[6.0] "As the big NJPW October 9 show didn't air complete in any format in Japan I had to get the TV version to see it. And it sure was a good one. Shiro Koshinaka & Togi Makabe -vs- Akebono & Takashi Iizuka [*] Little aired, but what was shown was gold! Watching Akebono do Koshinaka style hip attacks was awesome! Nuff said! Masahiro Chono & Shinsuke Nakamura -vs- Riki Choshu & Manabu Nakanishi [**] Nakamura's return after being abroad bulking up for the last 7 months. He is bigger and they showed that by him battling strength with powerhouse Nakanishi. Not that he showed too much in this match because it quickly became an old mans game with Choshu and Chono. They did establish Nakamura's new finisher which is basically an FU. Yoshihiro Takayama & Minoru Suzuki -vs- Yuji Nagata & Naofumi Yamamoto [***] How lovely! Yamamoto was the ultimate wippin' boy for the dangerous team of Takayama & Suzuki and he really took the beating like a marvel. Stiff slaps, knees, kicks and just plain humiliation! Hiroshi Tanahashi -vs- Hiroyoshi Tenzan - (IWGP Title) [***] Tenzan is on a roll since the G-1 tournament! After being very stale all year long he showed he still has some of the energy to pull off good matches during the G-1 tournament and he steps it up for his title shot. He was on fire controlling a lot of this like a mean bastard crushing Tana's throat over the guard rail and looking very happy about it. This in many ways became a battle of Anaconda Vices vs Dragon Sleepers."
