[8.0] "Excellent match, insanely heated stuff as a super young future Islander Tama fights Piper on behalf of Snuka (and it's probably a better match than Snuka would have delivered). Peak Piper is just insane, like live electricity crackling on a wire."
[7.0] "Almost more angle than match, but an absolute hoot nonetheless. The heat for this is intoxicating, with MSG's excitement only increasing once the bell rings. Tonga Kid and Piper bring the energy throughout, giving this a fire befitting that atmosphere. Strong piece of business, even if a match that's virtually in snapshot form. ***1/4"
[6.0] "Tonga Kid is pretty green at only 18 years old but Piper makes him look good with his great heel work in front of this red hot MSG crowd as they go ballistic. The atmosphere really makes this one, pretty cool match."
[5.0] "This was more of a teaser for the upcoming tag team match. Seven minutes into the match Jimmy Snuka and Bob Orton interfered, resulting in a double disqualification and the match didn't have time to really pick up the pace, albeit adding fire to Roddy and Snuka's feud, but overall rather disappointing. 5 points."
[6.0] "That was a pretty solid match. Jimmy Snuka being a surprise manager for Tonga Kid was a pleasant surprise and continuation from their feud a few months prior. Tonga was surprisingly charismatic in the ring. The finish also left me wanting to watch Snuka v. Piper, so the booking did its job. 6/10"
[7.0] "Roddy Piper had just set himself on proverbial fire, while up in New York after busting a coconut over Jimmy Snuka's cranium. This match was a portion of the flames that were licking the air every time Piper was around. Both performers look outstanding. A bit totally missed by the commentary was Piper's own version of the double leapfrog into a double chop to the chest Snuka spot - he performed it tremendously! The crowd is electric, active and maintains a loud roar of emotion. Things fall apart quickly for a shmoz finish but New York only cares about how much they hate Piper and love Snuka so whatever! Hard to rate, there was alotta action but was too haphazard for me to get invested - the abruptness to the end was a bit off putting as well."
[7.0] "Hot on the heels of the coconut incident, Tonga Kid steps up to help Snuka out against the dastardly Piper. The Tonga Kid was ahead of his time and really gives Piper a beating at the beginning of the match. This was fun. The crowd was on fire for Tonga Kid. Eventually, Bob Orton and Jimmy Snuka get involved and the match is thrown out, but this was hectic and tons of fun."
[6.0] "This was pretty good, the wrestling wasn't all that special, but the match was entertaining throughout and the crowd heat was off the charts. It helped build the feud between Piper and Snuka in the process, which indeed was the whole purpose of this match to begin with. Good stuff."
[7.0] "The match wasn't really much but the atmosphere was crazy, the crowd was so hot for Snuka and Piper was just receiving thunderous boos was great to see."
[6.0] "I had watch They Live with Roddy Piper in it. AND then I watch this match and the difference between the two Roddy Pipers is great hahah. Whati hated man he was.. Of it was in character but amazing."
