[7.0] "A fun title defense for Kojima. It started on the slow side but once it picked up and Jamal kicked into gear it got good"

[7.0] "Pretty good, a solid defence, but these two had a much better match in the Champion Carnival semi finals."

[7.0] "Jamal is certainly an interesting opponent for kojima, and I figured maybe since he was a monster foreign character that he'd maybe force kojima to get over his no selling tendencies but that didnt totally happen and it was a very equally fought match. Kojima targets jamals leg for a good portion of the match but jamal was able to comeback and pull off some really cool looking shit on kojima. I would have liked this to have more of a david goliath dynamic with a big comeback and win for kojima but it was a good match nonetheless. ***3/4"

[7.0] "I thought this was a very good match. Jamal was only months away from making is WWE return as Umaga, but before then he wrestled Satoshi Kojima for the Triple Crown Championship. Kojima was All Japan's top star and they needed him after the mass exodus that took place in 2000 when a bunch of talent left to form Pro Wrestling NOAH. It started out slow, but the match slowly built as time went on. Early on Jamal hit his leg against the ring post outside, and the early portion on the match was focused on Kojima trying to get Jamal to tap out in a submission hold. Later on Jamal hit Kojima with a powerbomb on the ramp way, and he took the bump onto some steel chairs. The last 5 minutes of the match was pretty fun, with both men hitting some big moves. I do have one problem though, two different times Jamal hit a big move, which was a pop up Samoan Drop and a Uranage, and both times Kojima just got up from them and basically no sold them by hitting his lariat almost immediately afterward. It was after that second one the Kojima won the match. The no selling from Kojima really bugged me here. That aside, this was very good and a good big match for Jamal to have not long before making his WWE return. ***3/4"
