[6.0] "TNA was on a tear of bad shows that continued afterward and I think this one gets a bit overrated simply because nothing on it was godawful and the main event - genuinely a contender for best TNA match of all time - carries a lot of the show's weight. Roode vs Aries was a perfect match, which is not something you can say about 99% of what TNA put out. By contrast, the X-Division was a shell of its former self and the title tournament was lackluster, populated by guys who were a far cry from the athletes of its early days. Styles vs Daniels was pretty good, Joe vs Angle was phoned-in-yet-watchable, and the showlong absence of fat, boring, obnoxious Bubba Dudley was a pleasant surprise, but overall the undercard was just decent. Go the hell out of your way to watch that main event, though."

[7.0] "A solid event, with two really great matches from TNA's biggest stars. All the X division matches are decent as well, as is the Ultimate X match. This event never drags or feels slow, and is over in under 3 hours. Styles vs Daniels is an all-timer; the two were such a great combination in the ring."

[10.0] "All the X Division product was solid and fun enough, Kurt Vs joe is really great, Daniels Vs Styles last man standing is really incredible, both Aries Vs Roode and the story around Aries are really spectacular and the crowd was hot through the show. Overall TNA Destination X (2012) is such a phenomenal show and the best in company history."

[9.0] "One of the stronger TNA PPVs ever. The main event was fantastic as Aries in 2011-2012 was a must-see talent for them in this time. The Last Man Standing match is one of the best matches AJ and Daniels ever had with each other. Joe and Angle had a good match in their series with each other. Only real knocks for me are some of the X-Division stuff could have been a little stronger. Jigsaw should have won the opener in my opinion and I honestly would have put Sonjay over in the UX after the injury he sustained and to have him conquer his (at the time) title of ? best X-Division wrestler to never win the title. ? Nothing outright bad on the show and they had a great crowd for it."

[7.0] "This event is highly rated, so I wanted to find out why. We get decent opener where it seemed like the participants just hit their best moves. No real structure, but not bad. Leads to Kash vs Andrews. Second straight match that was OK and did little for me. Good moment for Andrews though. King vs Williams was also OK, bit slow for my liking. Third of the tournament matches was slightly above the previous ones. Cassanova and Dutt did pretty good. Ion and Cassanova had the worst of the qualifiers. Action wasn't bad, but the match was way to short to mean anything. I guess they had to protect the participants for later on. Angle vs Joe was a great wrestling match. While I never found it to be a wrestling clinic, it was enough from these two greats. Highly enjoyable match. Styles vs Daniels was a brutal match. It definitely lacked in the major vicious spots area, but there was no need. A great psychological battle with a fantastic finish. I found Ultimate X to be weaker than previous editions, as well as more recent matches. It was OK, but largely uneventful. Finish was clever, with almost zero reaction... I loved the main event. The story was there and they built on it perfectly, having Roode use his old tactics to try and win, and Aries being the resilient baby face. The reaction to his win was outstanding. Fantastic wrestling match, and a great way to close off a very solid show. While only three matches were worth the watch, this event flowed nicely and was consistent throughout, despite an average X-Division."

[9.0] "2012 has really been comeback year for TNA. After an relatively horrid 2010 and a decent 2011, they've made great strides in 2012, especially when it comes to the quality of their PPV's. This was probably one of the best shows TNA has put on in 2012. The X-Division was in the forefront as we saw a new X-Divison Champion & fresh faces. We also saw some other good matches with guys that had great chemistry. Lastly, of course, we saw a World Title Change as Austin Aries reached the top of the mountain. Very good show from TNA. Definitely worth checking out."

[9.0] "This was a really fun show. Despite the fact that the build up to the match absolutely sucked AJ and Daniels were able to deliver in the ring. Plus the main event was great. This show was the highlight for TNA in 2012."
