Dempsey is the right guy to ground his opponent for the entire match and tease a high flying, spectacular comeback before taking him back down. Evans is the right guy to have the spectacular comeback. A little slow on the execution, but Evans has rarely been asked to do a match like this. He continues to be someone to buy stock in.

Dempsey is already armed with such fabulous detail work, noticeably aware of his game and role. Speaking of such, Evans fits a similar description, shining bright with flashy offence and a unique charm. This isn't a matchup that you'd necessarily expect to be natural, but they seem to click immediately, emphatically highlighting this as a matchup of immense potential. ***1/4

Und dann nehmen leider die Eingriffe und Ablenkungen zu, bis ein Eingriff völlig aus dem Nichts sogar das Match entscheidet. Buh!

It was an interesting clash of styles, Dempsey was able to keep Evans in check with his superior technical skills, but whenever Evans was able to break away his athleticism allowed him to take over. They each got a fall that played into their strengths. In the deciding round, a returning Tavion Heights attacked Evans and Dempsey took advantage for the win. Would like to see these two have a regular match at some point. 7/10

Why I found that cool is Je'Von Evans had to adjust and have more of a grounded style in this match to really get Charlie Dempsey off his feet. Je'Von Evans spot where he up over the corner of the ring to the outside was pretty sick. Tavion Heights made his return from Japan and helped Charlie Dempsey retain his WWE NXT Heritage Cup Championship. Now Je'Von Evans has a new rivalry on his hands, and this is gonna be exciting because I feel like he's soon gonna have some gold he can hold.

The typical match we usually see with the Heritage Cup but this was really enjoyable with some good action, Dempsey is perfect for this format.
