[6.0] "Solid enough episode. I really liked the X-Pac/Jeff vs. RVD & Kidman tag match, quick but extremely fun. Austin is not acting so wimpy anymore. Tajiri and Regal are hilarious. The Invasion is not as hot as it should be but still feels fairly hot as we close in on the PPV. DDP kidnaps another wife at the end, very stupid gimmick."

[6.0] "So leading up to the Invasion PPV, we have a more coherent angle and plots that make a little more sense than they did 2 weeks ago. Heyman seems like a real heel leader, WCW having the ECW crew behind them gives them a lot more strength, some of the other WCW guys getting involved in some feuds, and the wild card of WCW refs being bought, yeah this is starting to be much more entertaining... but the angle still has it's problems. Let me start with the main event today. Rhyno and Booker T vs Angle and Austin. Yes I agree both of these guys are the best guys from WCW and ECW to main event vs the top two guys from WWF. But that really shows the disparity here and why this angle was fucking stupid, especially considering they wanted to build this entire story in 4 weeks. Austin comes in and immediately stuns both of them. This makes sense in this current timeline, because frankly neither of the top two guys from either organization are on his level. They aren't on Angle's level either. They aren't on fucking Jericho's or Edge's level. What they should be doing is going up against ALBERT for the IC title instead. Gladly we didn't get any ALBERT on this episode, which I am not complaining about. In fact I'll add points here for that. But I'm getting side tracked here. Could the invasion angle have worked with the talent they had? Yeah maybe, maybe if they built up the characters and the feuds a little more. Maybe if they gave some time to let the WCW guys get their feet wet in WWF and get some real victories against "main event" guys like ALBERT who somehow still holds the IC belt. But really to get away from where I wished they would go post-WCW purchase, and more towards where we're actually at after cleaning up the mess of the original attempt, I'd give them some props. First off, the Edge Christian/Mike Awesome lance Storm feud is actually believable and the wrestling is good too. The two WCW guys are good heels and especially Storm has been impressive in the ring. I can see this having potential and unlike a lot of the WCW matches so far, this has not been boring. I also thought the little guy match was pretty good and gave a really cool moment where Kidman had Hardy in a hold and RVD jumped off the corner onto hardy. To think these three were all in different organizations not too long ago, and now they're on WWF fighting each other. Pretty neat. And, the match was fun to watch with a lot of great spots. DDP is still a stalker/creeper and Lance storm is the only guy from WCW who has been half decent on the mic. This whole thing feels so rushed and if they would have given this more time to brew up, it could have been very special. Instead, we have Stone Cold hitting Vince with a guitar and then killing the main event by stunning both opponents immediately for what ended up being a 1 minute match. I complained on this week's Raw that it made no sense to have Angle in a hardcore match with Rhyno, but I appreciate it now at least because the point here is that Rhyno needs to be viewed as a threat since the ECW/WCW faction doesn't have much going for it. Well, I did appreciate it until Rhyno got immediately knocked the fuck out as soon as Austin entered the ring. It seems like the biggest effect that the WCW purchase had on WWF was importing the ability to write shit stories and annoying angles. WWF have been on such a great streak since 97 and all of a sudden they forget how to write a story."

[6.0] "Everyone that was fighting on the WWF? s behalf pretty much won every single match heading into the PPV making ECW/WCW look bad. Heyman cut a great promo to open the show which is pretty much expected. Stone cold smacking Vince in the head was a guitar. The closing brawl was a good way to close the show and continue the hype for the upcoming PPV"
