[5.0] "This is just my own two cents of course, but Ishii is pretty washed in 2024 and I just don't get much appeal from Luke Jacobs. Maybe with a more interesting opponent it could have been more but it just felt to me like it was Ishii doing his usual shtick about 30% of his peak and Jacobs doing a pale imitation of that same style. My feeling is the match only works if you are A. nostalgic for Ishii from when he was in his prime or B. invested in this generic British guy proving he can "hang" in this style. I was neither so it was just mediocre to me, like I've seen worse but it was just meh."
[7.0] "****1/2 great match, they are not even close to their first match, but they give a great match, very good chemistry, great intensity, very good sequences, although I did feel that they exaggerated the amount of no-selling and kick -outs that although it was expected to see fighting spirit in this fight, I felt that it was a lot, the ending was good but the whole sequence was not very to my liking"
[9.0] "Awesome hoss fight, I thought that the TKO ending was bit dull considering that these guys are more famouse for the Bombs rather than for their submissions but the rest was pretty amazing Strong Style. Probably their second best match together, it's incredible how many banger Ishii can pull out. ****1/2"
[5.0] "RevPro painted themselves into a corner having their soon-to-be top guy lose twice to a veteran slugger who couldn't even make it into the G1. There's nothing remotely surprising or unpredictable about a Tomohiro Ishii bout in 2024 and, sure enough, they hit each other really hard while running through the familiar checklist of fighting spirit no-sell spots and one counts. The end result was serviceable but also a bit tedious and it played out to a noticeably tepid response **1/2"
[9.0] "A very good match. Luke Jacobs wins in a unique way Against an opponent just like Tomohiro Ishii. Maybe, a new Star is Born here at Global Wars."
[7.0] "Yea bloody good strong style match that had a lot of satisfyingly heavy hitters and a well thought out ending but it just began to feel repetitive. There were two spots that just didn't need to be repeated. Luke Jacobs' no selling the German suplex and Tomohiro Ishii winning the striking exchange with a devastating elbow. On their own they're great spots but done twice in the same order in both second and third act of the match had me feeling like the match has looped back around. It's a shame because it took me out of the match for a while and it's not like the match was bad. It's a standard Ishii match for sure but Jacobs is one of those guys that Ishii just has such natural chemistry with. I'm beginning to feel that this isn't an issue I have with the wrestlers in particular but more so how RevPro decides to book their big main event matches. Still worth a watch, just could've been so much better"
[8.0] "A blistering and intense contest that completes the trilogy between these two, with Luke Jacobs finally able to conquer his Everest in Tomohiro Ishii. From their previous wars, this had all the makings of a potential classic. They began to tee off with counter attacks, displaying both mens power ability and aggression, before deciding to trade an endless supply of chops against one another than genuinely had me wincing at points. Jacobs was able to overpower Ishii through most of the match, constantly hitting impressive slams and a Death Valley Driver that nearly got the win. They trade some gnarly headbutts before Jacobs hits Ishii with a piledriver, but since Ishii obviously has no neck, it had little effect. The finishing stretch saw Jacobs become completely unhinged, with a flurry of headbutts, lariats, and another piledriver before locking in a rear naked choke for the win. Jacobs looked absolutely unapologetic and really solidified himself as champion. There might have been one too many kickout at one spots near the end, but it didnt detract too much from it, as Ishii is always able to sell it as fighting spirit and Jacobs was being portrayed as his equal in this contest. Ishii was a good first test and with the history between the two already built into the match, this delivered as promised. (****)"
[9.0] "Not as good as their Copper Box match in 2023, but still a really good match to send the people home happy. Luke's coronation in London was unlucky enough to come at a point where the audience were visibly flagging after the absolutely electric ZSJ/Hechicero match, and tonight's match coming after another excellent match by ZSJ and then Oku/RKJ meant the crowd felt like it was flagging once again. Still, I personally can't pass up a good match by the Stone Pitbull, and Ishii and Jacobs do work exceedingly well together."
[6.0] "Listen i love both of these guys but at the third time of seeing this match it was very predictable in its content and something I'm happy we probably wont see again. Id rated the copper box match a 10 and maybe the "series" should have ended there. Jacobs got his W which is great."
[8.0] "Not as good as their first encounter but still a great match. I felt there was another gear they could have moved up into and, given it was a main event, it was a shame it didn't quite get there. Jacobs has come a long way, he looked on Ishii's level here ****"
[7.0] "Never been an Ishii fan and watching him love in this match did nothing to convert me. The usual chop fest. Two or three really dangerous looking headbutts as well. Come on lads it's 2024! Was Stone Cold Steve Austin agenting this match or something?"
[7.0] "A match that was absolutely murdered by the poor crowd. Put this match in front of almost any other set of fans and I suspect I would have had a whole lot more enjoyment from it. I liked that Jacobs had to choke out Ishii as everything he has tried to pin him with in the past 3 matches did not work, that was a nice little touch."
[9.0] "An excellent match, not quite as good as their first match, but better then their second. It felt like a major match, and massive accomplishment for Jacobs to win, and appeared more confident. ****3/4"
[9.0] "Really fun hard hitting match , enjoyed the headbutts and strike exchanges . For me this is the second best match in the trilogy ( behind the first match) but was very good to see Luke get his big win for his second defence of his British heavyweight title"
