[6.0] "A solid but somewhat uneven card that gradually builds toward an excellent conclusion. The opening three matches provide a consistent foundation before a noticeable dip in the fourth, but the show recovers well and the main event delivers a significant surge in quality. The strong finish leaves a positive overall impression."
"The opening to the show is so bad. EVERY WEEK WITH THIS. Renee gets multiple segments before the first match, again. Multiple music cues confuse the live fans that were just whipped up to start everything. There is already a lackluster reveal of a mystery partner. It is just visual and audio diarrhea from the start. Take your meds and book an opening segment, please."
[9.0] "Nearly every week since Holiday Bash AEW has been able to make the next episode of Dynamite better than the last! I greatly appreciate TK showcasing Davis more and making a stamp for him in being a powerhouse enforcer and having him compete against Moxley to showcase Davis' talent is absolutely perfect. The 4-way was good and I am glad to see Mina having a far better showcase of her talents than when she competed on Collision a week and a half ago - here's hoping she begins to turn on her character by losing a match once again. The War Dogs vs Conglomeration was okay until Ishii appeared to be injured and then him just chugging along on that leg at the end of the match made it so much more impactful and got me hooked. I hope Ishii is okay. I do not care if people are tiored of this, but I am loving this Darby Allen vengence storyline against Kidd and the War Dogs that I hope it caps off with a David Finlay debut in AEW to be alongside his War Dog mates. The introduction of the Brawling Birds was fantastic and I love the British brawler feel that they bring and hope this adds another depth to the women's tag division. With the incoming of Iinspiration, now the brawling Birds, and you still have Megabad, and Babes of Wrath - this division is just gonna click so hard! The Beast Mortos - O...M...G! This guy is just pure beast. This possibly was the most engaging match for the crowd and then to go into that epic... EPIC, main event - my god Dynamite was just on fire this week! The crowd was so into this whole show that even though there was 3, 000 in attendance, compared to the 7, 500-8, 000 at Grand Slam - this crowd was just way hotter and hungrier for wrestling than the Aussies."
[6.0] "This was a good episode overall. In my opinion Marina ruined the TBS title match. Swerve turning heel was kinda unexpected. I loved the promos on this episode especially Adam Page's him bringing back Texas death match is great, can't wait for revolution. Overall pretty good build episode with nice quality matches."
[9.0] "Some extremely bizarre ratings for this show. Wasn't as good as last week but a show with an early MOTYC in the main event followed by a great angle and a big heel turn to end a night that had nothing bad on it, a great opener and a massive stipulation added to the Revolution main event is still a hell of a show especially when you consider the card was patched together due to talent still being in Australia and injuries. 9.5/10."
[6.0] "A bookend episode. Starts off strong with Mox knocking off Mark Davis. Then we get a solid 4-way match for the TBS title, unfortunately neither Megan Bayne nor Mina walked out with the title. I like the Dogs, and I think they could be a good team in the tag team title picture, but of course we have to bury them with Orange Cassidy. A couple of other matches, then a great main event between Swerve and Kenny that had me guessing the finish the entire match."
[7.0] "Pros: Main event super overdelivered / I loved seeing Mark Davis punch a ringpost so hard his hand bled? Then Mox worked it into the match? great stuff / FTR and MJF promos were good / MJF and Hangman seems like its going somewhere interesting / FINALLY a Swerve heel turn. Cons: Baffling house show-esque matches (Edit: I'm now aware this was due to injuries and sickness but my original point still stands) / Brawling Birds match should have been a squash / TBS should have went to Megan Bayne like holy shit Willow does not need 2 belts. I think everyone in the back knew that the main event was going to be so good that they didn't really have to try and... yeah it kinda was. Mox is the master of kayfabe though and will never NOT work. But that main event hoooooo boy Revolutions build is starting to get good. Back rake count: 0 . Eye poke count: 1. Main event and opener elevates this show greatly but tbh the rest of the show was pretty mid (especially for Dynamite)."
[7.0] "A completely alright TV show bolstered by an exceptional beginning and end matches. The Stokely promo was... actually fine and good at generating some heat, but it's a shame that it had to ride off the back of generic FTR promo #50231 and get cut off by a Bucks/FTR feud that I just can't buy into when Bucks were just (far more interesting) villains not that long ago. Also! (The replay of this segment on streaming cuts out the Stokely super kick, how crazy is that? ) MJF v. Page had the best promos here and while I don't know if I really think Page wins here, they did a great job of blurring reality/fiction and made this rivalry clear and interesting. MJF denying the Texas Death Match stipulation until Page promised to never challenge for the world title again was a great touch. I love every don Callis segment that involves murking random people because it usually results in Lance Archer carrying a limp body over his shoulder while other people cut promos, and that never fails to make me laugh. Conglomeration vs. Dogs is impacted by a injury scare from Ishii, sadly. Brawling Birds match was a squash to build up the women's tag division, and honestly, Brawling Birds have a great look, great synergy, and great entrance, so I'm expecting they'll be moving to the top of the division very soon. I personally hated the Knight/Mortos match, but mostly because I'm just tired of Mortos jobbing out when he absolutely should be the top of any division he's in, lol. Kenny and Swerve is the main reason to watch this, but it was also fun overall watch to get to that point."
[6.0] "Definitely one of the weaker dynamites of the year imo, that was somewhat salvaged by a strong main event and even stronger post match angle. A lot of what came before was underwhelming though. Opener was similar to the Takeshita match on Saturday (starts slow and picks up close to the end). Page & Brody had okay promos from grand slam. FTR segment was fine but they could've cut out everything that happened before Stokely started talking. Marina did a lot to drag down the quality of the tbs title match, but I'm hoping for Willow v Bayne. Good Grand Slam vid pack. MJF mostly did well in the world title segment. Page's delivery was so awkward, that even the Cody stip didn't get that big a reaction. The thing about them being similar made me cringe as well and the final part about MJF thinking about his stip but Page saying Texas death right there and then was confusing. This should've been better tbh. Weak DR & DCF promos (particularly Okada) & war dogs v conglomeration match with a generic Darby run in (again). Nice to see Ishii at least and glad he got the pin. Bad Hook promo. Not every team needs a name and the squash tag match felt long (I like their finish at least). Stat and especially Rosa had one of the better segments. Solid Jetspeed pre taped promo heading into Kevin's match which wasn't perfect but was fun at least and the division is showing signs of life. Another Ospreay package and a pretty decent Demand segment (they keep improving and Toa stood out). Really good main event & I appreciate the decisiveness of the victory. The post match attack was by far the best thing on this show. Also, Danielson was pretty good on commentary. They packed a lot into this episode which I appreciate but some of the execution was really weak. EDIT: The more I think about it, the less sense hangman makes. He made the Cody stip just because he wanted a specialty match against a guy he's beat in regular matches before? How erratic and stupid are we supposed to think this character is?"
[8.0] "Honestly a pretty solid episode of dynamite was probably a 7.5 before a fucking excellent main event which brought it up to an 8 for me. Nothing wrong with anything on the card. The opener was a great physical contest that i loved. Then the rest of the show was just a bit above average the women's 4 way was alright with some good moments. OC and Ishii vs Kidd and Conners was as bit pointless as it only existed to set up Darby appearing at the end and we got no progression with OC and Roddy. Kevin and Mortos was a pretty fun sprint but meaningless in the grand scheme of things. At least we have set up 3 great matches for revolution, Brawling birds debut was fun, we got some set up for collision and another Ospreay video package (yes please). Main event and the post match angle was fucking unbelieve and will be the only memorable thing from this show in about a month because fuck it was good."
[9.0] "If not for the main event this would have been a 7. I thought it was a pretty good dynamite overall but nothing screamed too special to me. You have some good matches ranging from 6 to 8 and a solid MJF hangman segment. It's good stuff but nothing too special, imo. Then came the main event which was incredible. Everything about it. The match, the post match angle which was done so well. Kenny's off air promo was great too. Overall an excellent epiosde."
[9.0] "A tremdnous, tremendous show. AEW really is fyring on all cylinders. The in-ring has always been there, but all the stories are hitting right now as well and it creates a perfecly rounded program + this smaller venues just look so fucking amazing and the crowds are always super hot whith elevate the show. Mox vs. Davis was a great opening. Mox is slowly becoming one of my favorite TV wrestlers (alongside Fletcher and Darby) and I'm glad Davis is being used depite Doyle getting hurt; the guy's a demon and deserves it. The little FTR/YB angle was fun. As repetitive as it is, the match is gonna slap. TBS title four way match was really good. All four brought their A-gams and put on really fun bout. Bayne stood out for me, as she always does. I came into the MJF/Page without expecting much, but boy was that an AMAZING promo. No bs, just real talk and real hatred between two men who share a lot in common and that simply want to prove to be better than the other. The Hangman stipulation of him not challening for the title ever again adds unpredictability to the match and the texas death match stip (if they do it) will be something we never saw from these two. Just great, great work -- it got me hyped as hell. Conglomeration vs. War Dogs was solid. Gabe/Ishii exchanges were fun, Connors is fantastic. I'm already sold on the Brawling Birds -- they got charisma and good chemistry. They're a nice entry to the tag division, which I'm glad is being expanded. Thunder Rosa coming back is also cool. Knight vs. Mortos was good; Knight is a star in the making and this win elevates him even more. Kenny vs. Swerve wasn't just the match of the night, but it's already a STRONG contender for TV MOTY (and in general, too). Just top-tier work from top-tier wrestlers. Swerve's heel turn was such a crazy way of ending the show and it makes sense considering with what they've teased recently (the Embassy and Swerve "needing" this win). Just great, great shit all around. 9/10."
"[8.0] Sublime show with consistent match quality, solid promo work, and an incredible main event. The main event itself was probably the best TV match so far this year and one of the best matches I've seen from Swerve Strickland. Excited to see the direction Swerve is taking following his heel-turn and evisceration of Kenny Omega."
[6.0] "The women's four-way match and the main event were the highlights of this Dynamite episode, but the rest was rather disappointing, with matches lacking suspense or build-up and featuring fairly basic in-ring action. On the other hand, the (surprisingly? ) serious exchange between MJF and Hangman was a highlight, as were the segments with The Demand and FTR, and the culmination of Swerve's turn at the end of the show. An episode with room for improvement, but relatively enjoyable to watch. Match quality: 2.75/5. Angles and off-match segments: 1.25/3. Bonus/penalty: good atmosphere +0.25. Total: 6.25/10. Show watched on Triller TV."
Ishii is back.
[9.0] "I will go months without watching AEW when I am not feeling it but I think they have been pretty strong recently and this was a brilliant 2 and a bit hours of TV wrestling."
[9.0] "Another really good Dynamite. Main event was fantastic and love the Hangman vs. MJF promo. I am good with a Swerve heel turn, great final angle."
[10.0] "9.5/10 Holy moly! What a show. AEW is just on another planet right now. Great stories to be told across the entire show. Match one, hoss fight between the underrated Mark Davis and the under appreciated Moxley was absolute fire, just a rock em sock 'em robots delight. Match two, 4 corners woman's match set it off with fire, everyone had a chance to shine. Fun tag match next which helped further the conglomeration story of internal strife as well as Darby and Kidd, which has been a sleeper of sorts. Connors fits in like a glove and it was great to see Ishii back. Brawling Birds won a squash, they looked good and I'm stoked to see where it goes next. Great to see Thunder Rosa back, hope she gets to shine and stays healthy. Another excellent showcase match for Knight against Mortos, who is also underrated. They looked fantastic and it was fun. Fun angle with FTR and The Bucks, clearly the fans were happy to see them and somehow this years long rivalry always seems to work. Main event, my god, a solid 10/10! They say AEW can't tell stories but this match was obviously well paced and full of insanity. If you watch just one match this week, it's gotta be this. Kenny and Swerve brought it, Swerve did an amazing job of conveying his emotions, he's maybe the most complete performer in wrestling today. Kenny pulled out the big guns and as always they looked impressive. It's going to be a ride to see where they both go now. Bonus points for the vertebreaker on the table, jeez! Overall, 9/10, an incredible episode of wrestling television to add to the list of many they have put on this year."
[6.0] "Solid show that felt elevated by the main event match after what was largely consistent but pretty predictable show. The opener was pretty good although the outcome was obvious. Some solid build to Revolution."
[10.0] "The strength of the matches in general, the incredible main event, and Hangman's performance in the face-to-face with MJF tip this over the top for me for a weekly TV episode."
Fazit: Starke Dynamite!"
[10.0] "Wow! Opener had Mox and Dunkzilla put in that ol' school power. Ol' man strength. The 4 Way was outstanding Willow, Mina, Marina, and Megan all rocked! Big Match Tom showed how much of a pro he is working through that hamstring(? ) injury although Ishii is the best injury seller in the biz. Brawling Birds got to debut and brought glimpse of the British strong style I was hoping for. Kevin Knight v Mortos ruled. Beast was over probably more so that Knight and it was interesting. For the ME Omega Swerve was TV MOTYC literally within a week of Ciampa/Fletcher - Fletcher/Briscoe giving their versions of the TV MOTYC. Just wow!"
[9.0] "Just a fantastic pro wrestling episode again from AEW. The angle progression, especially with limited mic time, was super strong. Tons of intrigue on MJF/Hanger now via just one F2F. But, what I love about AEW is the way the "stories" progress more through action/physicality than by microphone. Swerve's slow turn over the last month + last night was exactly how a turn should go for someone like him. Loved having two women's matches, enjoyed the War Dogs match (hope Tom is ok), Beast vs. Jet was an awesome surprise add, the opener was HOT with Mox being super over, and what more can you say about the main event? Kenny is a GOAT, and Swerve is potentially the most intriguing character in wrestling over the last 2 years. Awesome stuff."
[8.0] "A great episode of Dynamite this week, with some good/great matches and some decent segments like Adam Page/MJF face to face which delivered intensity and interest which was expected. Jon Moxley vs Mark Davis: This was a hoss brawl which was to be expected, Davis could have done with the win but Moxley winning was kind of obvious, for an Eliminator Match it was solid, would not have expected anything different from these two, a solid opening match for Dynamite [***1/4]. Willow Nightingale vs Marina Shafir vs Megan Bayne vs Mina Shirakawa: A good solid four way womens match here with all four having decent showings here, Willow retaining was good to see, Bayne was impressive here and hope she gets a title soon [***1/2]. Orange Cassidy & Tomohiro Ishii vs Clark Connors & Gabe Kidd: Ishii had a good showing despite potentially having an injury during the match, Darby Allin getting involved to take Kidd away from the match in storyline made sense, OC and Ishii winning was good to see and the match was solid [***]. Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter vs B3CCA & Viva Van: It was short timed and did what it needed to do and that was for the TV debut of Windsor and Hayter as a team [**]. Kevin Knight vs The Beast Mortos: They were evenly matched, had some decent moments and was an overall enjoyable match to watch, wished they had a bit more time though [***]. Swerve Strickland vs Kenny Omega: 20 minutes of 2 former world champions having a great match even on free TV and not a PPV which the quality was PPV standard, the ref bump was worked well and Swerve winning was okay but wish Kenny won, they need to run this back down the road on a PPV [****1/2]"
[9.0] "That was one of my favourite wrestling shows of the year. Good quality matches sandwiched between story development and pacing sympathetic to the human beings actually choosing to watch it rather than beating you to death with the crap they are trying to sell. What a novel idea... nothing felt forced or poorly done. Everything hit and hit well. The main event and the angle that followed were works of art"
[7.0] "This was a mostly terrible show, outside of two segments. We start out with Jon Moxley vs Mark Davis, why? WHY? Nobody cares and we all know Mox is winning waste of fkn time. We then get another random conglomeration of womens wrestlers because Tony Khan is incapable of booking a proper women's feud. Willow wins and nobody will remember the match next week. We get another Young Bucks FTR segment nobody cares about because it feels like we've seen the match 100 times. The Conglomeration beat the bullet club wardogs, does anybody care? And FINALLY we get something worth watching. An absolute MASTERCLASS is promo work between two of the best in the business. MJF and Adam Page, what, a, segment. This is what builds a PPV main event match, not petty low-hanging fruit insults, (which to criticize MJF he's been using a lot of lately), but legitimate storytelling. Adam Page told MJF that he sees himself in him, their desperation, their drive, their will to be the best, and in a way it makes Adam Page hate himself, thus, making him more desperate to stipulate he would never challenge for the world title again if he loses. Texas Death is the cherry on top, excellent, excellent segment. We get a brawling birds squash match, which I don't mind, at least they're trying to do smtg with Hayter. Kevin Knight vs. Beast Mortos, it was good, but agian who cares. And the main event was excellent, awesome match between Swerve and Kenny, and the post match heel-turn? I guess you can call it that, was done very well. My only criticism is this is like the fourth time we've written Kenny off TV to injury, at some point the angle loses its credibility. Other than that this show is HEAVILY carried by it's world title scene, which is arguably the strongest it's ever been. 6.5/10 show"
[5.0] "The main event was great which it should've been given the level of talent. I'm really not into Hangman vs. MFJ. AEW feels like they're recycling a lot of feuds and using a revolving door of the same guys. Why did they bother signing Josh Alexander if he was going to do nothing? Wrestling companies in North America aren't looking all that great right now."
[4.0] "Main event was the highlight of this show. MJF-Hangman segment was solid but it's a stupid booking decision to have Hangman redo the Cody stipulation, it's just a really dumb cornet to put yourself in and it makes no sense. The rest of the show had average to mediocre matches that were mostly filler and uninteresting. Maybe it's too early to tell but last years Revolution build completely trumps this year's, it just doesn't feel as exciting or compelling to watch AEW right now. The stories are quite boring and the people that they're pushing aren't really that interesting."
[5.0] "A lot of the action had some dustiness to it, making it seem like a slapdash, show-after-a-big-show Dynamite. The Swerve/Kenny main event was good but both men are in an uncertain spot. I added a point to the show after seeing the table bump. Revolution is shaping up, it's just a weird point in AEW's calendar."
[10.0] "Honestly, this show is among the best of the year (and it's only just begun), but it was fantastic from start to finish. The Mox vs. Davis match was a great opener to kick things off, physical and with good chemistry between the two competitors. I didn't have high hopes for the women's match for TBS, and I was very surprised by how good it was. I'd say the weakest match was War Dogs vs. Orange/Ishii, but it was still entertaining at times. One of the best was Knight vs. Mortos, an underrated match because of the synchronization between the two wrestlers, something that went a bit unnoticed last night. Finally, the main event was incredible with an intense match between Swerve and Omega, culminating in a cinematic final segment. The segments during the show were also excellent, especially the confrontation between Hangman and MJF. In conclusion, it was a fantastic show with great moments to build the storylines leading up to Revolution. 10/10."
"Absolute banger from start to finish. It's insane the chemistry Omega and Swerve already have, even though it's their first time facing each other one-on-one. An opening segment with Moxley defending and putting real prestige on the Continental title. Nothing else to say: 10/10 show"
[9.0] "Great episode with an amazing last 30 minutes. Just disappointed about the Hangman - MJF promo. This rivalry hasn't seen a shred of violence, a Texas death match doesn't fit the narrative in my opinion. On top of that, the stipulation of hangman being forced to quit going after the AEW title if he loses makes the match very predictable."
[8.0] "Any show that had that Swerve-Omega match is going to be a great show. What else do you really need? Still, the opening was straight fire, the DCF-Death Riders feud has continued nicely, there were two women's matches, a bunch of fun midcard stuff, AND a really good MJF-Hangman promo segment. The questionable nature of the "never challenge for the world title again" stip from Hangman holds it back a bit, and some of the middle of the show matches weren't the strongest, but all in all exactly what I want from an episode of wrestling television."
[9.0] "I thought the card for this show looked kinda weak and didn't have the several interesting stakes the matches have had the last 2 or 3 weeks so I thought the show was gonna be uneventful, but I was wrong. There were several good angles and we set up several Revolution matches and the action was good throughout till we reached the main event and boy oh boy was that main event ridiculously great. It was one of the best matches I've seen all year followed by a GREAT angle that sets up a much needed direction in my opinion and bolsters the kinda thin main eventer heel department. Fantastic show"
[10.0] "AEW is absolutely red hot right now, the last couple Dynamites and Grand Slam have been phenomenal, even Collision has had it's great matches and moments. This episode continues that hot streak, truly I don't think there was a misstep or geniounly bad segment or match. Started hot with a slobberknocker of a match between Mox and Mark Davis. MJF and Hangman come face to face and have a duel of words for the ages, fantastic promo segment that made me so excited to see Revolution. The TBS title fatal four way was a blast and really showcased all four women very well. The men's tag match was solid, it was there to further the storyline of Gabe and Clark vs Darby but it was super fun seeing Ishii and OC team up, I hope Ishii is alright though as he pulled up lame at one point. The Brawlin' Birds debut was the lowlight but it was a glorified squash, so that's not really anything that lowers the overall quality of the show or anything. Kevin Knight has a nice showcase going up against Black Taurus. But the main event was the real highlight of this show. If there was any doubt at all, Swerve and Omega put on a true MOTY contender. This was nothing short of a PPV caliber main event match on free TV. And it closed with an almost equally epic angle with Swerve going full heel and just demolishing Kenny, choking him and putting him through an announce table. AEW did a great job keeping swerve hot, and the Men's main event scene in AEW keeps it's feverish momentum in 2026. I can't wait for Dynamite every week these days, it's honestly hitting a really great stride since the beginning of the year. Great show."
[10.0] "AEW is firing on all cylinders right now. Hangman/MJF has real stakes, the FTR/Bucks match feels bigger this time, and Swerve going heel again is great. Awesome in-ring action tonight and some great promos. Revolution looks to be a top tier PPV as usual now."
[10.0] "AEW have been killing it lately. Great wrestling as always with a tremendous main event, and an even more tremendous ending to the show with Swerve going heel. The Hangman stip for the PPV is controversial to say the least for those of us that were watching in 2019 and saw this happen before. Cody was never quite the same in AEW after that, so here's to hoping they've learned from history. It adds intrigue for sure and if Hangman wins then it's a brilliant way to play off history and the dread that comes with that stipulation for long time fans. If he loses then I dunno man."
[9.0] "Great episode, I continue loving how AEW keeps telling their stories through in ring work. Good segment between MJF and Hangman, apart from the Cowboy trying to do a therapy session. Of course, the episode has its downs, but it delivered when it mattered, including a phenomenal main event"
[10.0] "Very rare that I rate non PPV shows but I had to today because that main event was INSANE. The match. Chef's kiss. One of the best match you'll see all year. The post match segment was incredible. Swerve turning heel on the ultimate babyface that is Kenny Omega and putting him through the table with a vertebreaker is peak storytelling. Loved that segment and the match. The MJF and Adam Page promo was great. The stakes couldn't be any higher for Hangman. And I'm all hyped for Bucks vs FTR 5 at revolution. Overall a great show with an incredible main event."
[2.0] "I decided to give AEW another chance after having not watched for a while. Boy did this show have some problems. First of all, most every match was full of the fakest looking strikes I have seen in a very long time. This was most of the matches. Second, the announcers have to be the worst in the history of wrestling. Brian Danielson just sucks at being an announcer. What a nightmare team him plus excalibur plus modern day Schiavone is. Third, this audience just wants to get itself over, reveling in the chance to chant fuck or shit every other match/segment. Every match is disjointed and lacks any sort of flow; it's just a series of moves with people not selling them. The women's four way was the worst offender for this. Then you've got stuff like blood for no reason on an opening match cuz Moxley's got to have blood in all his matches. He sure is the shits man. That brings me to the other talent on this show. I can't abide a show that's going to have the bucks and orange cassidy on it either. Thankfully their time here wasn't quite so long but they are the worst also. Get that shit off of TV. They still have audio issues after all these years. I can't believe people consider Hangman Page to be a good promo. Didn't he win an observer award for this? He sounds like he's putting on a voice. It sounds nothing like any natural way of speaking. At least MJF is still pretty convincing. Other issues were featuring broken down slow old japanese guys like Ishii (who looks like he got injured in his match or maybe he is just that old and broken) and the fact that everyone has a belt (even ricochet for some reason), rendering them meaningless. Swerve vs Omega had many impressive moments, but it had its own problems with some disjointedness and no selling of super devastating stuff. I'd rather see a more straightforward match that has a few things built up to over the course of the match, rather than them trying to top each other spot after spot. Still liked that match fine enough though. I doubt I will watch another dynamite again any time soon, maybe I will check out a ppv since those seem to go a little bit better (though they are long as fuck)."
[10.0] "Full fat 10 for me, I would have liked a Thekla promo celebrating her victory last week, but that go home angle alone between Swerve/Omega puts this up to a 8 already, incredible in-ring action including a Knight/Mortos match that wouldn't have been out of place in hour 2 in the 90's on Turner programming, a great town hall segment between MJF and Hangman giving some real meat to their world title match, great women showcase tonight, incredible opener, a massive massive gorilla thumbs up to this show."
