[7.0] "Another solid ppv from TNA in 2005, which I think was their strongest year. There are a couple of not-so-great matches on this show, but they really aren't that bad. The AJ/Joe match is one of two times they met one-on-one in this time period, and it's one of the best matches either guy has ever had. The rest of it is all good stuff, with Christian and the x division holding down the undercard. He has a pretty good promo, as does Monty Brown and Bully Ray. I'd call this a good ppv for sure."

[5.0] "For six or seven points, I find there to be too much nonsense or at least average fare. The barbed wire match is not to my taste, Aries comes across as a solo entertainer, Kanyon as a chance encounter, and the 3- or 4-Live Kru has become a full-blown annoyance in every respect. And Bobby Heenan shouldn't have been dragged in front of the microphone anymore. The show only starts to grab me with Brown vs. Christian, dips again with the Dudleyz, but then delivers a real gem of entertaining wrestling. Jarrett remains Jarrett and Sting gets teased. Unfortunately, I can only give it five points overall."

[9.0] "Raven Vs Chris K, Team Canada Vs 4LK and Team 3D Vs AMW tables were all bad, but Aries and Bentley Vs Shelley and Strong, the basball brawl and Cage Vs Brown were all solid, Jarrett Vs Rhino is great, Abyss Vs Sabu barbed wire massacre is fantastic and Styles Vs Joe is a masterclass and the all time best singles match in TNA history. Overall TNA Turning Point (2005) is such a fantastic show."

"Worth watching for the INSANE Barbed Wire Massacre between Sabu and Abyss, and AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe, which had to be one of the best X-Division matches in TNA history!"

[6.0] "Solid openers, a wildly inconsistent middle, and a very good semi-main event before a main event that could've been just as good, but was dragged down by shenanigans. Blessedly, this was the last of the 3 Live Kru and the beginning of Christian Cage's PPV hot streak."

[6.0] "The sick opener and the X Division match between Joe and AJ were standouts in an otherwise lacklustre TNA PPV that followed the usual format and stylistic tropes of the early impact days. Not enough here to warrant a second viewing and the x division classic was very good but not mind blowing like I had hoped."

[7.0] "5 of the 8 matches were pretty decent with the X Division title match being one of the best of that or any year and that really carried the overall quality of the show. Also the epilogue of the title match saw the imminent debut of Sting which was really exciting at the time."

[8.0] "A surprisingly good show overall. Features a great match in Joe vs AJ for the X-Title, a good TNA PPV debut for Christian against Monty Brown, a violent opener in the barbed wire match between Sabu and Abyss (it never quite gets to the extremes of the infamous Sabu-Terry Funk barbed wire match, but that may not be a bad thing, and it certainly has no shortage of gore in and of itself), and a solid main event in Rhino vs. Jarrett. Elsewhere there's a decent X-Division tag in Bentley/Aries vs Shelley/Strong, a solid little match between Raven and Kanyon as part of the Raven-versus-authority storyline that was certainly better than the Raven-Credible match last month (really too bad they didn't keep Kanyon around for anything but this one match). Team 3D vs AMW in the elimination tables match was also decent, but maybe a little too one-sided in favor of 3D. The baseball-themed Diamonds in the Rough vs Sabin/Dutt/Torborg was also a surprisingly fun, action-and-comedy undercard match, and it was a joy to hear Bobby Heenan - even in his current condition - on commentary one last time and to get involved a little bit in the match (I believe it was indeed his last commentary turn; he would appear at least once more in a managerial role at the independent 6:05 The Reunion show the following March). Team Canada vs 4LK was the one real throwaway match, but wasn't offensive at all. A good way for TNA to close out 2005."

[10.0] "Definitely one of the best TNA shows I've seen, almost every match was good, none were bad and some were flat out great. Obviously AJ/Samoa Joe is an all timer, just incredible, but I think Christian/Brown is very underrated. The main event was way better than I expected and I thought it was really nice to see Kanyon even if it wouldn't really go anywhere sadly. Pop for the Bobby Heenan cameo and I even thought the baseball match was fun for what it was."

[5.0] "I am a bit gob smacked to see such universal praise and a high score for this show. The AJ Styles and Samoa Joe match was great, the first two matches were good and everything else stunk up the joint and I thought it was one of the weaker TNA PPVs of this period."

[7.0] "Good show. TNA closed the year well and the show in particular. I'm happy with. I'm looking forward to sting's debut. He's the one who's most likely to beat Jarrett. I'm glad I don't like Jeff.."

[7.0] "Gute TNA Show, die von der Card her sehr sehr stark aussieht. Der Opener war ordentlich und ist wohl das beste und härteste Match der beiden. Die beiden folgenden Matches waren nichts besonderes genausowenig wie die darauf folgenden beiden Tag Team Matches. Danach wurde die Show aber stark. Christian Cage gibt sein PPV Debut in einem Number 1 Contenders Match gegen Monty Brown. Das Match war zwar enttäuschend aber dennoch konnte Christian Cage einiges zeigen und am Ende den Sieg einfahren. Team 3D gegen AMW war okay, aber ein überraschend dominanter Sieg von Team 3D. Das Match hätte besser sein können, da beide wohl zu den absolut besten Tag Teams gehörten, doch so war es lediglich okay. Das MOTN war Joe vs Styles. Nachdem Joe so stark und dominant aufgebaut wurde und Styles das absolute Face der X Division war, war dieses das ultimative Aufeinandertreffen, auf das ewig hingearbeitet wurde und das wir noch oft sehen sollten. Doch es hat absolut abgeliefert und ist bis heute eines der besten TNA Matches überhaupt. Am Ende gewinnt Joe das Match und wir weiterhin absolut dominant gebookt nach einem wirklich sehr starken Match. Der ME war überraschend gut, aber auch nicht überragend. Eigentlich hätte wieder das X Division Match die Show beenden müssen, aber dennoch ist es insgesamt ein guter PPV mit wirklich guten Matches vor allem in der unteren Hälfte der Card."

[8.0] "Der Opener war für mich sehr sehr krass. Sowas bei TNA zu sehen war schon sehr nice damals. Sehr viele Spots, die beim Zuschauen schon weh getan haben, unglaubliche Dramatik und ein dauerndes Staunen, obwohl man bei dem Stacheldraht lieber wegschauen wollte. Mich hat es sehr krass vom Stuhl gerissen. Besonders die Schlussphase war krass, als die Stacheldrahtbretter ins Spiel kamen. Beim Endspot dachte ich, dass Abyss nicht wirklich den Spot auf sich nimmt, aber so kam es - Respekt! Hätte ich mich persönlich keineswegs getraut. Sehr krasses Match, das den Namen "Massacre" mehr als verdient hat (****). Tag Team Match danach war auch gut mit einigen netten Teamaktionen, nem ordentlichen Aufbau und Aries' Klasse an sich (***). Chris Kanyon vs. Raven war enttäuschend (**). Das 8 Man TT Match war an sich grenzwertig okay, das Finish ruiniert es dann (* 1/2). Dennoch war der Split die richtige Entscheidung gewesen und R-Truths Mimik darauf war unbeschreiblich geil. Das "Basebrawl Match" war ordentlich mit gut gebooktem Ende (** 3/4). Christian vs. Brown war solide mit ordentlicher Schlussphase. Gegen Anfang leider recht zäh (***). Das Tables Match war in Ordnung, psychologisch ziemlich gut (***). Joe vs. Styles lebt von der Psychologie, dem Selling und der Intensität und Verbissenheit. Sehr gutes Match (**** 1/2). Szene danach war dann noch gute Charakterarbeit. ME beginnt sehr schön, hatte einige sehr gute Spots, dennoch waren mir das gegen Ende hin zu viele Run-Ins. Die Matchstory mit dem Ref ist gut gelungen. Die Wrestler overtaken den Ref, warum nicht. Einige schöne Nearcounts/Nearfalls, insgesamt ein ziemlich gutes Match (*** 3/4). Die mysteriöse Szene rund um Sting danach gefiel mir ebenfalls sehr. Insgesamt kommt TNA Turning Point 2005 bei mir auf 7, 61 von 10 Punkten - "gut"."

[8.0] "Sehr starkes Turning Point. Brutaler Opener das hatte ECW Feeling (***1/2). Dann ein schönes Tag Team Match Roddy wird sicher nicht wieder zu TNA zurückkehren (***1/4). Chris K vs Raven war schwach (**) Hauptsächlich ging es hier um die Fehde von Larry vs Raven. Eight Man Tag Team Match schwaches Fehden Match und Langweilig (**). Six Man Tag Team Basebrawl Match ebenso ein schwaches Fehden Match. NWA World Heavyweight Title #1 Contendership Match das nächste Fehden Match besser aber nur solide (**1/4). Dann eins der stärksten Fehden Matches bei Turning Point 2005 und ein richtig gutes Tag Team Tables Match (***). Zu Co Main Event (****1/2) und Main Event (***3/4) mehr im Guide. Für 9 Punkte war mir das eine Spur zu wenig. Starker Anfang, schwache-solide Mitte und sehr starkes Ende, 8 starke Punkte."

[8.0] "The opening match was brutal, classic Sabu and Abyss fight with barbed wire and blood. Kanyon was another less interesting opponent for Raven (his feud with Larry Z. is boring). The 4 Live Kru split after the match with Team Canada, it's the beginning of the new Konnan attitude. Tolborg can't wrestle and eight minutes with the Diamonds in the Rough are too much for me. Cage vs Brown isn't a good match, 3D vs AMW is another classic tag team action, nothing can go wrong when 3D use the tables. Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles is one of the best matches in TNA. Jarrett vs Rhino a great brawl. The post-main event with Sting is acceptable, it would have been better with him there. The event has some letdowns but delivers something to remember."

[8.0] "Guter Opener mit einer Menge Hardcore. Barbed Wire Massacre trifft es ganz gut. Mehr ist im Mainstream Wrestling an Hardcore nicht drin. Das folgende Tag Team Match ist richtig stark was wenn man auf die Teilnehmer schaut nicht weiter verwunderlich ist. Es folgen nun drei ziemlich belanglose Matches, die man alle gepflegt vorspulen kann. Wobei man sagen muss Dale Toborg zeigt für einen Non-Wrestler eine wirklich passable Leistung. Cage holt danach erstaunlich viel aus dem Alphamale heraus und etabliert sich direkt im Titelgeschehen. Das Tables Tag Team Match ist o. k. aber auch kein wirklicher Brüller. Da hätte ich mir bei den Teilnhmern schon etwas mehr erwartet. Das bekommt man dann im nächsten Match. Styles und Joe zeigen einen Klassiker der X-Division und massakrieren sich aufs heftigste. Dieses Match hat alles was man braucht. Tempo, Action, Selling, Verbissenheit und jede Menge Spannung. Der Main Event ist dann nicht wirklich schlecht, aber auch verdammt weit weg von gut. Belangloses Gebrawle gepaart mit massivem Overbooking und einer vollkommen unglaubwürdigen Darstellung von Rhino. Kann man sich anschauen kann man aber auch lassen. Insgesamt trotzdem ein starker Jahresabschluss für TNA mit einem Match für die Ewigkeit."

[7.0] "Not TNA's best effort for 2005. The opener was quite enjoyable if you like those kinds of matches, Jarrett/Rhino had a fun match, and Joe/AJ had the best match I have seen them ever have with each other and is one of my favorite TNA matches of all time. The rest of the show does not have a lot to it. Seeing Kanyon on the show was pretty random. Christian/Monty was a passable match to get Christian a win. Still an enjoyable show."

[9.0] "Starke Show, Opener und #1 Contendersmatch, sowie der ME waren gut. Das TT-Match war ok, Highlight war natürlich das X-Division Match, welches kaum besser hätte sein können. Die Midcard war zwar schwach, die Ankündigung Stings dagegen interessant."

[8.0] "Opener ***, Aries & Bentley vs Strong & Shelley **1/2, Raven vs Chris K *1/4, EMT *, Basebrawl *1/2, Cage vs Brown ***1/4, Tables Match **3/4, Joe vs Styles ****1/2, ME ***1/2. 2 nette Matches zum Star , dann ein paar nicht so tolle Matches bevors mit Cag e vs Brown dann richtig gut wird. 4 gute bis sehr gute Matches , wobei besonders Joe vs Styles hier genannt werden sollte. Das Spektakeöl nach dem ME ist dann auch noch ganz nett und so sehen wir hier einen wirklich runden und guten PPV."

[8.0] "Abyss vs Sabu hat funktioniert, weil sehr viele Fans ein solches Match noch nie gesehen hatten. Beide haben recht gut zusammengearbeitet und was für mich interessant war, keine großen, unkalkulierten Risiken eingegangen (* * 1/4). Shelly & Strong vs Aries & Bentley war leider viel zu schnell vorbei und ein echtes gutes Match (* * 3/4). Raven - ich werde nie wieder ein Fan von ihm sein, zu langweilig finde ich ihn und so sehr hat mich sein Shootinterview mit dem Kritikpunkt an Cruiserweight Wrestlern geärgert. Raven ist leider keinen Deut besser und er hat nur einen Gesichtsausdruck. Kanyon schien in guter Verfassung (* 1/2). Das Eight-Men Tag Match fand ich belanglos (* *), ebenso das Six Men Tag Match (* *). Schön fand ich, dass Tenay sehr glücklich aussah als er wieder mit Heenan kommentierte. Beim Match Cage vs Brown stellte ich mir vorher die Frage: Wenn Cage motiviert ist, kann er dann beweisen das er mit einer Krücke wie Brown ein gutes Match arbeiten kann? Antwort: JA. Auch wenn nach gut der Hälfte wieder die TNA Realität einstetzte ein solides Match (* * 1/4). Das Tables Match war allenfalls Mittelmaß (* *). Dann das absolute Highlight was diese Show so gut machte: Styles und Joe bieten ein "perfektes" Match, welches ein knapper MOTY Kandidat ist (* * * * 3/4). Der Main Event lebte mal wieder vom Sports-Entertainment Style mir einigen Run-Ins und Ref-Bumps, war aber insgesamt wirklich gut in Szene gesetzt (* * *)"

[9.0] "Barbed Wire war wirklich ein übel krankes Massaker, das X Division Tag Team Match danach dafür wieder technisch starkes Wrestling, dann drei Lückenfüller in der Mitte, um wieder frische Luft tanken zu können für die gute bis sehr gute zweite Hälfte - super PPV mit geringen Abzügen (vor allem für Basebrawl und Overbooking der "Spitzenklasse" im Main Event), aber auch einem zusätzlichen Pluspunkt mit dem Scorpion-Cliffhanger am Ende..."

[8.0] "Der Opener war ein Paukenschlag, doch dann passierte lange nichts mehr! Da aber die letzten 2 Matches wieder stark waren, sind 8 Punkte noch vertretbar!"
