| 1 | 24.08.2018 | Paul Allain | 3.0 | In many ways, this show is a disaster. The opener, which could have been worthwhile, was interrupted by the newly reformed 911 Inc. , which wouldpollute the entire show. Two passable undercard tag matches followed, and then Jake Manning would win the FIP Heritage Title, a very wise decision that is one of the few smart decisions of the night. The midcard is fairly boring, with an atrocious pairing in Caleb/Craig, and an honest performance of champion Jon Moxley against obvious lame duck challenger Bruce Santee. The high point of the night is the long overdue title victory of The Dark City Fight Club, simultaneously putting them in position to officially lead the tag team division, as well as officially breaking up The British Lions, resoluting their prolonged dragging storyline and placing them on their respective paths. The main event, the third and final edition of the famed Cage Of Pain match, has to be the most anticlimactic match in FIP's history, as the nearly 4 year Strong/Stevens blood feud concludes, in their last match ever, by a double countout inside the cage, an unconclusive draw. Even more egregious, they end up fending post-match interference and shaking hands, completely no-selling the biggest feud FIP has ever created. Such mind-boggling stupidity really proves how, if not for a few welcome title switches, Cage Of Pain III would be easily considered the most idiotically damaging show in FIP history, very much leading the way in completely eroding their fan base and pushing them into dormance in one year's time. |
