[9.0] "The event has its ups and downs, but it's entertaining. Kane vs. Dean is a bad match, Cena vs. Ryback is decent. The Intercontinental Championship match and the Divas Championship match are good openners, the World Championship and Tag Team Championship matches are very good, Punk vs. Jericho amazing. A very good PPV overall."

[9.0] "Ambrose Vs Kane is whatever and Cena Vs Ryback three stages of hell was decent enough, but the WWE IC Title triple threat, AJ Lee Vs Kaitlyn and the WWE Tag Team Title match are all good, Dolph Vs Del Rio is real fantastic and Punk Vs Jericho is spectacular. Overall WWE Payback is a fantastic show."

[7.0] "A pretty damn good card from start to finish with the only real dud in my opinion being Kane vs. Ambrose and match of the night being the Intercontinental Title triple threat won by Axel in a great feel good moment on Fathers Day. Orton/Bryan vs. The Shield was a decent match CM Punk/Jericho was very solid with the Chicago crowd very invested. The woman's match was ok and Ziggler/Del Rio was an awesome double turn after a solid match with Dolph selling his ass off and Alberto being ruthless in his attempt at the title. The main event was better than anticipated and I really don't mind Cena going over here. Solid 3.5 star show."

[9.0] "Pros: - CM Punk vs Chris Jericho (match of the night and return of CM Punk in his hometown, Chicago); - The Shield vs Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton (The Shield is still dominant); - Alberto Del Rio vs Dolph Ziggler (double turn during the match); - AJ Lee vs Kaitlyn; - triple thread match for Intercontinental Championship (symbolic victory for Curtis Axel); Cons: - Dean Ambrose defeated Kane only by count out (cheap finish); - John Cena buries his opponent and hogs the spotlight once again; In conclusion, Payback 2013 was a great show which can be recommended to every wrestling fan."

[8.0] "Fun show from WWE here. With the exception of the Ambrose/Kane match, I enjoyed each match on the show in some capacity. The fact that they had The Shield lose on the Smackdown prior to this rather than just having the same match on this show was highly questionable, but the tag title match proved to be fun. Opener was pretty solid with a creative finish. AJ and Kaitlyn had an enjoyable match. ADR/Ziggler was rather unique. Punk/Jericho have had better matches, but this one was still good. Main Event could have been better and resulted in the further burial of Ryback but the match was at least solid for what it was. Would say it was more fun than almost any WWE PPV I have seen after Summerslam 2013 (with the exception of WMXXX. )"

As for the matches, the show-stealer definitely was Punk vs. Jericho. The Triple Threat and 3 Stages Of Hell were nice too (okay, it could be said that Triple Threat was awesome). The crowd was goddamn electric. Well, Chicago... Overall, that was a great PPV."
