This is not even half of what both men could really deliver and I saw way better TV performances from both than this. What I found really weird is that Chad Gable looked really off to me, like he was so unmotivated. I didn't see the same spark of other occasions here and he wrestled way more simple here against an opponent who could take him beyond his limits. The opposite happens with Dragon Lee, who entered this match so fired up and tried to do his best here, bumping and selling like a madman for Gable and showing a bit more of his true ability. It wouldn't be a WWE match if we don't have some interferences to keep the feud alive, but also killing any vibe this had. Aren't any other ways to tell a feud story without always relying on the interference resource? This match deserved a clean ending and I hope they can run it back again, this time with both men highly motivated (*** 1/4) |

Zu Anfang die Shenanigans mit der Kleidung des jeweils anderen, anschließend saubere Action, bei der beide ihre Trademarks unterbringen können. Mit Werbepause war es leider etwas kurz und das Screw Finish mit Reys Auftauchen ist für mich unschön in einem kompetitiven Match. Aber die Ansätze waren absolut da, gerne mehr von der Paarung. |

I can't remember the last time he had a singles win, not because it hasn't happened in quite a while, but because I habitually consume THC, therefore, I do not recollect of a Dragon Lee win in singles throughout recent memory. Yes, I was high while watching this one. Fun time! |

| 85 | 07.11.2024 | exzachly | 7.0 | When this match was announced, I thought that it could be a sleeper hit and a unique encounter, but Chad Gable and Dragon Lee blew my expectations out of the water and delivered one of the better TV matches on Raw this year. They werent given a ton of time, but I actually think this played into the matchs favor, with both guys busting out everything they had. Gable immediately suplexed Lee damn near on his head, before Lee gets the upper hand with a crossbody and this nasty looking knee strike. The commercial break didnt even kill the momentum for me, as right when they came back, Lee hit a double stomp out of the corner, before Gable through him back into the corner with a belly-to-belly suplex. This time, Lee is the one to hit Gable with a scary looking suplex and I began to wonder if anyone told them that they actually arent trying to kill one another. Gable connects with the hang glider DDT but Zelina Vega pushes his feet off the ropes as he made the pin and a brawl between Vega and Ivy Nile commences, a continuation from the battle royal earlier. Rey Mysterio comes out to try and get things under control, and thats enough of a distraction for Gable to allow Dragon Lee to hit Operation Dragon for the win. Crazy match with some good continuity. I suspect that since Lee wins here, Gable will win the inevitable blow off against Rey Mysterio, which I think is the right call. (***1/2) |
