Also weird to think we live in an era where Luke Harper/Brodie Lee tagged with Akebono, just felt like a pairing so bizarre you'd never see it. Lots of time wasting in all of the matches, a bit like a house show if anything. The last two matches, well at least the main event, didn't need to go as long as it did even if the final few minutes of both became very good. I'd struggle to recommend anything but the Jacobs Moxley match and I doubt I'll have the energy to sit through a DGUSA show again. |

| 3 | 18.09.2021 | arrancar | 6.0 | Another 'dip' of a show for DGUSA, but not without featuring a truly great main-event. The 4-way opener was a bit short but good enough. Ricochet was finally back in his natural habitat: showing off his impressively clean acrobatics. Everyone else did well too (except for Gargano, whose offence was lacking a bit). A few overly choreographed spots, but many good ones too. ***. Swann vs Homicide was pretty weak, Swann's high-flying was alright, and Homicide's brawling was fine. Their chemistry wasn't the best, though. Swann's babyface selling also felt quite wimpy and hollow. **1/4. Aries vs Yoshino was fun, featuring a lot of interesting grappling exchanges and some exciting 50/50 trades. Aries' focus on Yoshino's leg was very convincing. Yoshino naturally no-sold the work whenever Aries laid off the leg, which was a shame, but he was very good otherwise. Some impactful signature moves in the second half. ***1/4. Jacobs vs Moxley had Moxley back in his element of boring western brawls. **3/4. Akebono & Brodie vs Amasis & Ophidian was a complete waste of time. NR. Tozawa & Yamato vs Cima & Horiguchi was pretty good. Horiguchi was a fine babyface in peril, relying on Cima to give their team a real chance of winning. While Tozawa differed from Horiguchi by being a more credible performer for his own team, he still had to rely on Yamato as the true enforcer whenever he was on the receiving end of Cima and Horiguchi's effective tag work. Both teams showed good tag chemistry in the second half. Yamato was especially impressive whenever he was in the ring. ***1/4. Hulk vs Shingo saved this show from being mostly mediocre. This was a notch below their 2008 and 2010 Kobe World matches, but those are my number 1 and 2 favourite DG matches ever, so that's no knock on them, with this match still being thoroughly great. The timing, impact, and respective heel and babyface character was all awesome here. Shingo was a wonderful bully, and Hulk, despite having some awesome offence of his own, really stood out when on defence, putting all of Shingo's offence over big time with his crazy bumps and compelling selling. This was a truly hard-fought battle, with the final 5 minutes featuring heaps of great near falls and hype moments. It's really the only match on this show actively worth seeking out. **** |

| 5 | 06.11.2012 | Eddie | 8.0 | Der Eight Way Fray ist das gewohnte Spotfest, das einfach tierischen Spaß macht. Kaum bis keine Up-Fucks. Das passt, 7/10. Der Opener der Main Show ist simpel awesome. Klar nicht so gut wie der bei Enter The Dragon, aber immer noch richtig gut, 8/10. Leider hat niemand dem guten Swann gesagt, dass man Homicide besser nicht aufregen sollte. Schöne kleine Story, die dadurch aufgebaut wird. Finish ist auch klasse, hat mir gefallen, 6/10. Yoshino und Aries beginnen gut, und so wie erwartet. Es ist nichts schlechtes dabei, viel Bodypartwork, aber einfach zu lange, für das was überhaupt passiert, Finish schafft dann den Spannungsbogen auch nicht zu halten, 6/10. Zu Moxley vs. Jacobs mehr im Guide, 8/10. Akebono und Lee, was für ein Team. Das Match vom Wrestling-Aspekt her großer Käse, dafür größtes Comedy-Gold, sehr stark, 7/10. Das folgende Tag Match 7/10, mehr im Guide. Main Event danach auch gut, aber am Ende finden sie den Absprung nicht, 7/10. Insgesamt eine wieder gute Show, bei der es kaum etwas zu meckern gibt. Klasse Verteilung und gute Kämpfe, 8 Punkte. |
| 6 | 08.06.2012 | sign squad | 6.0 | PPV Opener Four Way fand ich super mit jeder Menge Überlegung in den Spots und nicht nur wildes Chaos (**3/4). Swann vs Homicide gefiehl mir bis zum Cutter und Kick Out von Swann. Alles was danach kam war in meinen Augen komplett Nutzlos und hat beiden den Zuschauerzuspruch gekostet (**). Yoshino vs. Ares kann in meinen augen unglaublich wenig. Keine Dramatik, keine Spannung, keine Heat, unsäglich langweilig (**1/4). Moxley vs. Jacobs leidet unter der ebenfalls nicht vorhandenen Heat und einer recht bescheidenen Kameraführung. Viel Blut, guter Brawl, aber mir persönlich fehlt hier weitgehend die Glaubwürdigkeit (***). Akebono & Lee vs. Portal war für den Zeitpunkt und diese Länge sehr unterhaltsam. Kamikaze vs. Warriors dann das erste Match, was tatsächlich an Dragon Gate erinnert (***1/4). Main Event war dann ebenfalls recht still vom Publikum her, dennoch durchaus überzeugend, wenn auch auch etwas zu lange (***1/4). |

Auch bei Homicide vs. Swann vermag der Funke nicht so wirklich überzuspringen (7/10). Aries präsentiert sich mit einer sehr überzeugenden Promo (+1) und anschließend mit einem fantastischen Match gegen Yoshino, auch wenn mir das Finish nicht wirklich gefallen hat (10/10). Jacobs und Moxley dann mit dem Kontrastprogramm zum technisch hochklassigen Wrestling; ein I Quit Match im klassichen Sinne: brutal, intensiv, aber auch hier ein nicht ganz so überzeugendes Finish (10/10). Danach gibt es ein bisschen Comedy, das geht nach zwei großen Matches durchaus in Ordnung, fällt aber weder positiv noch negativ aus dem Rahmen (o. W. ). Das anschließende Tag-Team-Match verspricht wiederum ein Feuerwerk, welches aber über weite Strecken ausbleibt; zu lange plätschert dieses Match einfach nur dahin (8/10). Auch der Main Event muss sich erst entwickeln, tut das aber sehr konsequent und hat in der Folge einiges an tollen Moves, hoher Intensität und Dramatik zu bieten (10/10). Gesamt: 9, 0. |

Viel solides, anschauliches Wrestling. Match des Abends war für mich der Main Event zwischen BxB Hulk und Shingo, der vor allem zum Ende hin wahrlich fesselte. |

Der Four Way im Opener war in Ordnung, aber trotz einigen krassen Spots nicht so gut wie der bei Enter The Dragon. Cide vs. Swann gefiel mir nicht. Ich bin zwar großer Homicide-Fan und es freut mich ihn wieder in den Indys zu sehen, doch Swann gefällt mir überhaupt nicht. Yoshino vs. Aries gefiel enttäuschte mich ebenfalls. Moxley gegen Jacobs war sehr brutal, aber auch gut, was mich überraschte. Portal gegen Akebono und Brodie war lustig, aber hätte ich nicht gebraucht. Statt Akebono hätte man lieber einen Japaner, der was kann einfliegen lassen sollen. KAMIKATE USA gegen WARRIORS International war stark und auch der Main Event war nicht schlecht, doch die vielen Big Moves am Ende störten mich wieder. |
