[7.0] "If you want some fun and buffoonery for a crowd reaction, this match delivered in spades. Whether it's genuine annoyance, go away heat or anything else; QT does a great job as a heel that people actually dislike, therefore he has that valuable commodity of being able to create a babyface in any opponent he faces. The industry needs more wrestlers with that ability, especially in this day and age. This turned out to be a lot of fun and ended up being one of my favourite matches on the card."

A lot of shenanigans from both sides to get good reactions from the crowd, the work was solid too and had some believable near falls. **3/4"

It's nice Jay Lethal is back in the only gimmick that ever made him interesting and I guess it's nice that QT tried to also be interesting in the same fashion. Usual match from everyone involved here ending with the Jarrett family stuff. Which I'm usually OK with but again didn't need to be on this show. This was a preshow match at best like QT's previous effort. I don't understand who he is for. He's completely competent in ring, cool. But he's about as interesting as a colonoscopy."

[8.0] "[3.75*] This rating is INSANE. This match was SO, SO, SO better than Shibata vs Tommy that I do not have words to describe how better it was. Well, the crowd was 500% more engaged to it and it got much bigger reactions. I watched the whole show with my friends and this shit was a MOTN Contender to say the least. Incredibly funny stuff with Lethal returning the Black Machismo gimmick and both of them doing a battle of Savages, literally. The nearfalls were so over the top and exaggerated that if it was, you know, a serious Dynamite match or something I would have hated it, but giving the fact that they were just for the vibes with this crazy performance, run-ins and stuff like that, this was the perfect comedy overbooking. QT is on a fucking roll if we are being honest."

[4.0] "Jay Lethal vs. QT Marshall at ROH Final Battle 2024 was a disappointing 4/10 match, with Lethal's charisma and crowd connection as its only highlights. The audience stayed engaged with Lethal's signature spots and attempts to elevate the bout, but QT Marshall's generic heel work and sluggish pacing dragged the match down. The lack of compelling stakes or meaningful storytelling made it feel inconsequential, and the flat, uninspired finish left little to remember. Despite Lethal's efforts, the match fell short of Final Battle standards."

[8.0] "This match was great, probably the best match of the night, definitely the most fun one... Jay Lethal came out as 'Black Machismo', his Randy Savage impersonator gimmick, and I was already popping really hard, because it was a very cool moment, and the entire thing was just incredible, QT Marshall repeated the successful formula of his great match against Big Boom AJ, but this time even better, because Lethal is a much more capable wrestler. Honestly from an entertainment point of view, this match delivered everything, the comedy skits worked out wonderfully, and I was really happy to see Jeff Jarrett appearing there, with a great pop from the ROH fans, anytime JJ appears is cool. I couldn't believe my eyes at the ending stretch, they were kicking out everything, and it was really well done, I think it had more elements than people realize, they were basically doing a parody (it's a comedy match) of every single ending stretch of a considered 'excellent' match nowadays, with the flips and the nearfalls. The crowd was on fire, and this was a hoot, one of the funniest ones of the entire year - {****}"

[2.0] "Are we just putting awful matches from guys with nothing interesting to contribute to wrestling anymore on PPVs out of pity these days? If I have to see either of these guys embarrass themselves doing cruiseliner comedian caliber impressions of better wrestlers ever again it'll be too soon. I don't care how many times Serpentico tweets QT Marshall deserves more respect. Maybe learn a lesson from QT being hated by AEW fans and too shit for WWE to hire. The guy doesn't have it and never will. And his presence on this card and in AEW make both actively worse through his every contribution."

[6.0] "I typically find both QT Marshall and Jay Lethal very boring to watch, but Lethal playing returning babyface (playing into Black Machismo) worked pretty well for me, and QT got better in his heel role following the excellent Jarrett interference. First half was rough and uninteresting and didn't do a good job of building the heat, but after Jarrett, they clicked into gear and wrestled a hell of a few minutes. Have to give them credit for winning me over as it went along, and I have a fond impression looking back."
