111.04.2025Smi-483.0This really isn't a particularly high-quality house show. The commentary by Gorilla Monsoon and Sean Mooney is indeed interesting, as they talk in a more companionable way instead of building up their own arcs of tension and controversy as is usual in other constellations. The always somewhat underrated Brian Blair kicks things off by taking on the awkwardly sweaty Iron Mike. Immediately afterwards, Koko B. Ware defeats an obviously stupid Lombardi in front of his parrot Franky. The following tag match is a little better on the curve, as the sheer athleticism of the participants makes for a relatively adequate match, even if the referee isn't quite up to scratch at the end. This is followed by an emotionless victory for the Blue Blazer, here still in his early days with a slightly cheap-looking outfit in keeping with the times. In the network broadcast, the match between Hogan and Bossman follows, who has to be Hogan's permanent victim in the last third of 1988. The match is significantly weaker than some others from this period. And even if the Bulldogs have to perform far below par here, their match against Demolition is the most decent of the event up to this point. Dino Bravo subsequently defeats Jim Duggan. Although the result is surprising, it is also a terribly weak match. The last match in the broadcast is also a total pipe-dream, because the Warrior not only gets to squash his opponent, he even attacks him like a heel before the match starts. In the end, you don't really miss anything if you haven't seen this house show. The tag match for the belts is okay, the rest is hardly worth mentioning.
209.11.2022benny5bellys6.0This show is up on the network. It is classic house show fare but worth a watch purely thanks to Monsoon and a commentator I don't actually know having just a lovely time on commentary talking about all sorts of stuff dependent on what comes in their head.
