!"
Beeebon wrote on 28.01.2025:
[5.0] "Certainly not a bad match I just found myself not really invested in much of what happened. Rhea's powerbomb to Nia was impressive though."
JoeyBingBong wrote on 28.01.2025:
[7.0] "These two closed a PPV last year and while decent, their efforts didn't come close to my admittedly optimistic expectations. Thankfully, an opening sprint proved to be far more suitable than a more conventional maint event, with this greatly exceeding that past meeting. It's a lot more back and forth, with bombs making up much of the runtime. That allows the rhythm to stumble a time or two, with clobbering leading them over the line. Good match! ***1/4"
BoltsFan2132 wrote on 28.01.2025:

HaydenTipp410 wrote on 27.01.2025:
[8.0] "Thought this was a lot of fun and did everything it needed to. Best match of Rhea's in a while, and was fun to see her work as the smaller wrestler compared to Jax. Lot of fun spots and didn't overstay its welcome. The code red from Rhea was clean, and the Annihilator to Rhea's back looked nasty. Nia didn't have to do too much, and just got to work as a big intimidating monster which is where she works best. Glad to see Rhea wrestling more and hope she wrestles more on TV soon. Overall had fun watching and was entertained throughout."

GimliJr wrote on 27.01.2025:
[6.0] "Despite the lack of suspense and the somewhat simple construction, the match delivered some good sequences and, I hope, launched a fine reign for a Rhea who looked strong and invicible thanks to this match. In-ring quality: 2/4. Stakes: 1.75/2. Justification: 0.75/1. Place on card: 1/1. Suspense: 0/1. Bonus/Malus: none. Total: 6.25/10. Match seen on WWE's YouTube channel."

[5.0] "As usual, Jax is absolutely the weak point in every match she is in. Ripley is doing her best with every match she's in, including this, but Jax just has a knack to bore endlessly in every single match I watch of hers, this was no different. There was nothing truly memorable here, and as everyone knew, this offered no challenge to Rheas title reign. There's no chemistry between the two despite Rhea's efforts. Not to mention cutting to an advert in the middle of a title match is pretty ridiculous."
sarahlicity wrote on 27.01.2025:
[5.0] "It's perhaps indicative of Triple H's tendency to slow-burn stories to the point of barely cooking at times that it's a year later and we've circled back to this: Rhea as champion again, in a match that Nia was never going to win. It is, however, an indication of how much Nia has improved, which is: she has to an extent, but not to the extent that she should've held the other world title on SmackDown last year. Very much a house-show feel to this match, which is a statement about this run of shows more than anything else."
Frank Shooter wrote on 26.01.2025:
[7.0] "As nonsensical as this match was, I never expected it to be so fun. Much, much better than the Elimination Chamber match last year, Rhea going all out with a highly dynamic performance from second 1 all the way to the end. A match that didn't need to be long to be enjoyable and it played well with both women strenghts and they showed good chemistry together. Rhea's selling once again is amazing, the logic and the coherence of the match, with Rhea always trying to end Nia as soon as possible and not playing around, being truly difficult for her to do so and costing her some advantages that Nia used on her favor, but her arrogance got the best of her and that ultimately led to her dismissal and Rhea retained. Not great, but good little story being told in a match with their in-ring work. Really pleased with what we got here (*** 1/2)"

[7.0] "Nia headbutts Rhea ahead of the introductions, but Rhea is able to hit a tornado dot and a rolling senton to the outside. Jax hits a 2nd rope samoan drop and we're into the first commercial break. Rhea is flipping around all over the place like a luchador. Probably doing this because she never gets someone bigger than her to use as a base for these types of maneuvers. Really impressive to see this stuff from her, no doubt the best female wrestler working today. She then hits a cross body to the outside. Seriously, she's wrestling like Rey Mysterio or some shit. Feats of strength from her as well. Impressive short-ish match here."

They busted there asses to give us a good little car crash match. Some really fun spots in this match as well. Really cool opening to the match as well that i enjoyed. I am not sure what rhea does heading into mania i'm sure she will defend the title inside elimination chamber maybe? Not sure who her next title defense will be other than mania. But this was some good shit 3.25 stars"

[6.0] "This was a pretty decent match between Ripley and Jax. I respect how much Jax has really improved since coming back to WWE; it's like she completely changed her game, and it's great. The outcome was always inevitably obvious with Ripley retaining, so it didn't really feel like a nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat drama-compact match."

[7.0] "***1/2 (07/10) Ironically, I had rated their match at Elimination Chamber Perth the same that I had given to at SNME XXXVIII. But this was significantly cut shorter, which is saying a lot if you can pack in a world of moves and spots in less time you were given origimally, which is also kind of a disservice to the two queens in the ring, not of the ring (because yes that's Nia), in the ring! I would not mind seeing these two at a Mania. I don't know what they have planned, but since they did this now, I can see Rhea being arrange with another destiny."
DOUKI4CHAMP wrote on 26.01.2025:
[6.0] "This is the first WWE match that I watched this year and it was a positive experience. Having a limited wrestler like Nia can make matches feel like a drag, but they made this more of a sprint structure with nothing but big moves that hides her weaknesses really well. Ripley still comes across as a top name in wrestling and shows some impressive strength, the failed submission attempt looked awkward though and hurt the flow, even if it was part of the plan. Then the no-selling of the Annihilator felt like something that I can not look past, it hurts the effect of the move in the future and didn't add anything to the match. ***"

[6.0] "It wasn"t a bad match overall. The action was more than decent, and probably better than their previous encounter in Australia. It started strong with Nia showing a lot of aggressivity but I really didn't like the finish. Has the no-selling of finishers become something normal in those WWE show (as there seems to be a trend with the Netflix debut). How did Rhea basically just stood up and took back the control after the Banzai Drop - that has been shown as a very protected finisher ? That makes no sense and will not help people believe than Rhea has anything but plot armor at this point... 6/10."
ShaliK wrote on 26.01.2025:
[5.0] "A very disappointing match to start this show. A jerky impression where nothing stands out. The chemistry doesn't work here, yet their match at Elimination Chamber 2024 was quite good. But here we are greeted with an advertisement from the beginning of the match, which doesn't help, we thought we were in a simple RAW match. We can see directly that the WWE did not try to do anything different compared to the negative points of the previous Saturday Night's Main Event. It's frustrating to start a show like that. (2*1/2)"
robbyplaha wrote on 26.01.2025:
[7.0] "A solid opener to start the show. In my opinion this was a lot better than the Elimination Chamber match back in Australia last year. Rhea Ripley had a solid performance. Her and Nia Jax really do have a solid chemistry in the ring because this match and the last year match were pretty solid. I like how it started off with the head - butt during the introduction by Nia Jax. I do like the fact that now Rhea Ripley can have a fun title reign without the whole Judgement Day Vortex stuff. But other than that solid match too open this old - school style show of WWE Saturday's Night Main Event."

"5/10. Some decent lady hoss work. Both women show some power but not super memorable due in part to the short length. On the one hand, getting Nia Jax up for a Riptide was impressive; on the other hand, it looked really awkward."

[6.0] "Good match to open the show, probably the shortest match of the night but still did it's purpose, basically another defense for Rhea, the match was good and started really good and then went a little down for me, there's really nothing else to say about this match without being too much, Nia was good, Rhea was good and nothing else like story or else really impressed me on this match, so I think the rating is peferct and what's next for Rhea? She will arrive to WrestleMania as champion and yeah, so I think a good rating will be 6/10 [***1/2]"
