[8.0] "The tradition continues with night one of the J-Cup being the better night out of the two. Tournament matches were very well structured and the special attraction matches worked much better than last year. Only real lowlights were the Darian vs Judas match and how long it took to set up/how flimsy the final cage was set up. Where was the last Hammerstein crew that did it in half the time and kept it sturdy?"

[6.0] "(Grade:C/***) Solid Start to the Jersey J-Cup! Some of my favorite matches would be Darian Bengston vs. Judas Icarus, Jonathan Gresham vs. Adam Priest, Dynamite Kid vs. Black Tiger, and Jordan Oliver vs. Alec Price!"

[7.0] "KJ Orso vs Terry Yaki: A fine match to open not only the show but the tournament, Yaki continues to improve and was rooting for him to win this match, Orso continues to be a heel wrestler that will do anything to win [**3/4]. Man Like DeReiss vs Oro: A evenly matched match here with both showcasing some decent chemistry in the ring and having the will to try and get the win which DeReiss did which was good to see [***1/4]. Darian Bengston vs Judas Icarus: A fine match that had only 8 minutes, they had one or two fine minutes but overall fell underwhelming [**]. Jonathan Gresham vs Adam Priest: Might have been slower paced but easily worth a watch, Gresham showcased his technical prowess and Priest put up a good fight even if he lost, one of the better tournament matches this year [****1/4]. The Dynamite Kid vs Black Tiger: A non tournament singles match that was better than I thought it was gonna be, Tiger being revealed to be Rocky Romero was interesting, Romero brought the best out of Kid and had a great match that had intense exchanges especially towards the end [****]. Vengador vs Griffin McCoy vs Joe Lando vs Joey Janela vs Manny Lo and Travis Williams: A nice sequenced scramble match within the tournament, Janela being revealed as the surprise entrant was good to see even if he did not win, Vengador winning was nice to see, all got their moment in [***1/4]. Charles Mason vs Erick Stevens: I was not a huge fan of this one, it felt it lacked intensity it needed, Mason winning was no surprise but would like to have seen Stevens got the win [**]. Billie Starkz vs Ryan Clancy: It made sense for Starkz to advance further than the first round as she is the JCW World Champion and the title being defended in the tournament, the match was fine at best, nothing really stood out [**1/2]. Alec Price vs Jordan Oliver: 20 minutes of these tag partners going at it even though there was not a winner and both got took out the Jersey J Cup tournament, a great match to end the first round matches, intense action at times including a intense submission and pinfall attempt sequence at the end [****1/2]. 1 Called Manders vs Mad Dog Connelly: As brutal and physical as one would expect, they had a physically intense cage match where both drew blood, a great fight to end the show [****1/4]"

[7.0] "An enjoyable and pretty consistent first night of the Jersey J Cup that had a lot to like. My two favorite tournament matches of the show were the six way match and Alec Price/Jordan Oliver while KJ Orso/Terry Yaki and Adam Priest/Jonathan Gresham were both good as well. In non-tournament action, Black Tiger/Tommy Billington was good while the main event between 1 Called Manders/Mad Dog Connelly was very good and in my top 3 overall of the show with the two top tournament matches."

[7.0] "Solid matches all night and a good setup for Night 2. The six-way scramble was fantastic and the cagematch was a exactly what you'd expect from Mad Dog and Manders. Price and Oliver was the best of the night"
