[8.0] "One of the more overrated PPV's in my opinion. I personally think even the main event is overrated purely in ring, it's genuinely quite clumsy in places, but there's no doubt the actual atmosphere around it is incredible and as a big Punk fan I was absolutely buzzing with the result. While the bad matches are kept short there's still a couple of them and one 8/10 match and one arguable 10/10 match doesn't make it one of the best shows of all time, there just needs to be more than that for me personally. I loved Christian winning the world title but didn't love the match or the finish. First ladder match was excellent but the second was a bit of a drag and I personally never loved the concept of multiple ladder matches on one night so this was never my favourite type of event regardless. Think it was always rated so highly partly down to the main event and partly down to WWE being so poor around this time that anything positive really that stood out, and there are certainly a lot of positives on this show."

"This show was incredible and easily one of the best WWE PPVs of the 2010s. Both Money in the Bank matches were fun, especially the one Daniel Bryan won--it felt like a real moment for him. The main event between CM Punk and John Cena absolutely lived up to the hype. The Chicago crowd was electric and made it feel even more special. Not every match was a hit (the Divas match felt rushed), but the highs were so high that it's easy to overlook the weaker parts. Definitely worth revisiting."

The two ladder matches did not disappoint and delivered in all corners, Orton Vs Christian was great and had an unexpected ending, and the main event was one of the best matches this company has ever seen. The Chicago crowd was on fire and really elevated this entire show, everything felt so alive and real."

[10.0] "Kelly Vs Brie and Big Show Vs Henry were both whatever, but the Raw MITB ladder match and Christian Vs Orton are both fantastic, the Smackdown MITB ladder is brilliant, John Cena Vs CM Punk is one of, if not, the best match ever and both it and everything else revolving around CM Punk are absolutely god tier and it has the best example of a crowd carrying a wrestling show with the Chicago crowd elevating the show to the highest of heights. Overall WWE Money In The Bank is a masterclass show, easily the best in WWE outside the likes of WWF WrestleMania 17 (2001) and both NXT TakeOver: New Orleans (2018) and NXT TakeOver: New York (2019) and up there as one of, if not, the best wrestling show of all time."

The second MITB match is worth watching for sure. If I were you, I'd watch that and the main event and call it a night. This ppv has no business being rated as high as it is considering most of what is on it. Almost the definition of a one match show."

[7.0] "This is a 3 match card (sorry, I will be giving Del Rio/El Patron ZERO credit for anything) that benefits from a rabid crowd, that sorry to burst your bubble, is not more hostile than ECW One Night Stand 06. That crowd spit on and wiped their asses with Cena's shirt then threw it back at him in ring, before the action even started. That crowd chanted "P****! " at Randy Orton the entire time he tried to escape his match with Kurt Angle. This Chicago crowd cheered on their local boy, a VERY hot CM Punk. This is a MASSIVE event in WWE history. But the quality of this show is very meh. "If Cena wins, we riot! "... Hmm... I think I saw a very similar sign to this before. I think, 2006? In New York? At a show I think was called ECW One Night Stand 06?"

The crowd were great during the show and especially the main event, they elevated the match. After the main event with Vince angry, calling for Alberto Del Rio to cash in and then Punk leaving through the crowd after blowing a kiss to Vince is peak WWE. Still spoken about to this day but yes, I would only rewatch the main event if I ever come back to this PPV, the other matches although not bad are nothing memorable"

Everything else ranges From Boring to average. But the main event I mean wow does it deliver and then some. An all timer match to cap off what was a decent show. All that matters is that main event delivered so for that it gets a 8/10"
SadDoro wrote on 01.04.2024:

Obviously check out CM Punk vs. John Cena if you somehow haven't already seen it, but Christian and Randy Orton also has a good match, as did the participants in the first Money in the Bank ladder match. The rest can be skipped unless you are a completionist."

[5.0] "This show is a one match card. Sorry, but it is. And I can't rate the show better than average as a one match card. That's why we can review individual matches. Cena vs. Punk is absolutely one of the greatest matches of all time. But the rest of the show doesn't reflect that. Orton vs. Christian is underwhelming, one MITB match is garbage, and the other is just average. It's really not at all impressive as a whole event until the final match. So essentially to me, Punk vs. Cena being as good as it is balances out the Alberto MITB ladder match being a dumpster fire, and everything else is right around average, so that's what this show gets from me."

[8.0] "The rating on this at the time of writing is a 9.51 which I think is a stretch but not totally out of the realm of possibility if I had liked the MITB matches a little more. The opener had some cool stuff but was stretched a bit thin at nearly 25 minutes, I might even prefer the latter one, but in any case I'd call both fairly enjoyable but not among the best MITB ladder matches ever or anything. Bryan was a great winner, Del Rio not so much. Henry/Show was a passable big man match and the post-match kicked off the Hall of Pain. Orton/Christian was enjoyable as ever from the two and I dig how the face/heel lines were somewhat blurred - Christian being over-the-top in accusing the whole place of being corrupt but not wrong that he deserved a rematch and he was objectively smart to goad Orton into a DQ, meanwhile Orton was the face but not exactly a loveable guy and was willing to bend the rules and go on a rampage after. Cool dynamics there and the crowd was totally behind Christian anyway. The main event speaks for itself really, a classic and a lightning-in-a-bottle moment."

Prince Osborne wrote on 27.07.2022:
[9.0] "The opener was another great MITB match even though it was a bit longer than usual with a well earned victory for Bryan. All eight men were great in the ring executing awesome spots especially Cara for taking that killer powerbomb. Kelly & Brie had a totally forgettable match as expected considering the Divas division treading under the waters during that time. Show & Henry had a solid clash of giants while the Raw MITB was really good with a nice choice of winner. Orton & Christian had another barn burning spectacle in their share of classics while the main event speaks for itself as an all-time exceptional moment & match of both men's careers. That was the standalone for this show being this popular but no disrespect to the undercard becoming one of the best shapeups to a flawless main event. MITB 2011 will always be remembered for this but also will be remembered for Bryan's start to the rise of stardom as well as another chapter written in the blazing saga between Orton & Christian."

[10.0] "What is there to say about MITB 2011? Either it or Mania X-7 is the best WWE show ever, and for my personal taste, it's this. If Mania X-7 is the extravagant blockbuster, this is the best fucking punk show you've ever been to, which is fitting since it's Punk's show. The final bout and the image of Punk escaping through the crowd with the title is the best sendoff to a show maybe ever, but the rest of the card doesn't slouch either. We get 2 sick ladder matches and the Daniel Bryan win in one is another statement of (at least temporary) change, while Christian vs. Orton is one of the smartest DQ end matches I've seen and give another historically underappreciated guy in Christian a big shine. WWE felt fucking cool in this moment, a feat they've deftly evaded since. But forever big props for this one."

[9.0] "One of the best ppv of all time. I remember this show for three reasons. 1) CM Punk Vs Cena which imo is the best WWE Championship match of all time and one of the best matches in WWE history. 2) Daniel Bryan 99% guaranteed to become a World Champion. 3) Christian screwing Randy Orton out of the World Heavyweight Championship by spitting at Orton's face. Plus I can never forget how CM Punk left the Company and Vince's anxious face as the show Came to a close. Amazing show and probably the best main roster show that I ever watched."
TigerDiver wrote on 03.11.2021:
[9.0] "A fantastic PPV, though not an all-timer people were making it out to be, in my opinion. Not all the matches were great, but no bad one either. The Diva's title and Henry/Show were the weaklings here. The two MITB ladder matches were fun like usual, albeit not all that great. The Big Gold Belt match saw another great Orton/Christian bout, this time with the added story of the brilliant DQ finish. And then the main event that completely blew away everything this PPV had to offer, and undoubtedly cemented this whole event as legendary. Punk and Cena put on one of the best matches of the 2010s, one of the best WWE Championship matches of all time, and the undisputed 2011 Match of the Year."
SmartForceOne wrote on 17.08.2021:
[10.0] "One of the best shows WWE has ever had, arguably the best that isn't one of the big four PPVs. Two good ladder matches, a fun Christian/Orton match and of course a classic main event that was the peak of one of the greatest storylines in wrestling history. Things would quickly go downhill from there, but for one night in Chicago, the WWE felt exciting again."

[8.0] "The SmackDown Money in the Bank is as great an opener as you can have 4. 25. Divas title is nothing. Henry vs Show is 2. 75. Nothing to call home about but a decent quick match for the big men. RAW Money in the Bank is 3. 5, nothing too special. Christian vs Orton is 3, solid match with decent stroytelling. The main event is why everybody watches though. Perhaps one of the best WWE matches in the last twenty years, John Cena vs CM Punk. The wrestling was great and the story line and telling was incredible. A must watch show for any wrestling fan all around."

WrestlingFanatic96 wrote on 18.07.2020:
[10.0] "Daniel Bryan has his first major success in the WWE by winning the Money in the Bank briefcase. Christian finally re-captures the World Heavyweight Championship. Mark Henry continues his domination. CM Punk walks out with the WWE Championship. Despite the stinker that was the Divas match, that doesn't affect my rating for this event as this was a solid event from top to bottom. Everything fell into place so perfectly, and it gave the WWE an event that should've been what WrestleMania 27 was. Unfortunately, the WWE would squander the Summer of Punk, would give Christian another short title run, but on the flip side we saw Mark Henry become world champion, followed by Daniel Bryan capturing the same title. However, that doesn't take away from this event which will go down as one of the best WWE events of all time, and in some regards, the most influential. Without this event, there is no Daniel Bryan that we grew to love, there is no "Hall of Pain", there is no "one more match", and CM Punk would still be stuck in the midcard doing nothing."

Obviously the main-event and the SD Money in the bank match were carrying the PPV, but considering this happened in one of the worst WWE periods the rest of the card did well, too. Thankfully the worst parts didn't get a lot of time."

It was sloppy, have so many botches I lost count and it was just boring of no-fan of Punk or Cena. I admit, the build for this match was phenomenal, the finale is stunningly awesome and the wrestlers themselves are great and deserve all the credits, as a WWE for its willingness to take such a risk, but the match itself was simply terrible in terms of technicality. Right now when you know the winner, this match is very hard to watch, especially when other Punk vs Cena matches exists."

SD MITB ladder match was one of the better matches of it kind with a great winner in Daniel Bryan (****1/4). KK vs Brie was like many divas matches of its era. Short and harmless. (*) Henry vs Big Show wasn't good but it continued Henry's rise to the top. Hall of Pain was a great gimmick. (**). Raw MITB was more spotty and predictable but still entertaining and just the right amount of action (****). Orton vs Christian added another chapter to their great rivalry. One of their weaker matches but with an ending that made sense and furthered the feud and Christian's character. (****). Finally the main event and not much that needs to be said. Its one of the greatest matches in WWE history. Punk and Cena gave arguably their best performances. The crowd was insane. The ending was perfect. (*****)."

Henry vs Show - 3/4. RAW's MITB was pretty good as well - ***3/4. Christian vs Randy Orton was a really good match, these two used to have such a great chemistry and in my opinion the ending made more than sense, most of times that would ruin the match for me but I loved it and the post match part when Orton snapped was awesome, really great stuff for a WHC match - ****. The main event between CM Punk vs John Cena was by far the best thing in a great PPV. These two had an amazing back and forth match with a great crowd, in-ring action, drama, psychology and the ending with Vince almost screwing up CM Punk like he did with Bret Hart due to him leaving with the title was a legendary moment in pro wrestling history and seeing Punk, one of my favorite wrestlers, being the winner in his hometown Chicago was just epic, can't put into words, what a legendary wrestling match - *****. CM punk took the WWE Univerze by storm with his astute delivery and on point and sometimes overblown promos. This is all about CM Punk and a little Cena and the rest of the cards were kind of blurry. Of course there were some cool matches such as the first MITB match (the second match was sloppy) and Christian v Orton, but just like every WWE PPV from 2010 onwards, it's all about the main event. The Match itself was sloppy but thanks to Punk's styles of wrestling its never get to the point of boredom because Punk and Daniel introduces japanese style wrestling to a wider audience, so it was cosindered pretty new by casuals and they treated it like a spectacle. Fusing with great story, you got yourself a pretty damn great PPV."

The undercard has plenty of good matches, highlighted by two of the better Ladder matches there have been in recent years, and I was surprised by how well the John Cena-CM Punk match held up. I hadn't seen it since I watched the PPV live and while I remembered loving it at the time, I thought it would lose a lot now I knew the result of the match and that it didn't really change anything in the long term. As it turns out, it's genuinely a fantastic bout; both guys dig deep into their movesets and pull out stuff you don't often see from them, I can still see why I found the near falls at the end so enthralling in 2011, and even though it's pretty sloppy in places, it kind of adds to the charm, making the match feel more rough and tense and spontaneous. Watching this show live was one of the most fun wrestling experiences I've had, but even five years later it has a lot to offer. It's a great, diverse card of wrestling."
