I would go as far and say it's one of the best all-round shows that year that didn't have epic match to top it off. They were there to work and the crowd was hyped. Lot's of cool happenings spread out with a product that's finally moving in the right direction. Just about everything was in the ** 1/4 to ** 1/2 range. Tomohiro Ishii -vs- Naofumi Yamamoto [** 1/2] Man, I wish this match had been longer! They were just hating each other! Stiff strikes and headbutts where Ishii ended up bleeding from the skull as he was heading Yamamoto down! Tiger Mask (c) -vs- Milano Collection AT - (NWA Junior Title) [** 1/4] So finally AT gets a shot at Tiger Mask one-on-one with the NWA Junior Heavyweight belt on the line. And it really was his match locking the champ in all these stylistic holds taunting and hurting him. It was almost a complete dominance. Masahiro Chono & Shinsuke Nakamura -vs- Hiroshi Tanahashi & Koji Kanemoto - (G-1 Tag League - Final) [** 1/2] First off - a shocker. Chono looked.... good! Even his Shining Yakuza Kick looked like it could hurt! On the face team it was Kanemoto who was the dominant. It's so weird watching a junior heavyweight get so much in on the heavier superstars. But it's a good storyline which is keeping Kanemoto interesting. The match was bubbling with solid action without the big bang. |
