[3.0] "This is the WWE in an interregnum between Ruthless Aggression/Attitude stars and the talent explosion of the mid-2010s. I think the only thing worth holding onto is the Rumble, which is typical because if nothing else they serve as time capsules."

[7.0] "A fun show with the last two matches of the night definitely being the highlights. The first few matches were ok and the storytelling of The Legacy's imminent breakup was well done, but the night really got going with Taker/Rey and the main event was the match of the night in my opinion. Edge seemed like the obvious winner as soon as he entered but the rumble was still very good from start to finish. 3 star card."

[6.0] "The show lives and dies on how much you enjoy the rumble given how hogwash every other match in the card ended up being, fortunately it was a really fun rumble with a great finish. Without the rumble it's easily a 4/10 show, but an 8/10 rumble balances that out to a 6/10 show."

[6.0] "The start of the show is really disappointing, with one decent match and two that border on the bad, as we expect better from a PPV. Worse still, the women's match is just a pretext for a misogynistic and grossophobic angle that gives a glimpse of the worst McMahon and his teams did - on screen. Fortunately, the match between Mysterio and the Taker saves the show and the Rumble match, while not sensational in its action, benefits from good writing and standout moments. Off-ring, and apart from the problematic passages, there were some good sequences that sowed the seeds of tension within Legacy and DX, and the surprise of Edge's return seemed to be equally enjoyable at the time. In-ring quality: 3.5/5. Angles and segments: 1.5/3. Bonus/Malus: Sexism and grossophobia -1. Total: 6/10. Show seen on the WWE Network."

[9.0] "Miz Vs MVP, Orton Vs Sheamus and James Vs McCool were all bad and Christian Vs Jackson was just decent at best, but Undertaker Vs Mysterio is good and the royal rumble was fantastic. Overall WWE Royal Rumble (2010) is a great show and it would be years before we get another royal rumble match or show that's truly considered great."

[6.0] "An enjoyable show all around. I don't have too much to point out because the nothing on this show was particularly great, but nothing suffered either. The whole card was a very enjoyable one as a total package, but there's little about it to highlight or earmark to say 'come back to this again later.' You can't go wrong with this if you want a Rumble event to throw on, or if you're trying to watch all of the Rumble PPV's, but there are also better than this too."

[6.0] "Pretty solid Rumble match overall; not too many surprises other than maybe Edge returning to win, but had a solid lineup and some good runs and memorable spots. If not a classic Rumble, it certainly wasn't a bad way to spend an hour. The undercard was very much a mixed bag - Taker vs Rey was a pretty solid big man vs. small man match that did a good job of portraying Rey's struggle against the odds; Christian vs Ezekiel Jackson was also pretty good and possibly Zeke's best WWE singles match. Miz vs MVP wasn't too bad either. On the other hand, Orton vs Sheamus seemed to drag too long to get to a slightly lame finish, and the "Piggy James" angle for the Women's Title match was absolutely horrible; at least LayCool got their comeuppance this time, which on one hand was the right outcome, but on the other hand still means the women only got twenty seconds of actual match time. That all said, "decent" is about the best descriptor of the event as a whole."

[7.0] "Christian vs Ezekiel Jackson was OK, not a bad match but the majority of the match was Christian just being worked over by Jackson, for him to then retain the title was the right move but was slightly strange considering the push Jackson's been given. The Miz vs MVP was mediocre at best, nothing really enough to invest me in it, Miz retained which again was the right move. Sheamus vs Randy Orton was bad, no two ways about it. The non-finish really hurt it and I don't think that is was Orton's fault. Sheamus retaining I have mixed feelings about, but it is what it is. Mickie James vs Michelle McCool was two short to really notice but was definitely the right call putting the title on James. The Undertaker vs Rey Mysterio was my second favourite match of the night, for someone who just came out of surgery Taker looked great and Rey certainly elevated the match with his signature style. The Royal Rumble was definitely match of the night, very good and Edge coming back was the ultimate feel good moment."
