Mark Briscoe vs. The Butcher

[5.0] "This match was fine. There were a couple of good spots, but it's really hard to care for the Butcher when he's just an enhancement talent at this point."

[6.0] "ME SPOT OF MATCH: Briscos cannon ball through the top & middle rope was gnarly, I like how he didnt use the chair this time, he just went for it, much better in my view. 6.0, Butcher impressed, nothing youre going to need to go out of your way to see, but not offensive by any means."

[5.0] "A match that I question why it needed to happen. Mark is coming off of a successful title defense while Butcher never wins. I like both talents but this wasnt a match that helped either of them and the quietness of the crowd showcased that. Meanwhile Mark still is not really on the show that he is champion of."

[7.0] "Mark Briscoe's energy carrying Butcher into a reasonably entertaining match. Nothing earth-shattering though, hard hitting stuff and the usual spots one would expect from this."

[5.0] "How is the Butcher still under contract with the AEW and why was this match given nearly 10 minutes? That being said, there was nothing offence about this match. Quite hard hitting with some nicely worked moves but the finish was obviously never in doubt"

[5.0] "Nice little TV victory for Briscoe. The Butcher is solid in this role as a big ugly heel that has enough credibility to be in these matches. Mostly consisting of chops and strikes, this never got to the next level. I did like O'Reilly coming out to celebrate with Briscoe and that leading right into the next match. An effective way to save time on a 1-hour program. **3/4"

[6.0] "Good match. Pretty competitive. Good combinations and exchanges between these two competitors. Good "David v Goliath" type match."

[6.0] "Hard hitting and well paced, Butcher doesn't really shine as a singles act and further booking him as a singles competitor doesn't do anything to hide away his weaknesses as a wrestler. One must wonder why the ROH Champion keeps showing up on AEW instead of ROH...."
