[5.0] "In November 2005 Hardcore Homecoming returned for its second and final major show (two prior house shows not withstanding). But while certainly not a terrible show, the card here was far weaker than the first Hardcore Homecoming (though the cage match and Dudleys vs Sabu & Funk were still quite good). And while the first Hardcore Homecoming - in conjunction with WWE's One Night Stand the previous June - had served as a fine sendoff for the ECW faithful, by this point the magic was gone; neither this event, nor the 2006 One Night Stand from WWE (nor certainly the "ECW brand"), nor TNA's 2010 ECW tribute, could quite fully recapture or express what made ECW great. In retrospect, it probably would have been best to leave ECW in that June weekend of 2005 with the first Hardcore Homecoming and first One Night Stand; by this point, it was time to move forward. (It should be noted that the Big Vision DVD release of this event does not include the Dudleys-Sabu/Funk match due the Dudleys' TNA contract at the time; however, that match currently is available to view on YouTube. )"
