[4.0] "If there was a 4.5, I would've given it that, but adequate is in parenthesis next to 4, so I settled there because the event was adequate. The tag match that opened the show was the best match, which is a minor miracle considering the Bolsheviks were involved. Or maybe that's a bad sign? I don't know. Hogan v Bundy was okay until a ref bump in the middle slowed down any semblance of momentum. Jake Roberts vs an aging Sika was a match that happened, and the match to close the show out between Greg Valentine and Koko B. Ware was...fine, I guess. I don't know, even as a young kid, Koko did nothing for me; probably due to him being booked to lose constantly. He was a smaller wrestler but didn't quite work like a smaller wrestler. The card was fine, the promos and Hogan/Bundy post-match involving Andre were probably the most entertaining parts of the whole thing."

[4.0] "Poor SNME. The title matches were decent, but nothing more. The other two were downright bad. All the more so with Sika's racist gimmick and the use of the snake as regrettable as ever. Fortunately, there's this good angle with Andre and the roster to help Hogan, and Ventura and Gene Hokerlund's good work to sublimate the theatricality. In-ring quality: 2/5. Non-match angles and segments: 0.5/3. Bonus/Malus: - 0.75 for the use of the snake and Sika's racist gimmick. Total: 3.75/10. Show seen on WWE Network."

[6.0] "3 of the 4 matches I reviewed individually if you care to read them. I enjoyed the tag team match to open things up, Strike Force *needed* to look strong and they did! (6.75). Sika vs Jake Roberts can not be reviewed. I like to cheat though so, it's not the worst Sika match. The finish was lousy (4.25). Hulk Hogan vs King Kong Bundy is about as good as Hulk Hogan matches get, discounting vs Randy Savage and things like Royal Rumbles (5.25). The Andre the Giant choking down Hulk Hogan bit is CLASSIC and an iconic moment from my youth & will be a bonus point factored into the average. Greg Valentine vs Koko B Ware is a very well done squash (5). The average with the bonus point added is 5.56 rounded up. Nothing offensive and the Hogan/Andre encounter (and following interview with Heenan & Andre) was GREAT. Also, I'm on some new medication, so maybe I'm just in a good mood."

[5.0] "A pretty middling SNME to start off 1988. I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Bolsheviks were apart of my favourite match/part of the show with their 2/3 Falls against Strikeforce. Sika sucks and has a not good match with Jake Roberts here, but my least favourite was the WWF Title match. Andre The Giant stole the show here for me; he is great in his feud against Hogan and we're leading up to their big rematch."

[3.0] "I will echo manny fo my felow inmates in saying that this show was mostly nothing. But dose nothin=bad? (Yes yes it dose). The show starts with the tag belt match wich is much worst the the onse befor it as the not to exting team of tito and baybeface martel have to get somthing out of the anti american team (they did not) (3/10) Jake the snake vs sika is not much of a match. Good sika fell down the card fast. Not that long ago he was facing hogan and now he is doing the job in a sun 5 min match to jake (3/10). Bundy vs hogan was bunday vs hogan exept with the twist that no one cares cos ots just tgere to set up andre vs hogan (3/10). The valntine v koko match was ok (4/10) Over all this show was one of the worst snme not due to having anything to bad but just cos it was palin boring low 3 outa 10. Mvp was jake cos he cut some nice promos or whatever."

TigerDiver wrote on 27.09.2021:
[5.0] "Yeah, this is surely down there as some of the lower-tier SNMEs for sure. The tag title opener is the best thing on the show, and it was only decent at best. The Hogan/Andre setup was very well executed. But apart from those aforementioned stuff, there was nothing of note at all. Average stuff overall."

[8.0] "Overall, I like this event a lot. The opening match is enjoyable, Strike Force is definitely carrying the Bolsheviks but they do a great job, both in the ring and keeping the crowd fired up. Jake/Sika was a bit of nothing, but Hogan/Bundy was very solid, and the post match angle where Andre chokes Hogan out while tons of babyfaces come out and try to drag him off was fantastic. I really enjoyed the main event as well, Valentine is one of the best bludgeoners ever and Koko is very underrated as a fast paced and high flying wrestler. Fun commentary from Vince and Ventura as well, and some great Heenan promos."

I believe it's an acceptable event, more mentions to the Royal Rumble would have been better. The main event was not the right choice, another weak match."
