[5.0] "As the final show before summerslam, it disappointed me because Raw was about 10x better than this for serving that purpose. They should have switched shows entirely really... None of the matches were great and the segments were a notch below what was on Raw this week.. With that said, this smackdown felt appropriate as a go-home show because there wasn't much wrestling. The RVD match was a fun to watch, and i enjoyed Tajiri again.. but outside of that this was basically just a hype show for Summerslam. I also got hyped for the "lights out" match but that ended up just being a regular no DQ match with really nothing special. The Rock selling the fuck out of the "book end" through the table was overdone to the extreme, with the Rock acting as if he's actually dying like how characters in horror movies die when getting tortured. That's the best I can explain it. Nothing on this show was good enough to want to re-watch. And again, it's making me sad here Austin start his "WHAT? " catch phrase, knowing how annoying the crowd will eventually be with it. edit: Edited to add that I am annoyed that smackdown seems to be using "beautiful people" as their intro music now for some reason."

[5.0] "This was a much weaker go-home show compared to the Raw go-home show but this was still solid. Austin pretending Scotty 2 Hotty was Kurt Angle was pretty funny. Booker T this week finally gains credibility against The Rock by laying him out twice."
