[7.0] "An evenly distributed match, with Kevin Knight and Francesco Akira both being the young, excitable, and energetic partners to KUSHIDA and TJPs technical veterans. Immediately, that was how the match flowed, with Knight and Akira starting quick, before KUSHIDA and TJP slowing things down with some nice technical exchanges. Really though, this was all gas no brakes and there was very little down time, with Kevin Knight in particular continuing to steal the show with his athleticism. But there were a few nice threads running through the match, with Akira continuing to target KUSHIDA after KUSHIDA cost him his spot in Best of the Super Juniors, but seemed to have to keep getting bailed out by TJP. After all was said and done though, Akira & TJP were able to pin the champs, which probably doesnt bode well for them taking the tournament, but definitely sets them up for a future title shot. A very exciting and thrilling match in a tight fifteen minutes, giving us the first great match of the tournament so far. (***1/2)"
[6.0] "I really wanted to give this 7 and almost did. Some great moves, nice bits and bobs of drama etc.... first match of this tournament so far that actually felt like a proper Juniors match. If only there hadn't been constant burial of Red Shoes. He was letting them get away with murder here insofar as both teams (but especially United Empire) doing illegal double teams."
[7.0] "Very good energy from all four men, thought Akira & Knight really stood out here as the livewires. Not the best match in their history but another very good addition to their archives. Knight took a lot to put away which I appreciated as it made him look strong. ***3/4"
[7.0] "It was obvious that this would be good. And it was. A potential final and/or title match here. Catch 22 winning was the right choice and it is so good seeing TJP back. ***3/4"
[8.0] "Finally, a TRULY great match in thus Junior Tag League although it was obvious given the two teams. The technical work in the middle could have been skipped but overall they finally built a decent crescendo and executed good spots, only highlight of the show. ****1/4"
[8.0] "Absolutely cracking main event, Catch-22 and The Jetsetters are two of the best JR tag teams around this match was hard hitting, high flying, dynamic and heated, what more could you ask for in the circumstances. A cracking main event, it felt like the tournament really kicked into life with this match."
[7.0] "Going to be one of the best matches of the tournament, this was a good first showing for these teams. Slick sequences with double teams and near-falls are what define this division and this is an example of that being done well. Knight has grown a lot in this team, being able to be the legal man for the majority of the match without losing the flow of action. Not their best encounter, but a fun main event and the best match so far. ***1/2"
[7.0] "The right choice for main event, and absolutely the match of the night. This kept a decent pace, had some cool double team spots, particularly from Catch 2/2, and the final run in was really good. An early win against the champs sets a tone for Catch 2/2, and it was good to see Akira busting out the Japanese after the match as well."
[8.0] "You don't need to go for more than 15 minutes to do a great tag team match. Great fast paced action with captivating storytelling and precise teamwork. TJP and KUSHIDA know their craft, but tonight it was all about young guns Akira and Knight, who both did damn clean job and all this trash talking was both fun and on point with their characters. Smooth main event, love to see it. ****1/4"
[7.0] "This wasn't their best tag match together, but holy hell was it ever fun. Akira and Knight had a good opening sequence together, before TJP and Kushida had a skirmish. After that it was Akira/TJP dominating for the next part of the match until Knight/Kushida pulled out some nice double team offense. Knight/Kushida stayed in control. Once they lost it, it made for some really close calls and made for an exciting stretch before the finish, which was alright. Definitely the best match of the tournament so far."
[7.0] "I enjoy both these teams so I was looking forward to see what they could deliver, and they certainly did not disappoint here. Francesco Akira is just a joy to watch, he and Knight did brilliantly together especially, although all four men put on a very good performance. There were lots of exciting spots, some big offence from both teams and a really exciting closing stretch before Akira finally got the win over Kevin Knight with the 2 By 2. A really fun matchup which took the spot of match of the tournament over the first two nights."
