1 | 14.01.2025 | BlackVikingGZ | 7.0 | I think this is the best match this two could have and I enjoyed it a lot. I have been really interested in this storyline and all this power struggle between Erik Watts and Don Callis. It made me change my opinion of Erik Watts as he was a very entertaining Director of Authority with all his over the top comments, crazy matches and stipulations. He did a great job playing that role and I think he is not getting the flowers he deserves for this. But talking about the match. All the wrestlers are handcuffed together at ringside, a babyface with a heel. At the start, Jarrett runs to the commentary desk and handcuffs Tenay to the guardrail. Watts uses that to handcuff Jarrett to El Leon. And then the match starts. From the beginning it was a brawl, full of strikes, punches and big moves by Erik Watts. Don Callis is better than I thought he'd be. Soon they get to the floor and start irish whiping against guardrails. Kid Kash and Jerry Lynn did a great job as lumberjacks, Kash tried to jump into the ring, but Lynn always yanked him off the steps or the apron. The biggest spot of the match was Watts sending Callis over a railing into the crowd and then trying to jump over it to hit Callis with a dive, but then Callis hitting a chair shot while Watts was mid air. After that they begin using more weapons. Callis tried to run to the backstage, but Watts stoped him. They get back to the ring with Callis gaining momentum with a knee drop and doing his own version of the strut. Watts regains momentum with some clotheslines, a bycicle kick and tries for the chokeslam. Callis knocks the ref down before being knocked by Watts. At that moment Trinity enters the match with a moonsault for a nearfall. The Naturals come and liberate all the heels and trap the babyfaces. Goldylocks enters the ring, Callis misses a title shot and Watts goes for a chokeslam, but Goldy then low blows Watts and Callis hits him with the title belt to cover him and win the match and the control of TNA, firing Watts in the process. I saw Goldyluck's turning for a while, but I think it was well done and it's the best decision to the future. Callis could be very good as a heel Authority person. We will see where all leads us to, but I'm really hyped for the future of TNA. |
