[5.0] "A pretty bad show summed up by Taz sounding equal parts bored and embarrassed he is still having to do ECW bollocks in 2010."

[4.0] "Better than expected in certain respects, though also as deeply embarrassing as you would expect in others. Scorpio vs Anderson and Richards vs Polaco were pretty enjoyable, the guys involved still being able to go at a high level, while RVD vs Sabu delivered the closest thing to a real ECW match on the card and Bill Alfonso's even Steven assistance for both of his guys was fun. At the other extreme (as it were), Dudleys vs Rotten and "Kahoneys" was the garbagest of garbage matches, and the subsequent Raven vs Dreamer match was no better due to Raven's obvious massive weight gain and physical debilitation. The opener would've been better without the dancing antics and the three-way was just there to get three guys on the card without any thought given to compatibility. Despite trying to sell the violence of ECW, there were endless stabs made at this being a feel-good event, leading blood enemies to hug each other, smile, and raise each others' hands in the silliest displays imaginable. Most of the problems with this card were based around circumstances outside of the wrestling. Various ECW alumni couldn't make the show and the lack was felt, especially in the cases where TNA decided to embarrassingly replace Blue Meanie with Blue Tilly and Lupus with Sam Shaw. Video interviews with other absent figures were superficial and only reminded the viewer of their absence, while talking head segments about Paul Heyman and Joey Styles really really really underscored their lack of participation. Having TNA roster members talking about ECW when most of them clearly had no idea what they were talking about was ridiculous. The alternate names were silly and inability to say "ECW" at all was laughable, especially the weird ways people tried to refer to the promotion. Commentary flubbed the alternative names for the people and company more than once. Finally, though I hate to have to mention it, Jeremy Borash and SoCal Val were implied to be dragged away and raped by the Gangstas. Whyyyyyy."

[6.0] "I saw a lot of the negative reviews for this show back after it aired, and it had a lot working against it from the start. There was little build going into the PPV with only two matches announced (one to be changed due to Jerry Lynn's injury) before it aired. And it came at a point where TNA was struggling with its own identity and could ill afford to spend time trying to relive the past. I do get the idea of wanting to do it at this point: while ECW already had its sendoff in WWE's classic ECW One Night Stand '05, the 'E couldn't let it go and "resurrected" ECW as a third brand, ultimately bearing little resemblance to its namesake. I could see wanting to do it right one last time. But although the end result couldn't really be described as "doing it right, " taken in and of itself as a nostalgia show... I didn't think it was that bad. Some of the matches were decent-to-good, the best including RVD vs. Sabu, Raven vs. Dreamer and Scorpio vs. Anderson. I liked the backstage segment with Al Snow making light of them not being able to use ECW trademarks. Some stuff didn't work - I didn't like the breaking-of-character after the tag street fight, some of the matches were just random pairings, a few of the guys just couldn't go anymore, for their final match Dreamer should have won, and as mentioned, it's really not what TNA should have been focused on at the time. But considered on its own, while this wasn't One Night Stand, it wasn't Heroes of Wrestling either."

[2.0] "I wasn't really looking forward to this show but I bought it anyway since my friends and I enjoyed ECW so much. This was worse than I expected. We had three matches that turned into comedy bouts. The two matches I was actually looking forward to ended up being duds. There's no reason to go back and see this."
