[6.0] "Excluding undercard stuff, this was a thoroughly solid but still unremarkable show. Opening 6-man tag was insignificant but decent. **1/2. Arai vs Ichikawa was mildly entertaining comedy with limited wrestling. Not my thing. *. Mad Blankey vs Jimmyz 6-man tag had decent work from both teams and eventually became an alright spotfest. **3/4. Kid vs Eita was pretty good. It featured a lot of standard clean signature spots from Kid early on, with Eita bumping and selling with great quality. Eita's own high-flying offence was clean and flashy too, and his various counters were sweet. ***1/4 - ***1/2. The Triangle Gate match was good. The Mad Blankey team was made up of stars who all hit their signature stuff really well while also getting some cool tag spots. Team Veterans was just a bunch of mediocre wrestlers who sold decently and then got an okay-ish comeback. Some good fast-paced exchanges and near falls in the final 1/3rd. ***1/4. Gargano & Doi vs Shingo & Yamato was really good and MOTN. The 3 DG stars were all very strong with their signature speedy and impactful offence. Gargano was mostly good but had a few overly artificial-looking attacks, plus he was totally devoid of charisma, but he kept up with everyone. Great sprint pace and intensity for the final 1/4th. Typically overkill but still exhilarating. ***1/2. Fujii & Mochizuki vs Kanda & Susumu was pretty good. It started off pretty dull but developed into a decently exciting performance as all 4 guys started rapidly trading big moves. Susumu and Mochizuki were especially impressive with their stiff strike exchanges, and Kanda and Fujii did quite well to try match their intensity. Some creative spots and convincing near falls in the 2nd half as well. ***1/4. Cima vs Yoshino was good but not the high-quality match expected for a PPV main-event. They told the story of Yoshino targeting Cima's arm while Cima targeted Yoshino's back/mid-section. Both men had some really creative holds and set them up in very complex ways, but I was disappointed to see neither guy sell their respective injured body part at all consistently despite having many opportunities to do so in a meaningful way that would have contributed to an engaging overarching story. At least they both had really engaging targeting work, plus those more fast-paced and mindless 50/50 exchanges were still pretty exciting, but it was still always jarring to see that early targeting become so insignificant. Their individual big-bomb trades were good, but there wasn't an appropriate level of drama built-up for them by the time they came out, and there weren't too many twists with how the finish came about, with Cima simply countering top-rope Yoshino's top-rope Lightning Spiral into a top-rope Schwein then following up with a Meteora for the win, all in a logical but not very exciting manner. Some cool moments throughout, but nothing truly interesting or unique. ***1/4"
[8.0] "While this card did not feature any all-time classic matches, it had three great ones and three other very good ones. It was thoroughly enjoyable all the way through, and the strength and depth of the Dragon Gate roster is on full display."
[8.0] "Starke Show!
