[6.0] "This was a decent show, with nothing really bad on it aside from the 3 Live Krew match. Don't get me wrong, there are a couple of other low points as well, but overall the event was a worthwhile watch, with two truly great matches on it. It doesn't quite seem like the "super bowl" level event TNA wanted to present, it seems like every other pay per view they presented in 2005. Like a lot of TNA shows the good stuff is Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Chris Sabin, and Jeff Hardy. There's a decent promo from Jarrett and Monty Brown. Shane Douglas calls the NWA title the most prestigious title in the sport, which is kind of ironic considering his past with the title. James Mitchell also has a pretty good promo before the monster's ball match. That match is certainly wroth the watch as is the iron man match. A mostly satisfactory show to watch on a saturday morning."

[7.0] "The first Bound For Glory featured some really great matches, some pretty decent matches, one or two bad matches, and way too much outside interference. This show would be an 8 if all that changed was the removal of Gail Kim from the broadcast. Monster's Ball II, Monty Brown v Lance Hoyt, and Styles v Daniels II were the definite high points of the show, with the main event being the low point. I'd really have liked a longer, closer main event, and the last 15 minutes of the show really left a lingering bad taste in my mouth. Not by a longshot the greatest PPV ever, but for TNA's first Wrestlemania-esque event it was certainly nothing to scoff at. The whole thing is a Rhino showcase as well, which is appreciated; definite must-watch for his fans as it's one of his finest hours."

[6.0] "I actually think there was more positive than negative on this and I liked the show overall, but I also think some of the other pay per views that TNA put on in 2005 were better than this one. You could tell that they were trying to make Bound For Glory 2005 feel special, seeing as the event was supposed to be TNAs WrestleMania level event, and if theyd just calmed things down a bit and cut the Gauntlet then I think everything would have had a bit more time to breathe. They could have given Joe Vs Liger some more time and also let the two guys in the Main Event have more of an actual match before the gaga started. As it was, the show was flawed yet still rather fun, with the Iron Man match being a clear highlight. Joe/Liger was good but disappointing due to the abbreviated runtime, Ultimate X was going fine until the X went into business for itself, and the Tag Title match was really good, aside from the way it buried The Naturals. Monsters Ball wont be for everyone, but I was entertained by it. Overall the good managed to outweigh the bad and Ill give this one a mild recommendation as a result. With better pacing and better luck with some of the gimmicks (Ultimate X Im looking at YOU) this could have been a really great show though as they had all the pieces but they just couldnt put them together enough for the show to reach its full potential."

[6.0] "This had two great matches and a nice story of Rhino going through 3 matches on the night to win the title at the end, for TNA that is pretty good get out of jail card considering Nash could not make event."

[8.0] "Really great night of wrestling. Pretty much every match was fun. Monster's Ball and Iron Man both delivered, and Rhino winning the title was a great finale."

[6.0] "Not as strong a show as you'd hope for from TNA's "biggest of the year, " but this one does have some positives: another great Styles-Daniels match, a memorable Monster's Ball, and Rhino getting a good moment in winning the title after going through two previous matches (though the main event itself felt somewhat rushed). The undercard was a mixed bag - the Ultimate X was marred by "technical difficulties" as the X fell on its own and had to be rehung; Joe and the visiting Liger could have done more given more time, and the battle royal and the 3 Live Kru-Team Canada match was about what you'd expect. On the other hand, AMW-Naturals was fine, Monty Brown got a solid win over Hoyt, and Diamonds-Apolo/Siaki/Sharky was a decent trios bout, even if it didn't need to be on a PPV. An OK show if not the home run it needed to be."

[6.0] "It doesn't feel like a major event, I find it unbelievable to have the same wrestler winning three matches in the same night. Also, Jarrett vs Rhino was rushed, with a previous Battle Royale without a great focus. The Monsters Ball is the best match and the Iron Man match comes close. Tag team matches were a waste of time, Samoa Joe vs Liger was entertaining enough as an opener. Not really "Bound for Glory"."

[7.0] "Good show, although not TNA's best PPV effort for 2005. The Monster's Ball Match stole the show and AJ/Daniels had another very good match with each other. The pre-show match was genuinely one of the best matches of the show. Naturals/AMW did well although not their best with each other. It was cool to see Liger although he and Joe got shortchanged and disappointed. The Ultimate X getting messed up was disappointing. Cool to see the end result of the show although that reign would be very short lived."
