[4.0] "Yeah, this show was not a great start, I would say. Between the poor quality of the cameras, the mess that was the main event, and just the low quality of the matches, I never would say that this company would rock the European wrestling scene the way that it did just a few years down the road. And the crowd, Jesus, they were insufferable. The high point was Scurll vs Sabre, really the only thing worth watching here. I hope that the next few shows are better."

[5.0] "So this was PROGRESS, at least at this early stage in its history, one event in- some moments of great wrestling, particularly during the Marty Scurll/Zack Sabre Jr contest, but in the main typified by not untypical indie-style pro wrestling, and a crowd determined to make themselves the stars of the show. The overall feeling is one of insignificance- there is no reason to believe that those involved saw this as anything more than just another new indie promotion, likely to last a handful of shows before disappearing without a trace- and there's nothing on this show that suggests anything more is likely (despite what actually did happen). That sense of this being throw-away is not helped by the unyielding attempts by all (commentator, announcer, fans and wrestlers) to get a laugh from one another- which is perhaps unsurprising given that the commentator, announcer and half owner, Jim Smallman, was a comedian by profession, and his co-owner, Jon Briley, was his manager. Given where this show is, it's all the more impressive that PROGRESS would go on to be the juggernaut it would later become."

[6.0] "A show that is probably a lot better with age, given that Scurll and Sabre are both megastars right now. This show had its high points, like the semifinals between the Leaders of New School, Ligero vs. Dar, and the final title match, but if I'm being honest, the crowd kinda took away from it. They didn't seem to be taking the show seriously at all, and at times that was a good thing (Colt Cabana) but at others it made everything feel less epic. That is certainly not what you want when crowning your first champion. Good overall show though, just not quite enough for the pure wrestling fan in me."

[6.0] "Solid first show for a promotion. All of the tournament matches are entertaining at the very least and as everyone else has pointed out ZSJ/Scurll was the stand-out. The BWC title match was a fun one but mostly interesting because a) the BWC seems to have completely disappeared from existence after being a pretty big deal for a while on the scene, and b) it features a young up-and-comer named Zack Gibson who is now, in 2018, quite possibly the best British wrestler not signed to a WWE UK contract. The tournament final was a bit wild and whacky, a four way elimination match where you must tag to enter the ring that starts with a brawl around the venue and features zero disqualifications despite plenty of rule-breaking and elimination rules which mean one (or even two) DQ's aren't going to ruin the crowning of a first ever champion just feels really TNA to me and kind of makes it all a bit daft - but whatever."

[7.0] "First ever show of Progress Wrestling wasn't great but wasn't bad. Opener between El Ligero and Noam Dar was acceptable, Dar had natural heat cuz he is a Scot. El Ligero's selling of the hurt leg was bad, but still for opener good in-ring action, ***1/4. Cruz vs Kennedy probably wasn't bad but it's following the match with the same schema. Kennedy's selling was better than Ligero's however the match was on the wrong place at the wrong time, ***. I don't want to rate Mason/Cabana match because of it was comedy wrestling with some "toilet humor". If you like comedy wrestling you'd probably like this one. Scurll vs Sabre Jr. was psychology masterpiece. Sabre knew that he is not that good in an areal fight so he taking him down and tortured him with his briliant technical wrestling. But that ending with a bridge roll up was so fucking cheap. How Sabre can be pinned by a fucking bridge roll up? That ending totally buried the story of the match. For the rest of the match and a place on the card, ****1/4. After a break there was a triple threat for some champions belt. Good moves fest but why this match on the card before the first ever PROGRESS Championship? **1/2. The main event of the evening was 26 minutes long and there was no minute that i felt bored. Scurll gets over af over the night, ***1/2. Good first show for new promotion. 6. 5/10"

[5.0] "Mediocre first show from Progress. Ligero vs Dar was fine. Dar was a great heel and very entertaining. Ligero had some alright high flying but spotty selling. ***. Kennedy vs Cruz was really fun because of the rampant crowd. Cruz was a good heel, getting heat nearly at Dar's level, but Kennedy was a typical 'big monster' wrestler. **1/4. Cabana vs Mason was very entertaining, but a total comedy match that overused its jokes and sadly felt much longer than it actually was. **. Scurll vs Sabre Jr. was MOTN. Lots of great striking, grappling, submission holds, and power moves the whole time. There wasn't much story, but the crowd was hot for everything and both wrestlers clearly put in a lot of effort. ***3/4. Allen vs Cooper vs Gibson had some cool spots and exchanges but nothing too special. A fine break before the finals though. **3/4. The Progress Title finals was really messy, being a typical multiple man match. The first 10 mins had a pretty dull brawl outside the ring, and then back inside the ring not much of note really happened. There wasn't much tension or interest until Mason and Ligero were eliminated. Only Scurll really stood out in this match, although I thought Cruz was an acceptable heel, and both did well as the final two in the match. Cruz getting the cheap win made sense, since then Progress could have a babyface chase the title, but I was still disappointed that Scurll, the better performer, wasn't the inaugural champion. **3/4."

The main event is more enjoyable live than watched on a tape, the final part has good action. Clearly not the best in Wrestling quality, the crowd loved it anyway."
