[6.0] "Three good matches with titles at stake and a rather forgettable tag match. I particularly liked Dusty Rhodes vs Tully Blanchard. Not much of note outside matches, but I don't know if the WWE Network version is complete. Incidentally, commentary on NWA shows is often bad in this era, and this was once again the case. In-ring quality: 3.75/5. Non-match angles and segments: 0/3. Bonus/Malus: none. Total: 5.75/10. Show seen on WWE Network."
[7.0] "Good show. Only 4 of the matches were televised and 3 were at least good. The opener was excellent, the main event was great and Dusty vs Blanchard was good. Russians vs Road Warriors, while by far the worst match on the show, was not even bad, just bang average. The commentary was dreadful and the number of random segments added nothing to the show, but I'm not taking that into consideration for the score. If you can tolerate screwy finishes, this is a solid hour of 80s wrestling featuring some fantastic workers and a very hot crowd"
[7.0] "This was actually a pretty good special for the World Championship Wrestling show. This was hyped for weeks and this paid off for me. Like others have pointed, of course the commentary wasn't great; but it never is when David Crockett is involved, he kinda sucked. Even the weakest match on this card was decent in my opinion, so this was a pretty fun affair all around. I will say that like all of the segments kinda sucked; the only one I wanted to see in a post-match interview teased with the Midnight Express was either cut or didn't make air. Overall, a solid show here, with some stuff of note going on; especially in the opener."
[7.0] "This was a pretty good special put on by the NWA showcasing their hot angles and wrestlers. The main event weas good, but the opening tag matches was the match of the night. A fun show to revisit every now and then."
[7.0] "The televised part of this show - which would serve as the model for the future NWA/WCW "Clash of the Champions" series of events - provided a really solid hour-plus of wrestling action of this era. We get a good title defense for Flair vs. Ron Garvin, a good entry in the Dusty-Tully feud, another quality chapter in the Midnight Express-Rock 'n' Roll Express rivalry, and a fun tag bout between the Road Warriors and Russians. Just good wrestling from this era in front of a white-hot crowd."
[10.0] "One of the best shows I've seen honestly, I have no clue what some of these low votes saw. Every match was high energy, every match was MEGA over with the crowd, this was hot stuff and a hell of a lot of great fights. Amazing stuff."
[6.0] "Tag match was good as expected, and MOTN. (***3/4) Koloff/LOD was fine, nothing special. Dusty/Tully centred on established story beats, and flowed well. ME was a good, stiff match, ruined by the stupidest and lamest of finishes. Commentary didn't much bother me. Overall a well-paced, solid event."
[2.0] "The commentary from Crockett has just ruined anything about this show for me, Schiavone tries his best to help but Crockett just over does it to the extreme."
[2.0] "Short show. Great tag match to open the show. Bit slow at times but was enjoyable throughout. RnR were way over the crowd and ME were very good heels. Interference from Cornette was expected and played a factor here. Russians vs the Road Warriors happened, but never really got me interested enough to give my fullest attention. Rhodes vs Blanchard was alright and it was clear that the two had chemistry, but this match was nothing more than average. Simply no fire to it and just seemed on the card for the sake of being on the card. The main event was going well, but was mostly Garvin as I hardly saw much effectiveness from Flair. The finish completely ruined the match and I can't give it a good enough rating. Very cheap ending to an otherwise average show. Honestly, only the opening match was worth the watch. I don't even see how the main event was rated 4. 25 but that's none of my business."
[2.0] "A relatively decent televised card for the time that failed to live up to its possible potential. Slow paced and unengaging drudgery outside of the opener which is worth a look. This show is also marred by some of the most incomprehensible and strange commentary ever heard thanks to the awful broadcast team of David Crockett and Tony Schiavone."
