[3.0] "Not a very eventful AJPW show, but the Jan 3 show usually is one step below the Jan 2 show in importance. Sad that they didn't let YASSHI fight Nakajima in a better match, but maybe they'll meet again at a later stage to make up for it. Otherwise it was fun to see AJPW juniors mix it with NJPW's stable of light heavyweights in that battle royal. Masa Fuchi -vs- Kikutaro [1/4*], AHII -vs- Tobandjar [1/4*], D-Lo Brown & Bull Buchanan & TARU -vs- Nobutaka Araya & Ryuji Hijikata & Nobukazu Hirai & Akira Raijin [1/2*], 14-Man Junior Heavyweight Battle Royal [* 1/2], Katsuhiko Nakajima -vs- "brother" YASSHI [3/4*], Satoshi Kojima & Taiyo Kea & Taka Michinoku -vs- Minoru Suzuki & NOSAWA Rongai & MAZADA [* 1/2], Kohei Suwama & Shuji Kondo & RO'Z -vs- Keiji Muto & Kensuke Sasaki & Kaz Hayashi [**] Action packed, sure. But it didn't go anywhere. Just standard wrestling that these always deliver. The most interesting happening was Sasaki clashing with big RO'Z which might be an interesting match if it happens. Not great or anything, but watching Sasaki whip the shit out of big guys is something I find quite enjoyable. Other then that there was a little junior heavyweight action between Kondo and Hayashi, but even more in focus was Hayashi fighting Suwama for the first time since their Voodoo Rope match on Dec 15 where Hayashi upset the heavyweight heel, so this was the revenge with the rope coming in use hanging Hayashi over the ropes and squash him with the Last Ride."
