[3.0] "After a restart, Johnny B. Badd defeats Orndorff, who appears somewhat overwhelmed in the final moments. Anyone who surprisingly defeated the champions the week before isn't going to lose today to designated jobbers, as Bagwell & Scorpio plausibly demonstrate. In the Control Center for Halloween Havoc, the content of the upcoming PPV is already being presented in quite detailed form. This is something WCW won't be able to pull off in the last three years of its existence. Meanwhile, Rick Rude also holds his ground. Fun fact: at the WCW Amateur Challenge, there's a clip featuring a guy who calls himself Mr. Monopoly and wants to eliminate all the competitors. In tone and content, this strongly resembles the later Mr. McMahon gimmick. Obviously, the Nasties will do everything they can to ensure lightning doesn't strike twice. Sting wins disappointingly afterwards, and Sid is once again completely humorless. The Hollywood Blondes are thrilled about their reunion following Pillman's brief injury hiatus and win, prompting Col. Parker to immediately throw himself at Austin again. Foley takes Yoshi Kwan apart once more. In the end, there's a serviceable but not high-quality lumberjack match with a final victory for Vader. Few interesting developments make it into this episode; the Mainer segment feels perfunctory, the rest below average. And even as Havoc approaches, this show is clearly too long for so little substance."
[3.0] "This was a pretty weak follow-up to last week's show. The main event is fairly dull, and a significant downgrade from Vader and Steamboat's previous match. Nothing else on the show is worth watching at all, as even the fun sounding match-up between Sting and Bobby Eaton ends up being a disappointment. The crowd is very low energy throughout the night, which makes a very flat atmosphere that doesn't help matters at all. It's a lethargic and uninteresting show all around this week, and definitely not an episode that's worth spending time on unless you're especially keen to check out that main event."
