[7.0] "This show gets a 7 due to the first 3 matches being a miss for me. The match quality picked up once JC Bailey vs. 2 Tuff Tony had their match. They started the train of good matches. The semifinals were good and the finals were amazing. If the first 3 quarter final matches were better, I would rate this show a 8-9."

[6.0] "This one's hard to rate. The first 3 matches are hit or miss, personally I wasn't a fan of them. JC/Tony was a banger. These 2 killed eachother. Plenty of nearfalls and a perfect example of a deathmatch. Runner-up was Kasai/Pondo, they also went pretty hard aswell. Sadly for me the rest of the show and the much anticipated JC/Kasai match was not so good but still had some allright moments. Great winner, allright show, decent production, overall solid show"

[9.0] "That poor Lobster, why Kasai why do that. Honestly it's alot less walk and brawl or spot fest then I thought it was going to be. We had entertaining matches back to back with promos after each one, it's nice to see what the wrestlers are think after every match."

[8.0] "First Masters of Pain is very much a classic IWA-EC show. I remember seeing this for the first time already when it came out in 2006. It made an impact with its creative stipulations and action packed short entertaining matches, also bringing in Jun Kasai from Japan raised the profile of the event. This tournament really has its own aura and it stands out from the rest. The venue is pretty good too. Pondo had chosen to make the MOP only 8 man tournament comprised of mostly well known better DM-guys, which worked extremely well. There was no boring first round matches with jobbers like you see in KOTDM many times. MOTN: JC Bailey vs. 2 Tuff Tony ***¼ - good effort and the finishing spot was "holy sh*t" -awesome and build well. They teased a superplex on a pile of chairs, but JC countered and suplexed Tony to the outside on to the bare floor. Kasai vs. Pondo **¾ great highspots and the electrified lighttubes made it a bit more special. Corporal Robinson vs. Drake Younger **½ was a very entertaining little match, Drake carried the match and sold like crazy."
